July 1985, just left school at 16, started working as an apprentice joiner. Got my first weeks wages and went to a club in liverpool called the harrington bar by cavern walks. After 5 pints i was off my head and this song came on and it lit me up. I never knew the name of the song or the artist until 2010… after a million searches using every lyric i could remember, I found it. God bless TH-cam, my youth, vicious pink and of course, the Harrington bar aka ‘the harrie🎉’
What a great story! You have found us now! We have more, a new LP called 'Unexpected' coming out 21st of May 2024 on Minimal Wave Records, links on our TH-cam Channel. XX
Back 1985 at the Gay Tea Dance Party at LE PALACE in Paris (France) thousand and thousand ppl dancing as mad when that track was played ! DF crowed as hell. I think Cccan't you see is the track of my 20 years old ! Definitely !!!
First comment I was 20 years old when this song came out 38 years ago still sounds as fresh as today and yeah it sounds like a disco tune I just love it
I totally forgot about this one ! Thanks for your video ;-) I used to mix this with Bostich - Yello when I was Djing in my young time, even if the tempo need some adjust between the two.. I'm 56 today and still love this.
I had the what; 5 different 12" single versions of this at one time? Oh, and the 7" for Fetish. The Canadian LP is the hardest to find though. This is the first time I've seen the video ANYWHERE. I was 15 when I heard this at Electric Avenue (all ages club) in Orlando. Fabulous upload, mate. The 7' DJ Mix is dancefloor destruction.
The r/OldElectronicMusic subreddit brought me here! 🔥 💣 💚 This track was sampled in: 1. I'm for Real by Nightmares on Wax (1990) 2. Factory by Set Up System (1991) 3. Trip on This by Asmo (1988)
Joe Mc Millian was in a night club believing that he won't be making a his mark in the world... little did he know he was on the eve of helping to build the early spine of the Internet. He was in a night club with his girlfriend listening to this song, on the night they were moving to the Silicon Valley.
An awesome tune that should've been a hit in 1984 & 1985. A beautiful singer, great synths & excellent production by Tony Mansfield. Love this tune... Looking forward to hearing the new music soon...

This song always makes me think I'm having another acid flashback. It's fairly overwhelming at first, but once it gets going it's fantastic.
