This may sound absurd but your builds always evoke a twinge of nostalgia for me. Years ago, my uncle and his wife built a retirement house up in the mountains and it was their dream home. It was fit to the topography and so had three levels and multiple porches sprawled on the hillside. Each level of the house and each porch had seating areas with paired comfy chairs for reading or jawing or (often) napping. I guess he never wanted to have to go to far to have a comfortable place to sit, preferably with good company. Despite (or perhaps because of) the unrelenting violence of the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth, your settlers seem to appreciate the value of a good sit. Preferably with good company. Cheers, and thanks.
your creations are great! I know I am 3 years late but I enjoy. looking at them and sometimes even replicating some of it‘s aspects, I have learned a lot from your work even after over 400 hours of gametime
I took pleasure in going around this construction very well done the final with the decoration is great thank you for sharing, can't wait to see the rest of your constructions to come
Glad you enjoyed the tour! For some reason I did not find decorating this build as painful as others, and feel it helps to really finish off the build and give it a lived in feel. Also looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us with your next build 😎
Glad I got back to Fallout 4 recently because people like you breathe so much life into the part of the game I've always wanted to get into, but find myself struggling with. Playing in Survival is so immersive and challenging and seeing stuff like these makes the game so much more believable and lived in! Beautifully presented with the added bonus of providing us with a blueprint as well. Glad that you're a part of the community and I see you as an inspiration in this game. Looking forward to what else you can make in the future!
This is the first video I’m watching from you and It’s fantastic to see someone building this marvellous settlement. One thing I will do too is to make the guard as the Husband of the couple that originally lived there, and the Spouse gonna be the General Store trader. Giving a bit of more lore to the Settlement 🤩🤩
Wow this looks really amazing. I never thought that you could fit so many buildings into this rather small settlement. That ruined house has always given me a headache, I can tell you that. Yet another spectacular build, bravo!
I think that ruined house gives most people trouble 😣 Went through quite a few different designs before finding something I was happy with! I think the final plan of just burying the ruin under various pieces until it’s no longer a problem worked out quite well in the end 🤣 Many thanks and glad you enjoyed the build!
As much as I hate decorating I think it really helps to finish off a build, and I do like how it looks when it’s all finally done. Great to hear you liked it, many thanks! 👍😁
Many thanks! Really pleased with how the bar area turned out, just wish the owner would stop slacking off to chat with other settlers about the minutemen every few mins… Not sure where I am heading next but welcome suggestions - as long as they do not include Vault 88 or Spectacle Island 🤣
I have been doing settlement builds for years, literally since the game was released and some of the ideas I've seen here got me rethinking everything lmao.

Great to hear you enjoyed the tour and thanks for noticing the decorations which I have a love / hate relationship - love how they look, hate having to place them all 🤣
Would love to see a video showing how you placed all the decorative/junk items. Because I find that tedious, so assume you found a better way (I am talking about things like items on shelves and on tables, etc.
Furnished and decorating is my least favourite part of settlement building, and sadly I do not have a method that makes it any less tedious. All the junk is hand placed and then made static using Place Everywhere, and then involves lots of fiddling around to get stuff looking right. As such its unlikely I’ll record a video showing that process - sorry! 😔
Forgive me if I've asked this before, I have trouble with this settlement so are you using floor foundation for the starter on your walls and foundation, if so how do you control the leveling of those pieces?
Yes, I typically start my structures by placing flooring pieces as foundations and build up from them. I build using the Place Everywhere mod and make use of its option to disable Surface Snapping (F2) along with its Precise Movement features (Arrow Keys on the NumPad) to place and align the pieces. I did a building series for this settlement if you wanted to see how certain structures were put together: th-cam.com/video/nEmkqs9aT1M/w-d-xo.html
I really enjoyed Far Harbor and love the location so looking forward to building there. Think I’ll need to find a weather mod before I start though, my current method of setting the weather via the console seems to last for all of 5 seconds before the fog starts creeping in again. Honestly not looking forward to Vault 88, felt quite let down with the vault pieces it provided and its lighting options are also rather limited. As such I’ll probably be putting off building there for as long as I can.
I stopped ‘playing’ this save a long time ago (I started it back in 2020) and is just used for building settlements now, so all the resources are added via console commands.
The first thing that i build was a bathroom chair with pillar glitch near to water resource in a room with campfire glitch to placed them in wood floor. Using all size that game let me build i could build 1 big house with 3 beds and water resource. 1 regular house where plant crops more 3 beds and 1 combination of house with standard mini house that tenpiness bluff with 5 beds and turrets defenses with defenses wood walls over each house . Rock place are dog houses and caravan main place together to a mini bar where sit and hear radio with 1 shop and 1 bed. It was the max that the game let me build there with size limit standard being exactly 12 beds for 12 settlers with 12 food and water more 24 or more defense. Balanced.
Howdy Fiddle! I've been having a problem at Tenpines thats really been stumping me with my own settlement. Certain light objects just don't emit any light, specifically the Wall Light and Fancy Wall Light objects from Wasteland Workshop, and it seems to be an issue only at Tenpines as it works fine in places like Sanctuary, Red Rocket, and Taffington Boathouse. When I first placed them down after unlocking the settlement, they worked fine and emitted light like they're supposed to. However, when I came back later from a junk run, they stopped emitting light, but the bulbs still glow indicating they're powered. I come to you about this 'cause I feel I've asked everyone and tried everything I can think of to fix this and have found no solution so far. I've tried removing all my mods that change lighting to no effect. I've tried rewiring the entire settlement but they still remain dark. Some of the people I've asked even concluded that it may just be a bug with the game in general. I apologize for the long comment, but I'm really hopin' you may know something about this? Thanks!
I have seen this issue at the settlements you mentioned and a few others too unfortunately, and believe it’s due to some sort of filter the game applies during certain weather conditions. If you enter _fw 0002b52a_ in the console to reset the weather those lights should go back to normal. Sadly this is not a permanent fix as the filter will kick in again when the weather updates, and depending on the location (such as Murkwater) this might even only be for a couple of seconds 😔.
@@FiddleflapsVids Damn. Well I certainly hope someone makes a patch to this via a mod sometime soon. I was confused about it as this was the first time I've encountered this issue in my time playin' the game. As always though, I appreciate the advice!
None… I used Gamma Guns instead as they are far cheaper and easier to get 😉😆. Not sure how many times I reset the build limit here, but its pretty small so I would guess its probably 3 full size bars.

For some reason codsworth and dogemeat arent considered settlers in numbers so that is a benefit.

lol, thanks! 😊 Always had a soft spot for Tenpines as a location and really pleased with how this turned out, must remember to stop by in game at some point and see how its doing.
Depends on the settlement but I usually have just enough to fill the available job’s. This build had 7 settlers (x2 farmers, x2 guards, x3 vendors), with most of my other settlements having around 10-12.
Thanks! Always found the vanilla building systems limitations and restrictions to be incredibly frustrating to the point where I gave up trying to build. Thankfully Place Everywhere exists and allows me to build and place pretty much anything I want 😁
OK Fiddleflap, out of all the shops you put in this build you placed the least important and left out the most important at least in my opinion. Weapons is the least important due to weapon mods but medic is a must as for those playing in survival mode, I went ahead and scrapped the weapon store and replaced it with medic.
I don’t play survival and so never really had a use for the in-game clinics. Of course the benefit of the blueprint system is that you can customise each settlement to your own needs 😉
The blueprint for this settlement is now available on Nexusmods: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/53289
