I had one of these in 1986-88 when I was in the Navy. I heard a guy at the local music store play dance the night away and did the harmonic tapping and I had to have it
I own a G-40C that I got on Reverb for $50 and I often look for demo videos. So far this one has been pretty good but when the dogs came out it all of a sudden became the bestest and goodest review video I've seen yet
I remember my little Crate practice amp in '92 being the best thing since the Rockman. I don't remember exactly what model but it had some kind of boost button on it and sounded amazing compared any practice amp I owned previously. Good memories, they had turned the movie theaters into concert venues and the local music scene was on fire 🔥
Thanks! Just saved one from going in the trash. Just got my first electric guitar, and I want to compare this with my little digital amp I got for practicing quietly when my grandbabies are home.
I picked up a mint one of these about 3months ago. Pots are a little scratchy but it has the Celestian speakers. It's not quite a Roland JC40 but it's a very cool little amp 👍👍
Yeah...that's exactly about how much of Mr. Scary ANYONE can play besides Lynch. HAHA! Which other speakers did they use in the G40C when it wasn't the Celestions?
Not sure but I just payed 20 bucks for a g40 it has beringhers. New celestions are expensive but I’ll prob get one and a greenback or a combo of some sort.

Thanks for sharing …. That’s a great amp… I think having the chorus on the amp is awesome!….. Rock on from Winnipeg Canada

Yeah the key is it must have the Celestion L series speakers and be the "made by SLM models"
I have owned this amp for years... I own two other crates that i prefer..

Did these always pop like this when turning on?
Yup
Yes every time.
yes I have 2 of these and they always pop when powering up.
the stereo chorus on these is one of the best I've ever heard
The ONLY thing I don't like, is there is not treble middle and bass knobs for the distortion channel but I've learned ways to deal with it.
