I love that, the parallel between the serpent "opening" Adam and Eve's eyes, and Jesus opening the eyes of the 2 who were on the road to Emmaus. The beginning of sin, and the redemption from sin. Beautiful.
Your connection to the reversal of Genesis 3 through the expression of their eyes being opened was a beautiful Holy Spirit revelation. I too wish I could have been a fly on the wall during the walk to Emmaus!
This was so good and such a blessing Diana, thank you so much. I have struggled lately, even as a Christian, to see all the suffering that is constantly happening all around us. It really does come down to just trusting God. Good stuff!
I have to share with you how this Easter revelation lifted me out of a long time "funk" and brought joy back into my life. Grief from several years of heart breaks, some serious and some less dire, had drained me and contributed to a somber sadness in my soul. Then last week, between Easter and my birthday, I realized that joy had crept back in, and I was able to enjoy people and activities again. I wondered just what changed and now, I truly believe that your words and how you shared them with us made a path for this return to joy. Thank you SO much!!
You made my day 💕 I submitted this idea because my mom made these for us most Easter mornings. My mom is no longer with us and I wasn't planning on making this a tradition with my two year old but now I am! Seeing the kids eat them brought bake so many fond memories, so I'm off to get my ingredients and carry on our tradition. Thank you for inspiring me once again!
My mother used to make these sometimes when I was a kid and she used a muffin tin so that all of the gooiness was contained. We called them "Surprise Third Degree Burns" because we could never wait for the molten marshmallow inside to cool before we ate them! LOL! 🤣
Diana, I definitely think the cooking show should be a regular series! I love how you two work together! Thank you for this beautiful message I really needed to hear it I’ve been struggling and you have explained it so well here. Happy Easter!
This comment made me cry Some days I'm sooo tired of this worlds trials They seem to come at you so hard and those fiery darts know right where to aim This comment just reminded me of how glorious it will be That we have eternity to meet and worship and get to know all the precious people here who have helped us along the way ♡♡
That was a very powerful sermon and one that I am unlikely to forget. It was fun spending Lent with you and learning about Resurrection gardens, cakes and rolls in between Bible readings. Happy Easter to you, Dawn and your families.
We always make our resurrection rolls in muffin pans, but I think the tight roll of ends are what keeps the marshmallow melted inside. For our tradition, we love telling the story as we make them. Jesus was sinless and white like the marshmallow. He was holy and God’s son with the yellow butter coating. He took on our sin for us when he died on the cross with cinnamon sugar. He was buried in the tomb with the crescent roll wrapped around him. Then bake (waiting for 3days and 3nights). Cut open the crescent roll, roll away the stone, Jesus is no longer there!!! He has resurrected! We sometimes add cinnamon sugar to the outside of the crescent roll to look more like the cave or tomb, but isn’t necessary. Just added taste. Our favorite family tradition after lunch. Great dessert with meaning.
Wow, I love that, that behind their lack of faith was a lack of knowledge! How applicable is that to so many moments in our walk with the Lord. As I have been more intentional about reading scripture with the desire to know it more intimately, I have come across more than one verse or passage that I know I could have leaned on in challenging times of my past. Knowing God's character and being in relationship with Him ultimately carried my faith, but I could have found more peace and determined hope had I been more knowledgeable of His Word!
Check out the channel Feeding the Bryds as they also did a resurrection roll demo. What they did was tuck the ends in (not like a crescent roll) and they only used a white marshmallow. They talked of the marshmallow (aka Jesus) as being white and pure. The melted butter as taking on the sins of others; and the cinnamon sugar as the spices used on those before burial. The end result when the "tomb" is opened, the marshmallow (aka Jesus) is gone and the "tomb" is empty. Love the color peeps, but they don't give the same effect as a white marshmallow and leaves the color. It looks like you girls had fun though!
Oh please please please make a cooking show a new regular thing! I could watch the 2 of you all day long. I just love how real you are. Like Julia Child when she made mistakes on her cooking show. It makes the rest of us feel better about our mistakes, and it makes us really ENJOY watching! Even just a once a month cooking show would be amazing!… just an idea😉
I love watching you two in the kitchen!! Its awesome that you have a plan but just go with it as well...lol!!! You win some you lose some!! You both are such good sports always!!
5:23 🤣🤣🤣🥰 i love this!!! u r talking about IF it looks good and the little boy is not saying anything but his body language is saying.....allllll that matters is IF it taste good ....please let me be the taste tester 🤗😂😂🤣😂
The biggest thing to not making a mess is making sure the rolls are COMPLETELY sealed around all the edges. Don’t worry about it looking like the croissant. ☺️ The first time I made them I didn’t carefully seal all the edges either AND I used a rimless cookie sheet! I had a real mess in the oven! 🤪
You 2 are so much fun together! I love how you connected the dots between Adam & Eve's eyes being opened to sin & the disciples' eyes being opened to resurrection life. Thank you for inspiring me to prepare my heart for Easter.
Diana I’m so happy to share with you! I’m just a little bit behind you and due in September 🤗 also with my 3rd! 🎉 Happy Easter to you and your family! Thank you for this devotional!
Yay!! Congratulations!! We are over the moon and I try not to wish away time, but I really wish August would come faster!! Many blessings for a healthy pregnancy and babe!! 🎉💛🙌
@@DianaKokku I pray the same blessings for you and your pregnancy! I understand what you mean, I’m hoping your pregnancy is going well for you-you absolutely glow in your videos! So happy you and your family have this little blessing to look forward to and thank you for the sweet wishes!
Happy Easter to you and your family! Thank you for this study and your dedication to the word and making it fun and understandable! P.S. I love peeps too and I'm gonna have to try the chocolate marshmellow cresent roll, 😋!!!
That was an awesome prayer Diana & I'm not sure if you noticed but in the picture you put up as you prayed there was a cloud in the shape of a lamb!!🙏😍
I love these last 2 you both had such a good time! I wish & hope someday my grown daughters will have as good time as you two do. Thank you for your resurrection cakes & rolls! I learn so much from you both.
We make homemade roll dough. Roll the marshmallow around a small amount of dough, dip it in butter and sugar cinnamon, then put it in a muffin tin. When it comes out of the oven, it actually looks more "tombish".....an empty one! = )
We have done these for years but we use frozen rolls dough. We prepare them the night before, put them in the fridge and cook them in the morning. 🌄😍 You want all the marshmallow covered so that it doesn't ooze out. We sprinkler cinnamon and sugar on the top.
I am making the resurrection cake right now the cake turned out perfect, now the decorating. Happy Easter to you and you families, thanks for sharing💖💖
Thx 4 sharing ladies! My daughters and I make resurrection biscuits each year. Ingredients we use: a can of biscuits, marshmallows, butter, cinnamon, and coconut palm sugar. We open the top half of the biscuit, take half a marshmallow (Jesus) and roll it in melted butter, place it in the biscuit (tomb), sprinkle cinnamon and sugar (to represent the spices) on Jesus' body, then close the tomb and seal it. My girls look forward to doing this every year! I hope it'll be a favorite mommy/daughter activity (that also has a great significant meaning) they'll always remember.
I heard something not long ago and gave me food for thought …. “ when God says No” which capitalized word are you putting your emphasis on “ No” or “ God” . On has to have faith that when that happens God has something better if we don’t get bitter.
I have always thought that when Jesus broke bread with them, and handed bread to them, they saw His scars and realized who He was. Just a thought. Jane (Happy Easter!)

His little head popping into view as soon as they came out of the oven. 🤣❤️

We use the Grands biscuits and pinch the dough around the marshmallow. 😁 I enjoy these videos.

I had never thought about the parallel of the eys being opened after eating. 💖

You have such a way with words! Thank you! Happy Easter!❤
Thank you Diana
I love the cooking shows. They are so fun!!!!! And you two together make me always laugh. Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Easter! Thank you.
Thank you Diana!
We used to press semi sweet cocolate chips into them and then roll them up. Just like a chocolate crossaint.

Next level resurrection roll: Add a pieces of shredded coconut with the marshmallows and you have the shroud in the tomb too! ✝️
Man, if I liked coconut, this would be a great add.
I took a resurrection Bundt cake to our family gathering ☺️
These seem very sweet to me but then I prefer savoury treats! and chocolate of course 😊Happy Easter both of you
I’ve been curious about trying resurrection rolls with peeps. Thanks for doing the experiment for me!

Hi Diana and Dawn 👋
PRAISE GOD! JESUS IS RISEN AND WE'RE SAVED!
Maybe cut the peep in half so you can tuck in the ends and still have a peep empty “tomb.” Love your cooking shows 😂

What is the pastry please
Add some shredded coconut with the marshmallows and you have the shroud when you bite in😉 ✝️
Trust Dawn in the kitchen.
I can’t believe she agreed either 😂😂😂The peeps are too large. Maybe half them.
I have always thought that when Jesus broke bread with them, and handed bread to them, they saw His scars and realized who He was. Just a thought. Jane (Happy Easter!)
Blame baby brain Diana! Xx
I thought the point was the marshmallow was supposed to disappear 😂🫠
I am sure you didn’t cook them long enough.
Peeps are not good plain so they ruin anything you put them in!!!!
Ladies - I really enjoy watching the two of you together, but sorry to say the premise of that recipe just looks disgusting!
