It's a prayer from the middle-east written by a jew (regardless of whether it was Jesus or someone that came later), translated into swahili, and set with european orchestration, by a chinese composer living in america. How does this not represent a wide swath of humanity?

Okay, i'm gonna say it. This video is my all time favorite youtube video for many reasons, but the most important is that i can always come back to it if i'm feeling especially cynic. Whenever i feel sick of and saddened by mankind i keep coming back to it. It makes me feel child-like wonder and amazement even after seeing it so many times. I just get reminded that while the human race may be mostly terrible, this planet is still a one-in-a-quintillion ball of beauty. So thanks for not letting me lose it, Grahambo.
Some in these comments are saying this is an ode to earth, while the song is an ode to God. Personally, to me this song, and this video, together seem as if asking for blessing upon all the ventures of man upon this beautiful planet. Whether you be atheist or christian, muslim or jew, and so many more, it is impossible to not acknowledge the incredible beauty of this creation (even should you believe it is the creation of the universe and not God), and I think it is a glorious thing to call upon a higher power in blessing and praise for all our success and advancement. For through our conflict,s our pain, our sorrows, our joys and happiness we have achieved and moved forward, survived and thrived. Through billions or lives and an unfathomable amount of thoughts, emotion, death, and life, we have reached the day we are in today (hence why I loved the shots of the modern world I believe they were just as fitting as video of tribal peoples). Humanity truly is a beautiful.

Indeed, if history is any teacher, we shall not be respected by many. We shall be looked down on and scorned. It shall not matter though, for as backwards as we may seem to them, we shall be those who they came from. Amid the same pain, anguish, and death that we experience now, they shall continue our hopes and our dreams. They will be, just as we are now, humans. the clip at 2:50 is footage from a helicopter of a tribe in the amazon rainforest that hasn't been contacted by the modern world. the people standing next to that hut have literally no knowledge of when the rest of the world looks like and what our technology is like.
***** Information is incredibly sparse as the general consensus amongst scientists and the government (I believe in Brasil, as it's in the Amazon) was to leave them alone.
Nonamearisto He wasn't denying that it's a Christian prayer or that it's sung in Swahili. He merely stated what he does while listening to the song, in an effort to make a joke.

This song brings me to tears regulary and you know what? I am thankful for this! Not because I am a religious person, but because I can truly appreciate what sound and music can give you.

Billy Bob How would watching this make him change his policy on coal-generated power? I watched this, I liked it, but it isn't going to inspire someone to change their political beliefs in and of itself; *especially* in regards to the "global warming" issue.
Blaze MacArthur Donald trumpet definitely would not be changed by this, i am just saying it is amazing to see how beautiful this world is and how sad it is that we are destroying. My comment was basically saying that Donald trump isn't really helping that right now.
Billy Bob Well, I agree with you to a certain extent. Out of necessity, out of negligence or simply out of greed, the natural world has been eroded due to human meddling. It goes without saying that we need to preserve what we can while we can; I just don't see why we must politicize the issue, but as it involves a lot of emotions, I can see why it would lead to that. Right now, it's more economically beneficial to burn coal instead of implementing comparatively expensive and inefficient equipment. Trump has his own priorities in running the country and focusing on its own citizens. While your cause seems conceptually just and is one I can certainly agree with, I don't see how you expect Trump to put most of his focus into reducing carbon emissions at the moment. To be honest, I originally thought you were referring to the many different peoples displayed in the video and thought you were trying to suggest Trump should watch this to gain more respect for other cultures. This is what I was ready to respond to you regarding.
It's things like this that make me feel so wonderful about the world. Scientists know that we make up such a small part of the universe, but what a hell of a part it is...
This makes you realise how amazing we are, how amazing everything is. It makes you realise how wonderful our world is, and how amazing our creations and what we've done are.

That is extraterrestrial being perceive wound in the same way as we do, which is unlikely. Same with watching that movie, or the whole existanse itself. Maybe they have more cords in their eyes, which means they can see colours we cannot even imagine. I'm sorry for being a dickhead.
Extraterrestrials will know this song, because Jesus would have taught them already.
It would be a great Tourism ad campaign.
What an amazing place this is. And how adaptable this humanity of ours is. Thank you for displaying it in the fullest.
the very best - thank you!!!
Simply amaaazing clips that go perfectly with the music. Well timed well placed shots! Thank you so much for this!
Perfect anthem for Earth and Civilization. Should be played at the end of the world.
Thank you for creating a video that is as uplifting and inspired as this amazing song. You have captured its spirit perfectly.
My favourite song ever.
Is my best too
Wow, I can't stop watching this again and again... More than beautiful!
I can't believe that some people's are not interrested in our earth ;(
But you aren't, you're exploring assassin's creed =/
Get rekt lol
I've literally listened to this song on loop on my iPod for hours! LOVE IT!!!!
the clip at 2:50 is footage from a helicopter of a tribe in the amazon rainforest that hasn't been contacted by the modern world. the people standing next to that hut have literally no knowledge of when the rest of the world looks like and what our technology is like.
Do you know where i can find more information on this tribe?
*****
Information is incredibly sparse as the general consensus amongst scientists and the government (I believe in Brasil, as it's in the Amazon) was to leave them alone.
Thedutchjelle
Yeah, i found a little footage of the whole fligth footage thing and a little info, but not much.
So beautiful. The world is lucky to have you making these videos
A very good use of the Lord's Prayer. That's what this is, only in Swahili. The Catholic version, no less.
I masturbate while worshiping Satan to this song. :)
AlonePopTart As a Christian I laughed so hard at this :D
AlonePopTart
Whether or not you do (you don't), it is still a Christian prayer set to song and sung in Swahili.
Nonamearisto He wasn't denying that it's a Christian prayer or that it's sung in Swahili. He merely stated what he does while listening to the song, in an effort to make a joke.
Nonamearisto Christian or not, it's an amazing song!
This video can give everybody a chance to step back and take a breath. There are so many conflicts in this world over land, religion, and the way of life itself. This can let everyone no matter what you believe see this world in a new and glorious light. This world is true beauty.
Considerably better than the official Civ IV video for it. That one was cheesier, more forced.
Samuel Goldie And 50% of that trailer consisted of murica.
Tlevids Yeah, which felt like a really disingenuous move to secure American interest in the game. Come on, guys! America isn't the only country in your game!
You have matched the exquisite sound with STUNNING visuals. Superbly chosen!
When I can find playlist with music like that?
civilization soundtrack in specific civilization 4
I had to pause and reflect for a moment after watching this video. Nicely done. Thank you for posting this.
A tribute to Epicness.
Wow. That was the most astounding and breathtaking thing I've seen all year.
At 3:01 two of the three people are carrying fucking AK-47s! Fucking. Hilarious.
There are two people in this world: Those who listen to the music and those who can feel it. I pity everyone who counts to the first mentioned category. This song brings me to tears regulary and you know what? I am thankful for this! Not because I am a religious person, but because I can truly appreciate what sound and music can give you.
don't want the music and video to end 😣
The song is so beautiful, and the video was also so beautiful. It made me shed many tears...
The Lord's Prayer in Swahili xx
Beautiful,simply amazing!!!

those who played the game :)
Dragos Dimancea the games great.
I will admit, this did help restore my faith in humanity a bit. Thank you.
the song is stolen from a game named sid meiers civilization 4
I know.
Why are there even dislikes? They dislike planet earth? lol
Aliums
The progression of the music doesn't fit with the video.
@@nathangamble125 wrong

This video made me cry and I rarely cry... absolutely beautiful :')
1:08 "big booty, yeah!"
Jean-Simon Culhane you DISRESPECTFUL POTATO
Oh my God, Asante sana for this video. It´s amazing! Thanks a lot for sharing it. Regards from Kenya!
Humanity. 3rd from the sun.
0:32 is such a glorious shot of the burj Khalifa.
Love the music and what it means, also you did a fantastic job of balancing scenes of nature and those of human achievement. Amazing video.
Donald Trump needs to watch this video
He'd probably like it, it's quite a powerful message.
Blaze MacArthur you misunderstand, he needs to watch this so he doesnt destroy the earth with his stupid coal factories
Love our planet! It's the only one we've got!
this is so precariously thought prevoking, i cant deal
Utterly beautiful Gorgeous song, of course, and with the video it's incredibly moving - well done!
It's things like this that make me feel so wonderful about the world. Scientists know that we make up such a small part of the universe, but what a hell of a part it is...
Great job done. It looks sincere and right to the point. Thank you, sir, for making this, indeed.
I love how the Lord's Prayer is playing behind clips from all over the Earth. Really awesome and powerful.
This makes you realise how amazing we are, how amazing everything is. It makes you realise how wonderful our world is, and how amazing our creations and what we've done are.
Its what brought me here, now I feel all tingly, what a great video.
E' meraviglioso ascoltare la voce , rappresentando la bellezza della natura !!!
Great job editing! It looks very good and professional!
That's really, really powerful. Awesome video.

Baba yetu, yetu uliye
Mbinguni yetu, yetu amina!
Baba yetu yetu uliye
M jina lako e litukuzwe.
Utupe leo chakula chetu
Tunachohitaji, utusamehe
Makosa yetu, hey!
Kama nasi tunavyowasamehe
Waliotukosea usitutie
Katika majaribu, lakini
Utuokoe, na yule, muovu e milele!
Ufalme wako ufike utakalo
Lifanyike duniani kama mbinguni.
(Amina)
This is a beautiful film and a tribute to little known places around the planet. Nature knows no religion. No need to clutter such an inspiring video with arguments. Thank you.
