This is a wonderful video, very succinct to the point and informative. It saved me tons of money. A Golf ball found my sunroof glass on a 2005 Toyota Limited 4-Runner. After doing some initial research, I discovered how expensive it was not only in buying a replacement, but having it professionally installed. I found this instructional video and a foreign auto dismantler who had a half dozen 4Runners, all with glass. I got a brand new looking glass (although dirty) for $125.00. So, thank you very much. I also enjoyed watching the interaction between you and your son. Great Dad.

Just replaced the sunroof on my 2011 Corolla using your video as a reference. It was exactly the same... thanks for posting.
I did check toyota service documentation for any additional info and basically it states to be sure and align to -0 to +2mm in height.
Took longer to align just right (working by myself) than it did to R+R lol
Definitely recommend magnetized torx bit just to be safe.

some variance in the specs depending on which corner or side, but +/- 1mm will get you in spec regardless

Well done video! Your son appears to be a great helper, do you rent him out? My son cares absolutely nada about cars. .....plus he is 37 and takes up too much room in the car. Thanks again for a job well done!

Thanks Sir, for that great video. You explained it and made my job easy. Actually, I have a 2012 Corolla and my Car carpet got soaked while driving in the rain. SO I took it to the dealership and they told me to replace the entire sunroof although they told me that the rubber gasket is cracked but they do not do the rubber gasket alone. Can you please help me to figure out where you purchased the parts from- I mean website etc and is it possible to replace the rubber gasket alone. So far it has not been an encouraging research on the web as the rubber gaskets do not seem compatible with my sunroof on corolla 2012. Thanks

Thank You, I found it. Costed me $50 with shipping charges. On the other hand, the Dealership price was $1000 to replace the entire windshield.

What was the part number of the replacement glass assembly? I'm looking at the Toyota drawings, it just looks like a piece of glass with nothing to bolt on to.

I tossed out the box with the part number on it. I was able to find it online. Toyota P/N 63201-06060. Good luck!

I broke my 17 rx350 shark fin. Back up into garage door. Dealer want to charge 6 hrs labour. $960. Is it reasonable? I ordered the parts. Planning to diy. I had removed some of other cars before for wrapping. Don’t know if this is more difficult but why 6 hrs by the book

Didn't show me what I really needed. my window is ok. How do I reinstall the plastic folded gizmos, one on each side of the window. One of mine came out. it shows one detached from the top in your repair. what keeps them inplace

At 1:45 on this video it shows how to remove it. On part 2 of this video at 1:00 it shows how to replace it after adjusting the window. There is a thin channel where it slides into and it snaps in place very easily. I hope this helps.
