I caught seven bass on a spinnerbait and lipless crankbait at a small local lake yesterday in conditions similar to what you just described. Water temperature was 65° and it was overcast with a couple rain episodes during the day, plus a front passed through during the afternoon. The six bass I caught on the spinnerbait were all relating to laydown logs or tree tops in the water along the bank. The one I caught on the 1/4 oz Rat-L-Trap just hit right at my jonboat. None were very big but it was still fun. I just thought it was cool that you posted a video today about the very conditions I fished in yesterday.
The spinner bait can be a real bass slayer. I’ll date myself. Years ago I found a white S.O.B with white Colorado blades was dynamite. Fast reeling, just in sight, caught a double limit ( limit was 10 @ 14 inches). Walked away with that tournament win. Thanks for the videos Tight lines and Godspeed
Ran almost the exact pattern you described recently and it worked. Some of my best days of fishing have been on cloudy, misty fall days. Seems like all species, not just bass, become more aggressive on rainy days in the fall.
I've always believed the more uncomfortable I am, the better the fishing is gonna be. Luckily, we can deal with the suck by having proper gear for the situation.
Great content Randy as the season is changing rapidly uo here in the northern panhandle region of Idaho, yes sir you have given me some much needed hope as the fishing is slowing down , instead of going through withdrawal....... I just need to get out there more with some warmer clothes on! Great video thank you sir.
100% I caught a 25 lb bag on a finesse squarebill almost to this same day a year ago when it was overcast and drizzling with a bit of south wind. All shallow, and almost every spot I pulled up on i caught fish. October to December are my favorite months to fish in north Texas, now if someone could just send some rain our way 💀
Could not get a bite on topwater at all. Ended up catching them on cypress trees texas rigged creature bait. The bass in this rain wanted a bottom bait. Skip all topwater and catch more bass on the bottom!

Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits are some of my biggest producers during rainy days.
You literally stole MY message!!!

This so the times that I love , cloudy , overcast , slam fest
I wish it would rain here. Hasn’t rained in southern Indiana for about three months. Water levels are 5 feet low.
What if comes with a big cold front with a high or rising barometric pressure?

Just broke my pb on a spinnerbait in the rain. 3.08
