    Hi Silki. Excellent reporting as always. Your knowledge always shows and the imagery is so helpful. Thank you.

    I assume the tremendous weight of glacier ice in the Bardabunga caldera is contributing to the lava seeking out pipelines to the edges, where the recent eruptions have occurred. Only if these escape routes become blocked, the magma will explode from the centre. Similar to the Svartsengi magma chamber not (yet) erupting directly under the Blue Lagoon. Just my theory.

    Thank you for another fascinating and, at times, horrifying, detailed review of this Icelandic volcanic activity. I wish you and your sweet doggies health and safety.

    Back to Iceland with Silki, that's nice to see. And, of course, all the best to Apollo (and the other two).
    Your report was more thorough than the one I saw yesterday on another channel, and a good night's sleep, that's the least you have earned. My thoughts are with you.

    Hello Silki. If you look at the live cameras near Grindavik, you can see how the trucks and bulldozers are still working on the defenses around the power plant. I look forward to your next update and the best for Apollo!!

    Hi Silki.
    Svartsengi is due again to erupt. It's coming up on 6 weeks. Which is around the average period between eruptions on Reykanes

    Silki, can we state that the planet is more active as a whole,?.
    4 weeks ago the number of erupting volcsno,s ehas 45 .
    That seems a lot to me , but i am not educated enough about that ...yet😊.
    Very interesting developements in iceland.
    When i see iceland on the thumbnail, it is always unique stuff.
    Wonderfull , amazing country🎉

      There's always lots of activity going on all the time all over.
      But Iceland is in a class of its own right now. I personally worry about it ultimately turning into an LIP (lol - paranoid)

    • @ange5673
      @ange5673 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@melodiefrances3898 sorry, what do you mean turning into a LIP? What does LIP stand for?

    • @eisikater1584
      @eisikater1584 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ange5673 I asked Wikipedia:
      "A large igneous province (LIP) is an extremely large accumulation of igneous rocks, including intrusive (sills, dikes) and extrusive (lava flows, tephra deposits), arising when magma travels through the crust towards the surface. The formation of LIPs is variously attributed to mantle plumes or to processes associated with divergent plate tectonics."
      Want to read further? Beware! That might disturb you:
      "The formation of some of the LIPs in the past 500 million years coincide in time with mass extinctions and rapid climatic changes, which has led to numerous hypotheses about causal relationships. LIPs are fundamentally different from any other currently active volcanoes or volcanic systems."
      Reading further might disturb you even more:
      "In 1992, Coffin and Eldholm initially defined the term [...]"
      A geologist named "Coffin"? I think I wouldn't become a volcanologist if my last name was "Coffin", or have it changed.

    2025 is shaping up to be a very interesting year when it comes to volcanism. I'm keeping my eye on Hawai'i as the magma chamber under Kilauea is starting to show signs of over being a little over pressurized and with no Puu'O'o acting as a blow off valve to alleviate some of that pressure, it wouldn't surprise me to see some developments along the East Rift Zone. Maybe a reactivation or even a new vent.

    Thank you for your commitment - you are great!
    The story that a Pacific volcano is supposed to have triggered the French Revolution by causing a famine - I think is just conspiracy nonsense ^^
    No famine is known to have occurred in any of France's neighboring countries during this decade! Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain - no crop failures/famine!?
    The ash did not land anywhere in the world! In no country in the world in the ten years surrounding the revolution... hmm???
    The volcano from the other side of the world is throwing its dirt directly at France... Wow, if you play golf you can get a Porsche for that ;-)
    Arson in France is out of the question, it was the weather!
