Just got one of these for my singer. The best thing so far is that we dont have to rely on a lazy soundman to switch the vocal effects. The singer can dial in the entire set and control all the effects himself. Great product!
Hey thanks for sharing these videos! I just bought one of this units at Guitar Center and it really has improved my vocal abilities! I am new at TC Helicon products. The efxs are great and very easy to use, custom-Editing programming is a piece of cake! There are a few things which will make this unit better such as having an On/Off switch rather than having to unplugging The power each time and perhaps adding 1/4 phono plugs outputs, the XLR stereo outs are fine but since i too intended on using it for recording purposes usually computer sound cards are not compatible With XLR connectors...So i had no other option than to run to Radio Shack to get all that i needed to make my own cables.Other than that is a great vocals investment. I am working on a new álbum and all vocals will have the use of this unit.
Hi Exavier, glad to have you aboard! The unit is designed to be unplugged so that's why we don't have a switch. Our units are typically geared towards connecting to pro audio gear that very rarely uses phono connections. Those are unbalanced and pretty easy to get signal noise. I'd suggest using USB if you don't have an audio interface. Here's a video on that: th-cam.com/video/2ZtDlAQRs8Y/w-d-xo.html
I love TC-Helicon's I'm a Singer& songwriter I love music so much is my life . When do concerts sometime's my backup singer cant come or late with this im going sound really amazing thanks .
i love this machine, i have only used some of the vocal effects customized. Can't wait to explore more. Nice fun piece if you like to have fun with friends and family doing karaoke or creating your own songs. If you don't care to use a computer this is the way to go.
Hey - I use the voicelive play for industrial/rock and electronic stuff. It's very adaptable. The effects are also very easy to edit so you can set up the fx blocks to suit your own taste. Might be helpful if TC featured different singers showcasing what it can do though... :)
It has internal mics to listen to what your guitar (or any ambient sound) is playing without having to plug it in. So if you're at practice or live, it listens to what everyone is playing - which everyone SHOULD be playing in the same key (do not confuse key with note). It figures what key you are in automatically without the need for an "alternative external input" telling it what key it should be in. There is also the option to set the key manually.
I have a couple Acoustic Plays and my drummer has bought Voicelive Play to sing through. We like to set the keys to stick to a patch (C Maj2) for example, which in the Acoustic Plays seems to save just fine, but with the Voicelive Plays we can't seem to get this to stick. For example, we have set the up/down functionality to 'set key' which it allows, but each time we access it again, its picked some random key and maj/min variant, even when we haven't changed the patch. Any ideas on how to lock the key?
I just purchased one and I love it. The option of having the unit run on 2 9 volt batteries would be great. Some times I sing outdoors and electricity is not around or just a simple set up process.
TC-Helicon I just purchased your (MP75) microphone that works with it, and I saw your video on how to use the device when recording to computer via USB. This looks like it will not only be fun to use, but fun to play with. Keep the products coming.
Hi Jeff, If you have audio coming in via the Aux-In or USB or you've got the RoomSense mics set to Ambient/Auto, with the Harmony set to Auto, the Play will figure out the Key for you. It's more accurate via Aux or USB, but works well with RoomSense, depending on how close it is to a chordal instrument.
Good little unit, but the issue I have with this is that there are no separate controls for reverb, delay, and harmony. You have only the HIT button to control the effect/s you assign to it-unless you maybe purchase a switch pedal. This limits the amount of control you have over your vocal sound. I do use a VoiceLive 3, so I am used to having absolute control over what effect is on or off, as there are designated switches for reverb, delay, and harmony.
Hey, the VoiceLive Play is specifically targeted at people who are new to effects. At the same time it has enough options for the power user, to which you seem to belong. You always have the option to remove the song/artist presets manually. Also, hooking it up to VoiceSupport will allow you to import hundreds of new presets to chnage things up! :-)
I have been looking for a high quality vocal processor. That gives the singer some control over how effects are used on their vocals. I have watch many videos for vocal processors and most are very dreadful. This one really does the job, I got to see and hear how it will sound if used in stereo. How to only activate the harmonies when you want them on certain parts, which gives a more realistic approach to how vocals sound with harmonies. On certain phrases and not always on which sounds unnatural. When I look at demos, I want to see them used in the application it was designed for. Great job. I think it is great it has a library of fx based on popular songs. Whether you use it or not it can be very useful for a cover band, plus the fx are studio quality.
The effects used on vocals are common to all genres, so you could totally use this for rock/metal. Just because a preset is modeled after a Britney song, doesn't mean the effects themselves aren't appropriate to other genres. Listen for the sound you like, not necessarily the title of the preset. Hope that makes sense!
Guys I have an issue with mine.. It seems like the whole machine works like a mic, so it feedbacks like crazy and you can hear me clicking the buttons through the signal... But it also causes for a severe feedback even when I have the mic gain completely closed.. Any ideas what might be the issue?!!
Hi MrMissingClue, The practice mode isn't looking at a particular key, just how close you are to each individual note. The accuracy score you see is the "total" of all the notes you've sung and the displayed percentage is an average of those notes. Hope that makes sense!
Hi! Does this have a tone button or tone effect like the Perform V and other TC-Helicon products so that my voice can be compressed and EQ'd? The effects offered in this unit interest me but I am also looking at the TC Helicon Perform V. I like the idea of the perform V because it has a tone button which seems give you a nice crisp studio sound and a separate talk button (I rap so I want to easily be able to perform with no effects from time to time). Also outside of a bit of auto tune, all I really need is reverb and delay or double, another reason why the perform V interests me since I think I will have all my bases covered there. I am a hip-hop artist doing many lives shows and the biggest point of feedback that I have received is that my vocals sound dry. I don't have the luxury of having an engineer setting up my sound so I want to come to my shows with this already figured out which is why I am interested in this product.
1. Download voice support software on their website (don't launch the software yet!) 2. hook up the unit to your pc via usb. Windows should automatically detect the device and install the drivers. 3. After the drivers are installed, launch the software and you're set.
I'm buying this so hard. I sing and play guitar so I'm used to shelling out cash for pedals and this is so reasonably priced for what it is. My live performances are gonna be so much better once I get my hands on this.
Nice! If you play guitar, you might want to consider a Play Electric. Even if you don't use the onboard guitar effects, the In/Thru can go to your amp/pedals. The benefit is that you'll capture the guitar chords to generate harmony without having to set key/scale.
this video is like 8 years old! and while its still great! i cant imagine there's been no software updates for it? maybe its time for an updated video??
I think it's on the 2nd 3rd video too that you can set - say your reverb, or your main voice to have distortion after "X" gain level. So if you want clean while you're singing one part, say a softer type verse, but as you start to get louder, like in the chorus or bridge it will add the distortion so you can still save your Hit for something else like duplicator or the bullhorny/telephone sound
I just purchased the play for myself, im a drummer so i didnt want to spend the extra 100 bucks either, but reading the manual i found out that i could run a live channel into the aux, which im doing from my mixing boards phone jack, to get the chord recognition. theres a setting inside the box for it in the setup as well
now in 2024, what to get? I formally sing,, I am not a guitarist... I play some piano, harmonica and drums.. shall I still get the VoiceLive 3 extreme, or am I better off with the VOice live play or just the 3 as those are cheaper?.. how to think now in 2024 with all tech coming out? thanks! from the Future!
HI Poppa, It's placed in a relatively "hidden" position in order to prevent accidental knocks and level changes during performance. Since these units are on the road a fair bit, we want to make sure the mic level stays put after it has been adjusted during sound check/setup.
Can you connect an external volume pedal to control the gain of the VoiceLive Play since there's a pedal input socket on the gear? How's the configuration? Thanks in advance for the advice!!
Hello! I just purchased one of these. Is there any way to mute/cancel whatever is plugged into the Aux input from showing up on the XLR Output? I want to drive the harmony with a send from my guitar amp, but don't want that guitar signal to pass thru the VoiceLive on the XLR output. Make sense? Also, on the Setup menu there is are settings for the Aux input (i.e. Live; tracks; Monitor) ... what is the Monitor setting used for?
I have an interesting problem with my unit after a couple years. It powers on, I can hear the voice come through, I can switch to differents presets and modify them. Yet the problem is it all sounds the same, its no longer modifying the input sound in any way? Anyone else have this issue? It worked well for years and now it is really just working as a pass through!
So I've had the VLP for about a year now and while I enjoy it I'm a little bummed that there's been no new presets for quite some time. I do create my own but it's pretty sweet to have some already pre-done for current tunes. Saves some work. Fun product.
The Heart of Rock & Roll: A Tribute To Huey Lewis and The News Heya, with over 1000 presets out there for download via VoiceSupport, you can definitely use lots of them across many different songs. Don't worry about matching the title of the preset to the specific song it might reference. The presets can apply to tons of different music.
Hi MaadDaawg, There's no Blues Genre, but I'd try all sorts of presets to see what you like. Even though presets fall in certain genres based on the song they're built from, effects like Reverb, Delay and Harmony are common to all styles of music, so a hard rock song's effects could literally be exactly the same as a Clapton tune.
Hello.. can you use a splitter cable such as 2 female to male from tc voicelive to mixer instead of 2 separate cables going left and right and 2 separate channels on mixer to achieve the stereo sound?? I only want to use 1 channel on my mixer instead of 2 for my vocal. Thank you.
I Googled this singer: "Georgia Murray is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose 2009 song titled "We'll Never Know" was plagiarized by composer Bahnus to create the song "Swing" for Korean pop star Lee Hyori. "Swing" became the number one song in Korea on April 4, 2010." lol...
Thanks for the feedback! It's tricky to balance direct control and simplicity in a product like VoiceLive Play. I often suggest people use a Switch3 if they want to have a few effects always available in a stompbox style setup, then use HIT for combos of effects and the Switch3 for individual access.
If I remember correctly from the other vids I've watched Rock and metal are two of the Genres they have presets for, You've got your distortion and everything else too. One of the demos showed the "enter sandman" setting which was pretty cool. They made it so you can use it for anything.
Effect 7 Gorgeous Hall shows that 6 of the 7 effects are OFF. Only the Reverb is set to HIT. Wouldn't that mean when the Hit light is NOT ON, there are no effects???? THANKS for your help.
I have an issue where my guitar amp is picked up by the mic- with certain effects the guitar seems bizarrely amplified with the effect through the PA. Is there any sort of noise gate adjustment, or threshold that can be set?
So, yes, I'm just finding this 8 years later... Anyhow, what I'm hoping it can do is: Reverb, Delay, Harmony, Doubling and Octave (up & down). It looks like it can do most of these things but I'm not 100% sure about Doubling and Octave up/down. Thanks.
@MrTheKurgan I have a couple Acoustic Plays and my drummer has bought Voicelive Play to sing through. Love it, it's just what I needed, it's handy and very powerful ! Thank you ! There is just one thing I don't understand, in the practice mode, doesn't it directly shows you in witch Key your in looking to the analysis on the left ?
why is it that everyone seems to be using live mics and never a studio microphone? is there something wrong with using this for studio recording or is it only made for live performances?
Did you try a cable that goes 1/4male to 1/8male to run from an out the board - or last monitor to the aux in for the iPods and such? I know no one needs more chords hanging around the stage, but it may be a better alternative to the GTX if you like this particular pedal better. The GTX has the inputs for the guitar but I don't think it has all the other cool things you can do due to the internal mics, like practice with no mic, etc.
+Official DramaSydE In these videos we had a mic connected to the mic input and 2 xlr cables going to an audio interface for stereo out. Is there something specific about your setup that you'd like help with?
I'm not new to vocal pedals, but I bought this one and love all the many features and so much room for presets and I love the voice support etc etc - except I cannot use it in a live band setting! I have literally spent MONTHS putting in my bands repertoire and having two or three different presets per song. I took it to band practice and it was awesome. But I got to the gig and it all went out the window! It's like it just goes berserk on me! PLEASE! Is there just a live setting that I can set and forget? Yes I do the vocal volume to just go green - but as of right now, after trying a second gig where I had to put it away and pull out my Boss again, it is going into the red even when the wheel is way down ... One minute it's green and the next it's flipping out. And it's doing it at home without it being connected to a PA. It's like it's having a tantrum all the time and then comes right for a bit. I'm not one to admit defeat, but the bottom line is - it's just bloody unreliable and as for easy to use - I beg to differ! What a let down! I am sure it's to do with the initial setup - and if any musicians can help me out I would be really grateful - but I will also add, the lack of an on and off switch and the short flimsy power chord upside down is extremely disappointing and a pain in the arse. A decent power supply is quite crucial one would think.. . The unit has potential but it needs to be reliable so you can plug in and play and I am just not finding it to be one bit! I could be doing something wrong - and if so, please please can someone help here? A live setting. Someone please gimme a live setting!
I have a few tips in case a sound technician makes the sound at a concert: 1. Set SETUP / TONE STYLE to OFF. The sound technician will then adjust the EQ / compressor the way he/she wants. 2. Set SETUP / OUTPUT to MONO and set SETUP / LEAD MUTE to ON. Thus, on the Right XLR output you can hear the dry vocals ("Lead"), and on the Left XLR output you can hear everything else (the effects applied to the Lead, the harmony and the effects applied to the harmony). Glue on a piece of light-colored tape and rename the XLR outputs ("DRY", "MONO"). If you send both outputs to the FOH mixer, the sound technician can only give you the Lead to the monitor. This is especially useful if you also use Transducer effects. 3. Set MIX / OUT LEVEL to -10dB to get mic output level. At 0dB the signal is really hot.
Thank you so very much for your reply! I don't use a sountech but these tips are extremely interesting and I am very grateful to you for taking the time! I am looking forward to putting them to use!
@@jaedduring3640 Hi Jaed! The advice given above is very good. Also, if your device is behaving erratically it may be worth contacting our care team through the "support" link at www.musictribe.com . If it is a hardware issue and not an issue with your devices settings they can help fix it. :)
@@tchelicon again thank you for taking the time! I am going to apply what you have mentioned and hope that it solves my issues! There's so many great things about this pedal and I am gutted I can't use it! I will contact support if this doesn't solve the problem - and take a video so they understand the erratics, but here's hoping that your first answer is the one!
I'm enjoying my pedal. crazy question - I'm wondering if there's a way to plug two microphones into it at the same time - I know it only has one mic in, but, Is there an XLR splicer or some way I could rig it?
DJ Candy Durant The units aren't intended for multiple inputs, since we need a single lead note to generate harmony/doubling from. You could run the unit in an Aux send/return loop from a mixer if you only wanted to use the spatial effects like Reverb/Delay, but for multiple vocalists we'd recommend a separate unit for each.
The room sense mics don't work great in live loud settings with background noise and other instruments. Is there any way to run guitar through the AUX and shut the external mics. Please add a guitar in to this awesome pedal. And battery operated???? that would make this a perfect outdoor or small venue all in one unit.
I just got mine.. I wonder if its ok to hear a constant noise in background? The more I turn on the mic gain, the more noise I’m getting while the mic audio is not getting loud.
Would the Switch 3 pedal substitute for the 3 buttons on the play? I want to keep the play within arms reach and use the switch 3 as a footswitch to trigger the HIT button.
You've probably gotten an answer by now, but just in case you didn't: The Switch3 can control looping, but I don't know if any other functions can be assigned ("mapped") to its switches. Here's something from the manual: "Note: When a Switch3 is plugged in, Key/Scale selection is automatically assigned to UP/DN .When the Switch3 is unplugged, UP/DN remains Key/Scale and will need to be changed in the setup menu if you wish to assign UP/DN back to Looping." I bought a Switch 3 with my VLP, but haven't used it yet. (Oh, no! Another Learning Curve!)
I believe this unit will not run on batteries ... can the USB input be used to run from a portable powerbank? eg when busking/camping etc and no power is available Otherwise I would have to buy a portable power supply which will double to cost 😞
I notice this (very entertaining) walkthrough is from 2012, has this machine been changed or upgraded since then? It's definitely on my wishlist, number one in fact!
I know this is old, but I'll take a shot. If I'm between getting the new Voicelive play OR both the Correct XT & Create XT, what would give me a more "professional" sound and a better anti feedback response? Also, is the Tone button "effect" the same in both devices?
I've been really excited about buying this pedal, but have been reading a number of reviews that say it's not useful when being backed by a full band in a live setting (i.e. practice space, small shows, etc.). Can it be used in that setting? All of the demo videos I've seen have either been solo singers, or someone singing with only a guitar. I play bass in the band also, if that matters.
We typically show smaller solo setups in videos simply because production is a lot easier to deal with. Plenty of people use the products in a live setting in bigger bands. The things to be mindful of (at least my opinion) are: 1. Keep in mind that "bleed" from the band can interfere with generating harmony voices. So, pick a mic with good rejection and set your gain when you're quite close to the mic. If you stand back a foot when you sing with a loud band, a lot of the band will make it into the unit. 2. Be mindful that Tone adds EQ, Compression, De-Ess and Gate to your mic, so you need to flatten any EQ at the PA (from the sound tech's perspective, it's more like getting a fully processed signal like a backing track or keyboard, so they shouldn't treat it like "every other SM58 and singer" they are used to). Flattening the FOH mixer can also greatly reduce the chance of feedback, which will immediately be blamed on the unit ;) 3. For the Play specifically, RoomSense can be great, but also sometimes unreliable based on what the unit can "hear" of chords in the room. I'd go with a more reliable key/scale setup by saving the key and scale for each song/preset manually so there's no room for confusion. 4. Have fun owning your own sound as a singer! It can really be transformative to have complete control over your sound at all times during a show and can really have a big impact on the audience.
I am a horrible singer, and that is giving myself some credit. I am looking for something that will work with my roland fa06. I am not a pro, it's just a hobby for fun. I don't play in bands or perform for people. Will this connect to my Roland and can i play notes to get a realistic choir sound when i sing into the mic? I do not want to hear my voice in the recordings...lol Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.
what would be a good setting for singing STP music? Please include delay / reverb settings. Does it help to set the settings on the same key the song is performed in?
Hey Tim! Unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with STP music, but if you're going to be using Harmonies, then you'd need to either set the key you're singing in, or use Roomsense to listen to the chord progression of the music occuring in the room.
como formateo el pedal manualmenye va ya varias ocasiones que se me cuelga y no lo puedo utilizar y la unica solucion es formatearlo. espero su respuesta lo antes posible.
I snagged a voicelive play last week. It seems ok but is rather limited with regard to vocal effects - especially traditional effects like compression, eq, reverb and chorus. I am considering the voicelive 2 touch. Will it give me more options as far as vocal effects go? I am really looking for more control over the essentials. Right now I'm not convinced that the vl2 touch will give me what I am looking for
We don't offer fully manual control of EQ, Comp, De-Ess or Gate in any products other than VoiceLive 3. Tone amalgamates all those into our adaptive block. There's tons of reverbs to choose from, along with the uMod block handling chorus, flange etc. Touch 2 doesn't have any further control than the Play has over the EQ etc. and shares the same Reverb and uMod blocks, though there are some extra controls available to tweak within the styles themselves.
Do you think is much difference between this pedal and the acoustic version? Could I use an acoustic guitar with this just as good as with the acoustic version?
The black scrolling button in the middle on my VoiceLive Play is not connecting anymore; it just spins without catching anything or clicking. I even took the rubber part off and tried to rotate the metal hub underneath and it still spins freely. Any thoughts?
Great unit! Always use it for live performances with my bands! But some PAguys came to me saying my voice often sounded out of phase? Do you know why that is? Also some feedback problems when i have lots and lots of delay and reverb but I guess that's normal in that situation with wedges. :)
Simon Nuytten Hmm, I'd check out the output mode. Perhaps if you were sending a stereo output and they weren't expecting it they could have summed the channels by mistake or something? Make sure that the FOH isn't adding any effects at all, even EQ or compression etc. to your Play signal. That will compound with Tone from the Play and be much more feedback prone.
TC-Helicon Ok thank you! I'm also using the Play mono but haven't checked if i'm in mono mode so I guess that could be some explanation? And also Mostly I'm using a split before the Play to have a dry signal of my voice so FOH can mix these 2 signals when he wants.. but maybe that isn't the best idea either?
Ive just purchased voiceliveplay,,,,there is a free 500 preset download that gives you the names of song, artist and preset name,,,,thats fantastic,,,what isnt fantastic is that i cant find the same info for the presets in my voiceplay,,,,a few of the preset names are pretty obvious, but most are not and its infuriating. Does anyone know anywhere that the list can be found?,,,cheers guys
I'm playing guitar while I sing, so I'm thinking the button on the MP75 may not be all that useful for me? Also, I see that there is a ROCK genre, but are there also presets for blues?
Im not at all happy with this purchase so far. I just bought one of these and I can't hear any audible harmony on the headphones that I'm using , even when I have it to 0db the harmony effects and I have the button on. I'm currently just plugging in to headphones to understand what's possible but I see that in the demo the woman has no headphones. I hear essentially just myself and no harmony. There MIGHT be a harmony in there but if there is I can't hear it. Ive tried a few variations with high , with high and higher, with low . I've also had it set to Auto and the key I am in. Additionally the control is set to ON. Not sure if I have a lemon or if harmony isn't compatible with headphones....
do you have to select the key for the harmony for each song ? or does it have automatic like the voice live 1 ???? i don't want to have to set a key for every song i'm singing.
Love this pedal. Had for a couple of years. Unfortunately the scroll wheel has broken no apparent reason definitely not dropped . Any availabile parts or easy way to fix ? I'm in the UK.

Hey - I use the voicelive play for industrial/rock and electronic stuff. It's very adaptable. The effects are also very easy to edit so you can set up the fx blocks to suit your own taste. Might be helpful if TC featured different singers showcasing what it can do though... :)
Great box. I’m gonna look into getting one. The vocalist gal is stellar!
The option of having the unit run on 2 9 volt batteries would be great. Some times I sing outdoors and electricity is not around or just a simple set up process.
Heya runman1271, we'd love to run things on battery and are definitely exploring the option for future products. Glad you're having fun with your VLP!
TC-Helicon
I just purchased your (MP75) microphone that works with it, and I saw your video on how to use the device when recording to computer via USB.
This looks like it will not only be fun to use, but fun to play with.
Keep the products coming.
Hi Jeff,
If you have audio coming in via the Aux-In or USB or you've got the RoomSense mics set to Ambient/Auto, with the Harmony set to Auto, the Play will figure out the Key for you.
the key is Bflat minor.
nice work,big up
I have been looking for a high quality vocal processor.
Also, this pedal is great. Usable features for all genres.
Because we all love to hear adele over and over again ...I just want to know how to use this thing.
Bought an updated version 4 years ago-great unit that's superior to software effects-has great guitar effects has well.
Never hurts to have an attractive woman to demo a product. I do love the effects. :)
Hi MrMissingClue,
The practice mode isn't looking at a particular key, just how close you are to each individual note.
1. Download voice support software on their website (don't launch the software yet!)
2. hook up the unit to your pc via usb.
The benefit is that you'll capture the guitar chords to generate harmony without having to set key/scale.
this video is like 8 years old! and while its still great! i cant imagine there's been no software updates for it? maybe its time for an updated video??
no - we all have to sing Rolling in the Deep
I think it's on the 2nd 3rd video too that you can set - say your reverb, or your main voice to have distortion after "X" gain level. So if you want clean while you're singing one part, say a softer type verse, but as you start to get louder, like in the chorus or bridge it will add the distortion so you can still save your Hit for something else like duplicator or the bullhorny/telephone sound
I just purchased the play for myself, im a drummer so i didnt want to spend the extra 100 bucks either, but reading the manual i found out that i could run a live channel into the aux, which im doing from my mixing boards phone jack, to get the chord recognition. theres a setting inside the box for it in the setup as well
Bought it!!!!!!
Hi Matthew,
If you have a TRS connection on your mic, you could get an XLR to TRS adapter, but most "pro" level mics are XLR.
Can you connect a keyboard or guitar on the mp3 input and do harmony?
cool video!!!
I'm buying one! Sold!
now in 2024, what to get? I formally sing,, I am not a guitarist... I play some piano, harmonica and drums.. shall I still get the VoiceLive 3 extreme, or am I better off with the VOice live play or just the 3 as those are cheaper?.. how to think now in 2024 with all tech coming out?
thanks! from the Future!
HI Poppa,
It's placed in a relatively "hidden" position in order to prevent accidental knocks and level changes during performance.

Roomsense
How can I change this parameter?
I have an interesting problem with my unit after a couple years. It powers on, I can hear the voice come through, I can switch to differents presets and modify them. Yet the problem is it all sounds the same, its no longer modifying the input sound in any way? Anyone else have this issue? It worked well for years and now it is really just working as a pass through!
Would you recommend some Presets for Metal music ?
Yep, but the Touch has 4 voices of harmony and the Play has 2, though you can use doubling for Octave up/dn in addition to the 2 Harmony voices.
Hi MaadDaawg,
There's no Blues Genre, but I'd try all sorts of presets to see what you like.
Thank you.
Can you program your own combos like: delay+chorus+ flange or is it all presets?
You can program chorus+delay or flange+delay because the chorus and flange are in the same effect block.
I want this !!!
I Googled this singer:
"Georgia Murray is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose 2009 song titled "We'll Never Know" was plagiarized by composer Bahnus to create the song "Swing" for Korean pop star Lee Hyori. "Swing" became the number one song in Korea on April 4, 2010."
lol...
she served me a coffee at Dunkin Donuts last week.
You guys really need to make an Update that let's us control EQ and compressor
Very cool I want one
It needs a 2nd hit function to allow for the bridges in songs, ihave to build separate presets for bridges.
Can I connect this to my electric guitar processor to follow in key etc?
Would recommend to use a second hit button, or to split the hit button for different settings. Regards
Thank you , great job its help me a lot
Do you have any idea whether or not the manufacturer has discontinued these models?
They appear to be out-of-stock everywhere…
Effect 7 Gorgeous Hall shows that 6 of the 7 effects are OFF. Only the Reverb is set to HIT. Wouldn't that mean when the Hit light is NOT ON, there are no effects???? THANKS for your help.
I have an issue where my guitar amp is picked up by the mic- with certain effects the guitar seems bizarrely amplified with the effect through the PA. Is there any sort of noise gate adjustment, or threshold that can be set?
Can I use in live kareok whith empli. But need two mic Male female work?
So, yes, I'm just finding this 8 years later... Anyhow, what I'm hoping it can do is: Reverb, Delay, Harmony, Doubling and Octave (up & down). It looks like it can do most of these things but I'm not 100% sure about Doubling and Octave up/down. Thanks.
I’m looking for a printable list of the presets. I don’t find one on your website. It would be a big help.
Hi Guys, I just purchased this. is it possible to have the signal dry until I press down on a pedal for effects?
@MrTheKurgan
Great voice Georgia ;)
Love it, it's just what I needed, it's handy and very powerful ! Thank you !
There is just one thing I don't understand, in the practice mode, doesn't it directly shows you in witch Key your in looking to the analysis on the left ?
I think there’s a fire in her heart
why is it that everyone seems to be using live mics and never a studio microphone? is there something wrong with using this for studio recording or is it only made for live performances?
Did you try a cable that goes 1/4male to 1/8male to run from an out the board - or last monitor to the aux in for the iPods and such? I know no one needs more chords hanging around the stage, but it may be a better alternative to the GTX if you like this particular pedal better. The GTX has the inputs for the guitar but I don't think it has all the other cool things you can do due to the internal mics, like practice with no mic, etc.
can you please show how this is hooked up?
+Official DramaSydE In these videos we had a mic connected to the mic input and 2 xlr cables going to an audio interface for stereo out. Is there something specific about your setup that you'd like help with?
ahhhh the light bulb is on lol, thank you so much
do they ever demo it
I'm not new to vocal pedals, but I bought this one and love all the many features and so much room for presets and I love the voice support etc etc - except I cannot use it in a live band setting!
I have a few tips in case a sound technician makes the sound at a concert:
Here's something from the manual: "Note: When a Switch3 is plugged in, Key/Scale selection is automatically assigned to UP/DN .When the Switch3 is unplugged, UP/DN remains Key/Scale and will need to be changed in the setup menu if you wish to assign UP/DN back to Looping."
I bought a Switch 3 with my VLP, but haven't used it yet. (Oh, no! Another Learning Curve!)
Is this pedal suitable for 2 mics if I use an XLR split? Cheers
I believe this unit will not run on batteries ... can the USB input be used to run from a portable powerbank? eg when busking/camping etc and no power is available
Otherwise I would have to buy a portable power supply which will double to cost 😞
It can only be powered from the round 12VDC input.
Is this good for recording in the studio
I notice this (very entertaining) walkthrough is from 2012, has this machine been changed or upgraded since then? It's definitely on my wishlist, number one in fact!
TC-Helicon usually releases firmware updates for it.
The things to be mindful of (at least my opinion) are:
Flattening the FOH mixer can also greatly reduce the chance of feedback, which will immediately be blamed on the unit ;)
Super 👌
I am a horrible singer, and that is giving myself some credit. I am looking for something that will work with my roland fa06. I am not a pro, it's just a hobby for fun. I don't play in bands or perform for people. Will this connect to my Roland and can i play notes to get a realistic choir sound when i sing into the mic? I do not want to hear my voice in the recordings...lol
Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.
TC-Helicon VoiceLive Play has no MIDI In, so I don't recommend it.
what would be a good setting for singing STP music? Please include delay / reverb settings. Does it help to set the settings on the same key the song is performed in?
Hey Tim! Unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with STP music, but if you're going to be using Harmonies, then you'd need to either set the key you're singing in, or use Roomsense to listen to the chord progression of the music occuring in the room.
Can I have it set for one setting for the verses and then hit a button to get harmony for the chorus?
Yes! You can do this using the "hit" button
como formateo el pedal manualmenye va ya varias ocasiones que se me cuelga y no lo puedo utilizar y la unica solucion es formatearlo. espero su respuesta lo antes posible.
+TC-Helicon ok so if im looking for more options with regard to vocals, the vl3 /vl3 extreme could offer more than my current device?
How do I hook up the TC helicon to a keyboard??
Do you think is much difference between this pedal and the acoustic version? Could I use an acoustic guitar with this just as good as with the acoustic version?
Not at all. The Voicelive Play doesn't have any inputs or presets for a guitar. It's strictly for voice.
The black scrolling button in the middle on my VoiceLive Play is not connecting anymore; it just spins without catching anything or clicking. I even took the rubber part off and tried to rotate the metal hub underneath and it still spins freely. Any thoughts?
Here's what to do: buy a compatible new encoder, disassemble the VoiceLive Play, solder out the faulty encoder, solder in the new encoder.
