Pete doesn't want to be a Met. That's the bottom line. He wants to play at a hitter friendly park. Citi is difficult to hit hrs in. Pete might hit 60 plus hrs at Wrigley.

That was false click bait. Ramirez allegidly changed his insta and took Cleveland off of it, but the mets have had no contact with them on a trade im told
Arte Moreno specializes in handing out franchise-killing contracts. If he significantly outbids the Mets for Alonso, that will be evidence that the Mets were right. Go enjoy finishing in last place for the remainder of your career, Pete.
Lets break down the facts...Management offered a 7 year $156M last year before rhe market was set. Denied by Alonso. Management offer a 3 year $90M with opt outs the first two (2) years. Alonso declined it. Management adjusted a final offer for $76M with incentives and opt outs and Alonso still declined!?? A Olayer dies not dictate the market (outside of Soto) and his ill advised sleeze recommendations from Boras is the one hurting him. This is simply on him and welcome Vladdy to be appreciated.
It’s important to note that the 3 Years $68M-$70M from the offer to the Mets is NPV (net present value) According to Martino, the Mets offered Pete a contract worth about $68M-$70M in present day value, with deferrals, & an opt-out. There was disagreement over the deferred money, apparently. He said, that the ultimate monetary value of the contract, would have been indisputably higher than $70M (at present day value), with the deferrals attached. He concluded, by saying that he doesn’t know if the Mets still have this offer on the table for Pete.
I'm Canadian. Not sure that pans out. Think about it, only a portion of their life will be here in Canada. Quite often these players don't move their family here, so the vast majority of their income is still spent in the United States. Sure, whatever money is spent here in Canada gets the benefit of the exchange rate. But that might represent only about 25% of their total income spent. The other 75% goes into their home and life in the United States. It still might be close to a wash, but taxes in Canada certainly are significantly higher than they are in New York. If Toronto wants to get him, they have to pay significantly more than 5 to 10 million above what New York is offering. If Toronto gets him, it's likely on a 3-year, 85 million contract with opt outs in year one and two.
Nobody is offering a Pete Alonso contract. So if someone offers him one that will be the first. Boras and Alonso are the ones floating the imaginary interest in Alonso. Angels signed Pujols a much better player than Alonso to a terrible 10 year deal so i doubt Alonso is going to get more than 3 years. Boras wants signing wars between 1 team. The trick to Boras is lower ur offer like Correia had done and Correia was still a terrible anchor to the Twins. 3 years 88 mill is the most I would give pete. Pete getting a 7 year deal is a nonstarter for any MLB team. I like pete but his Bavg is just not star level. Boras has 2 clients in the HOF Adrian beltre and Greg Maddux. U would think with the crazy overpays for his steroid abusing fakers he would have someone have a decent career?
Wherever big Pete goes he will never have the same Bond with the fans like New York I mean honestly Toronto is a trash can it's not a blue Jays country barley anyone watch them fr and the angels they ain't winning shit as long the dodgers are there but the Mets they such a big fan base even on the road it's just like their playing home with all those met fans making noise on the road fr
Jays have been in playoffs 3 of 5 years we have good starting pitching bullpen improved we need another pitcher and slugger and we are back in playoffs.

You make the most sense out of everyone
Thanks that means a lot. Im not like the other TH-camrs. Im not tying to be on radio one day
@@scatdad I'd hook up Rob with major endorsements.... Dude never responded.
What if Pete resigns & he has another subpar season. I think it's time to move on. In favor of trading for Torkelson.
Thats what I think will happen. Pete is in decline. He has another subpar year & youre stuck with him.

😮Tork is a hard pass , BUT if it keeps baty off my field ............DoNE
Torkelson is an absolute flop please God no!
@donnypotter8606 agreed
I like your broadcast,thank you
Yep, hes one of two that I feel tells it like it is.
Great vid ray
It’s a backup plan just in case so of course they have to be prepared for anything by getting vientos and Baty to practice 1B

I read an article the Mets were interested in a trade for Jose Ramirez...

I really can't see Pete signing with the Angels.
I agree i think its Boras trying to get leverage
@@MetCastPod Boras has been trying to get leverage the whole time. He has none now.
everything is guesswork. stearns doesnt leak

MURAKAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY Goood Player but can be emotional. He Wants to WIN. Becareful of the Dodgers!! They’re our main competition!
As a Jays fan I’m willing to take a risk for a meh season. We need a power bat.
murakami Is going to the dodgers next year as their 3rd baseman of the future

It's not upsetting to me in the least. I just don't want to hear about it anymore. If I were Stearns, I'd give Alonso a drop-dead date.
It's so funny hearing an American talk about Canadian taxes. Players are paid in USD. They spend in CAD. This offsets any taxes
I'm Canadian. Not sure that pans out.

Thats a rumor i was told was not true
i think Baty is probably more athletic than Pete. can hit .200 lol with some pop Give it a shot
The danger is if pete signs three hears and stinks we are screwed!

Nope dude rejected 7/158. Pete’s a clown 🤡
Cohen should definitely not give him the $. Im glad Cohen is giving Stearns free reign to make decisions because he isnt giving in.
Pete would be lucky to get a minor league deal from the white Sox
😂
And he should take it!😝
Torkelson is garbage
