    The moon must be an angel, her halo surely heaven sent
    Watching from above should the bells forget to ring
    And we but lonely travelers, following a ray of light
    All become the same when we begin to sing
    Round and round we all go
    Where we stop nobody knows
    Heaven meets on the earth
    For the sake of the song
    For the sake of the song
    Could you ever fly without the fear of falling?
    Does the night bird cease just because it's dawn?
    Could a candle burn with any less resilience?
    Should we never love for the fear that it may fade?
    Round and round we all go
    Where we stop nobody knows
    Heaven meets on the earth
    For the sake of the song
    For the sake of the song
    Could you ever be just for the sake of being?
    Could a melody ever be wrong?
    Could you ever sing just for the sake of singing?
    Set your spirit free for the sake of the song
    Round and round we all go
    Where we stop nobody knows
    Heaven meets on the earth
    For the sake of the song
    Round and round we all go
    Where we stop nobody knows
    Heaven meets on the earth
    For the sake of the song
    For the sake of the song
    For the sake of the song

      Does she? She sounds breathy and quite limited to me and I don't hear anything distinctive in her tone, phrasing or anything else. That said, she is competent and if you like her voice (not the same as a 'good' voice) then all power to you. I think she provides tremendous support to Blackmore and that is also a quality that one can't measure in terms of octave range, vibrato etc.
      Whilst I am not completely convinced by the Blackmore's Night stuff as being more than moderately solid folk music, I am 100% behind his decision to continue to develop as an artist (regardless of how successful he might be), rather than endlessly re-treading stuff he did in his 20's and 30's.
      I also find it more interesting than the Morse era Deep Purple. To my ear they wasted the opportunity to really use Morse as a vehicle to grow into really interesting areas, using Morse' jazz and accoustic sensibilities - something the other band members could have kept up with. Gillan would have to have been willing, or able, to do some hard work to re-train and re-cast his increasingly wrecked voice, but that too is about artistic development - if he had the stones, the dedication and if his alcoholic phase had left him with sufficient grey matter (the answer to which I don't know). My sense is that they bottled it and instead used Morse as a session man. Again, if Morse Purple is your thing, no offence intended, but I find their stuff utterly forgettable. A good mate of mine could not differ more, so it is a case of one man's drink is another man's poison.

    music is an art and should not be done for the sake of the fans weather they like something or not is their responsibility not artists.

      +Evie Addy Beautiful but this is a capitalist world and musicians have to eat.

    • @evieaddy9580
      @evieaddy9580 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so what? why ruin an artists work for the rest of the world? audience enjoyment is the audience's responsibility not the artist's i'm stating a point that fans need to put through their heads. beauty is in the eyes and ears of the beholder and if you don't like something then don't trouble it

    • @unknownr.2586
      @unknownr.2586 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Evie Addy You are changing the argument. You said musicians shouldnt make music based on what fans want, and I told you that they have, to some degree. They need money at the end and need to think if the kind of music they make can be profitable.
      The point of people hating what they dont like is another story.

    • @evieaddy9580
      @evieaddy9580 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no its not no ones going to by something they don't like so in the end that's not the point to making good music. when you feel pressured you lose passion for it. It makes things sound different and to me if they became like that i think they'd lose fans for it.

      The nice thing about Blackmore's Night is that they ARE doing "music for the sake of the music" - Richie Blackmore's great-great grandkids will be wealthy from the royalties he still collects from his work with Deep Purple, Rainbow, etc. He's not doing this for the money. The money is a nice plus.

      ***** I'm not sure the definition of 'bonus track,' but it was on the same file as another song with about a minute between the two when my sister ripped her fires at midnight cd onto the computer. I can't remember what song it was paired with, though, unfortunately.

      He did that most unusual thing - decided that rather than continue to turn out increasingly turgid versions of stuff he enjoyed in his 20s and 30s, he would pursue some artistic development. I applaud him for it. I am not totally convinced by what he is doing, but I really respect him for doing it.
