Anna, don’t worry. Mince pies contain “mincemeat”, which is not the same as minced meat. Mincemeat is traditionally chopped up dried fruit soaked in something alcoholic with some suet, normally vegetable suet these days, mixed in with spices like cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg etc. Back in the day it might be beef suet but I’d expect most regular shop bought mince pies these days to use vegetable suet so vegetarians can buy them too. Mince pies are a sweet winter treat with a warming flavour that I like served warm with a dollop of super thick cream or, because I live in Australia now, a good vanilla ice cream.
In the Middle Ages mincemeat did contain actual chunks of meat, think of a Moroccan Tagine. But over the centuries we’ve dropped the meat and just have the fruits and spices. But the name stuck.
When we were kids ( I’m now 58 so we are talking a few years ago here!) Lucozade was considered medicine by our mum and was usually bought in to you when you were in hospital. Nearly every hospital bed had a big glass bottle of it in the side table.

You can buy it in a lot of different flavours now, such as pink lemonade, apple, Tropical, the original one you were sent and some sugar-free versions. They are delicious and a Christmas staple. Usually you do not have to cook them as they are already baked, just heat them up a little or eat cold.
