Humans "need to worship gods" exactly as much as robots do; neither category of entity _needs_ to, but it can provide comfort and help to make sense of stressful or tragic events. Either category of entity would logically be susceptible to the transmission of cultural memes* such as those which comprise a given religion. Plus, what if the robot was programmed and/or taught by humans who were themselves religious? I really don't feel that any of your points hold up at all, Kiwi.
