*So the way to combat nihilism is to emulate the archetypal hero character and give your life purpose by slaying the metaphorical dragon, or those who oppose what is good.*
I was surprised and thought this recently came out, but further looking into the podcast dates, it looks like this one was released over two years ago.
I was raised mostly by my mom. Her philosophy was, when people act aggressively toward me, if I ignore them, they will lose interest and leave you alone. What actually happened was people would read "weak coward" and would act even more aggressive and violent. I am in my sixties and am just now pulling myself out. What can I do to maximize my life experience for the positive?
Well I’m 23 and female but I recommend JPs videos about naivety. They are God-sent in waking up to victimisation and passivity. Type in “Jordan Peterson naive” he also made a recent video with Robert Green the writer of 48 Laws of Power and that video is Gold too, talks upon similar topics and you’ll very much relate to Robert Greene’s anecdotes about his experience being a ‘coward’ it’s actually what motivated him to write his books.
@@alexandersutveckling8302 Yeah this has been an intuitive thing I do in the streets. Trying to ignore them is seen as weakness. You hold whatever badass energy you have and move on to your day like you're impenetrable. I'm not pretending either, they genuinely don't register as a threat even if it's 5 people. If they need so much back-up to feel brave what a bunch of pussies
46:16 so funny that "ideology" comes up, when so much of JBP's message feels like enshrined ideology. Maybe it's just me / I'm just not into his "order and chaos" model / description
@@brendenmendez8945 I think what I was thinking a year ago was that he's so adamant and rigid about his mental model, like "postmodern neo-marxist" is such a Jordan Petersonism for instance, like he's created an ideology for himself; it's funny he says he's against something he's practicing. I think in terms of order and chaos it's the idea that order is good / the best and chaos is ultimate bad / evil, but I think he has tempered this occasionally where too much order can be a bad thing, and some amount of chaos is good
Had any of the two gone crazy? I think, appropriate words should be used in face of the one you're not fan of! At least, it will help to bring good vibes in our minds!
Maybe you should check the latest Jordan Peterson update on youtube. He is on the mend now but this was obviously recorded a long time ago. He only started to vome out the other end about a month ago. He credits his daughter with saving his life.
@@hypno5690 No. It’s not just a perception. I thought exactly the same before I read this ‘vibe’ comment. “Why does he talk like he’s arguing (or defending)?”
They seem simple because theyre being explained well. If you take every concept at face value then you wont understand anything. "Clean your room" has depth beyond literally cleaning your room but if it wasnt explained youd have no way of knowing without working towards the philosophical implications yourself. And if youre smart enough and have the time enough to do that then you wouldnt be watching this video.
love yuor channel n i wish you were my dad but peterson is a professional misinformation spreader and an unstable neoliberal corporate plant. most his opinions are just unempathetic towards the poor and disabled etc and many of his ideas are based off things that just are not true

yeah, you gotta impose a story structure on your life, maintain and act it out
Beowulf is the awesomest story structure
This is by far the clearest exploration of Jordan's work! Great listen 👍

Establish your aim, confronting obstacles as they come, and attempt to accurately and truly articulate your being.

I would like more of JBP on Gita. Btw, Both Thoreau and Emerson were conversant with the Bhagvad Gita.
AOM is already at Podcast #586. I think it´s a kind of homage from Brett to JP
Is this after he came from rehab?
This interview is not from Feb 22, 2020
@ArtofManliness Please state the correct date of recording

If Jordan could get away from that vibethat he’s always yelling and defensive, it would be helpful. ☺️ Really enjoy his thoughts.

You face hardship or crisis you take benzos like he did. Not me.

You want someone genuine who actually has info and something to offer to people have Owen Benjamin on
you’re slow. you haven’t read or listened to anything of his in entirety. you fear your own existence.
He has some good person advice but his religious and political stuff is nonsense
How so?
Arthur I thought you died!
And there's me thinkin I was a fish, he says I'm a man, whatever, I'll go with flow.
That's Philosophy mate haha
