Hanabie have Harajuku-core, but Mellows have created their own parallel space with their own brand of kawaii metal. Love that the metal influence slowly overtakes the kawaii portions - quite well done!

@@PeteBandMaidFan where’s the “ignorance” if it’s true? Not all of us who like J-metal worship BabyMetal and Band-Maid. Maybe the guy didn’t need to compliment Mellow using another band as a negative, but calling it disrespectful is a bit much.
The Cute Metal label fits you perfectly. I haven't heard any other band with such contrast on their music as yours. It's absurd how yow can switch from both sounds while maintaining a coherence on the music. Love it so much 💜💜💜
When they ask me the difference between Cute Metal and Kawaii Metal, which other bands are already doing (👶🏻🤖), I think this is exactly it. Kawaii Metal is metal done cutely, but Mellows' Cute Metal switches continuously between pure cute and pure metal and then a mix of cute and metal. The first time you hear a song you have no idea where it'll take you.

I love the idea of fusing these two genres of music. I enjoy metal, but not every song or even every verse needs to be a thrasher. The cuteness adds a unique balance to the metal. There's definitely potential for this band, but I think their sound just needs a little more work. It's good, very close to being great, and I think with some time and effort they could be as legendary as Baby Metal or even Band Maid.

Kinda weird seeing two guitarists but no bassist or drummer despite the song obviously having those instruments. Are the bass and drums just programmed virtual instruments, or were guest musicians involved, or something else? I really liked the song, just curious where the “band” goes from here or how they’d play live.
In this channel there is a live recording of another song, Mikansei. There you can seethe bassist Toshi and drummer Shunji playing. They have been playing every gig since the beginning and also recorded all the songs in the album. Hopefully they will be official members, but they might have their own goals and move to a different band. They're really talented artists, but for Mellows' firsy video I think they didn't fit into the Cute Metal image that the band is trying to create. Even if the current support members change, I think Mellows will always play live with a constant lineup.
In the Mashup Records (their label) channel there's another live recording of Rabbit Love it!. It's one of their first performances but you can see both of them playing as well.

@@Wyl7 sure, I really hope there's something there that you like. They've streamed many live shows but sadly they don't have the rights to redistribute those. I do hope you can get their album one day 🤘
And to go back to the programmed virtual instruments, acoustic guitar and piano parts in other songs are indeed pre-recorded. Those parts are really short so there's no need for a constant member, but bass and drums are definitely live in every song.
