I read through them all and only then I bought the games themselves and, well, let's just say that I was aware the Chief wasn't the only remaining SPARTAN. And yes, Spartan (Lieutenant, later Commander) Sarah Palmer and the SPARTAN-IV Program appeared in Halo 4.
i played the games...got interested in the story but i didnt have any of the novels until my dad got me one or two.. and at that point i noticed in game characters refer to me as "spartan" and Master Chief, and John(only cortana ever said that thou to my memory) so master chief pertains to rank and john is the name... but the marines in halo 3 sometimes call out "Hey look its a spartan! we are saved!" kinda implying that while spartans may be rare.. they are still more then 1 atleast... so after i read the fall of reach i really understood what the spartans were i was intersted even more.. now? well i know nearly everything about the story through quite a bit of research.. even if i havent read all the books, but i did get and read one of the more recent ones.. "Last Light" which follows fred,linda, and kelly, along with some gen IIIs, at one point a green huragok(engineer) pokes its head out.. while in the story it was quite said what this new engi was.. it was more a medic then engi.. it repaired organic anything similar to how a engi repairs eletronic anything... but i cant find any info about it.. none.. think you can help?

I actually didn't know john wasn't the only spartan until after i started taking the lore more seriously(reading books reading wikis etc)
