So sad! Amazon is causing a lot of businesses to close. Meanwhile Amazon employees can’t use the restroom because they are so busy trying to get orders done
@@markdc1145 Amazon didn't cause anything? They are selling products cheap and arguably paying low wages. In market capitalism, employers are racing to the bottom.
@@nannerz1994 the 99 cent store offered themed party supplies as well and it was a dollar back in the day. Though they are now out of business as well I think this contributed to party city’s decline. There was just much more affordable items that appealed to the working class.
Where are people going to get their party supplies now? Amazon? What if the thing they bought online doesn't work out? This is why online shopping isn't as reliable
I go to dollar tree. They have almost everything. Then I try Walmart. If Walmart doesn’t have it I buy online. Usually eBay or oriental trading co has everything I need. You just have to plan a couple of weeks in advance. I haven’t gone to party city in years.
I got a ton of notices from Party City filing for Chapter 11. I haven’t worked for them in years, even moved to a different state. And not just them, but nearly 2/3 of my former retail employers have either filed for Chapter 11, faced class action lawsuits, closed for good, or all of the above.
Grocery stores and the dollar stores ran away with the balloon business! Good for them. Party City sold its balloon company some years ago. They were buying balloons from some place in China which is why there was a constant shortage.
Stores are closing mostly because of online shopping, but the funny thing is that buying online is not safe right now because packages might be stolen.
First Bed Bath & Beyond, then Big Lots, and now Party City is going out of business. I wouldn't be surprised if online shopping replaces all brick-and-mortar stores in the very near future. I also wouldn't be surprised if streaming services replace both conventional television and movie theaters and both online food ordering and drive-thru windows replace dine-in restaurants in the very near future.
High prices is the reason why people order on line cheaper party products. May be some one on high level management is pocketing money, usually that’s what happen.
1:55 Wow! Next door to Party City in Alhambra CA is Big Lots (originally Toys R Us), which has now closed down. Hopefully, once Party City closes down, the former Sears building in Alhambra CA at Fremont Plaza that later housed Toys R Us/Big Lots and Party City in the mid-1990's can get replaced with a TJ Maxx store combined with a HomeGoods store next door. TJ Maxx can replace the former Toys R Us/Big Lots space while HomeGoods can replace the former Party City space, once that store closes down.
It needs to be replaced with White Castle from New US Locations, Canadian Locations and International Locations (expect Ukraine and Antarctica) at some point in the future. I will go there at some point in the future.

We should stop feeding the monster
Amazon didn't cause anything, people have a choice and they decided online
Party city was extremely, ridiculously overpriced. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.
But people still buy from them

Spirit Halloween rubbing their hands right now!
lol 💯
Spirit christmas has another reason to move to west coast soon!

RIP Party City. You gave me my first job.
Same it was my first job starting there.
Also 99 Cent Only Stores closed all locations this year.
No they didn't. The one by my house is still open
@@successfulMillennial The 99 Cents Only store by my house went out of business. Actually all of the ones in my city are gone
What's the stores address? Wanna look it up for myself
I miss those stores!!!
Thanks amazon...
Another of my favorite store
Going out of business 😌
We should spend more money on local businesses which help our communities and economy
Instead of feeding the monster
Surprised they’ve lasted this long considering for most decorations you can just go to dollar tree.
Yeah but party City always had the best licensed stuff like themed not just colors

Such a darn shame. I used to visit Party City back when I was a kid. Another great store from my childhood sadly going out of business.
CA knows how to party. We keep it rockin! . Sadly, this party city is coming to a close. RIP 🥲
I used to love looking at the Party City ads that came in the mail as a kid..especially around Halloween.
People should reduce online shopping and buy more at your local brick and mortar stores that’ll help local businesses and economy
Party's over, you know!
Blame the American government.
I'm not surprised. I haven't shopped there for years.
Without the party part, it's just a big candy store and I dont need that much candy
Before GTA 6 is pretty wild
Oof two empty buildings next to each other
Uh oh
Party city, 99 cent stores, big lots. Sad just sad.
They should use all those decorations to throw a BIG PARTY
Dam just seen this in the internet about stores closing
Where are we going to get party decorations?

Dollar store customers are cutting back on spending this Christmas season.
Party City has stuff that no one else has This is a bummer
Party's over in the City
Big Lots closing all 963 locations also, Merry Christmas from President Biden.
It's literally because everyone shops on Amazon but okay
Big lots has been hanging on for the longest it ain’t bidens fault 😂

Moskatels in downtown L.A ( in flower district) is closing down too.

You're not allowed to complain if you shop on Amazon
I liked Big Lots
That’s sad I’ve been there for years I love that store a lot but I’ll look for another party store in the future
I will miss Party City. Many years partying with killer Batman, Disney, & Strawberry 🍓 Shortcake 🍰 4 kids & adults too
If you were using party city to take care of a family you already failed….. that’s a kids job
Haha, you're obviously sad, salty, and all alone.
