So glad to see you again. You've made it through a tough year and it was lovely to see you smile today so wholeheartedly and laugh too. Welcome back, from a fan in Wexford, Ireland.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother in law and your grandfather. What a difficult year it has been. I'm glad to hear you are receiving the benefits now. Terrible that they make it such a nightmarish procedure. The yoga with your friend is doing wonders, your face lights up when you talk about it. I haven't been doing much coloring either. I mostly stay in my house, it feels safer here. It was good to see you again, much love to you and yours from across the pond. ☺

Thank you so much and thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment. Yes, I'm very pleased I finally won and got awarded the benefits and what a lovely thing to say about how I talk about the yoga, that's so nice! I hope you feel safer soon and can venture out when you're allowed to do so, it's been a very hard time for everyone and it's going to take some getting used to. Take care and much love to you too xxx

This was an OMG moment. I had rather assumed you were gone for good (I hadn’t looked at your facebook page because I didn’t think of it) when I saw your picture, maybe on the TH-cam home page, clicked on it and I am so surprised. And so happy to see you. And to see you looking so well. Your face has more color (or as you spell it: colour); your hair looks nice; you are at home in your home. What a hard year you and Joe have had. What a wonderful outcome with your disability request. I do have something I would like you to show us. I will have to find the video you put out before so I can ask you to show it again on something larger. Lucy, I’m so happy to see you back and well. I lay here on my daybed, on my infra-red heating pad, my iPad on my stomach (which means you showed up on my stomach) and listened to you. You seemed so close to me. A lovely visit. So many people will be bald you are back. Me not the least of them.

Oh what a lovely message! Thank you so much! I hadn't really thought that anyone might miss me or particularly notice I was gone because I've never been very good at posting regularly. I wonder if the wall colour is what's making me look healthier, the red was definitely not doing me any favours! I also recorded this at night so I had artificial lights on. We'll see what everyone thinks next time I record in daylight but it's lovely that you think I look well and yes my hair is surprisingly nice at the moment, I'm pleased with it! I'll do my best with fulfilling requests. It was lovely to visit you and I'm so honoured that you're pleased to see me, I find all of this pretty astonishing really. I hope to visit you again soon!

Sorry to hear what you have been going through for so long but glad to hear things are getting better. I haven’t been successful with yoga but I have learned the importance of deep breaths. I just began colouring and that is how I found your channel. Your colouring is beautiful.

Thank you so much! Deep breaths are definitely helpful. I've found that the yoga is only really effective whilst I'm doing it but honestly, that's good enough for me, getting my mind to shh is nigh on impossible and it usually does or at least quietens down during yoga which is great so I'm very grateful for the temporary relief. I hope you enjoy your colouring, it's also very good for quieting down minds.

It’s lovely to have an update but at the same time sad to hear of everything you have been going through and the loss’s in your family. Really difficult and challenging situations. So glad that there is light though and your case went your way and the yoga with your friend is a good way of connecting and having fun.
Lockdown has been difficult but it’s a miracle I have actually got through it with the problems I have. I had appendicitis in October 2020 and that was my crazy time! Along with job loss, loosing my place to live but finding a new job and a new place to live/rent. I think actually it’s just made me greatful for the things that have gone well and things that happened for the best.
    Take care Lucy x

Thanks Ellen, it's certainly been very hard for a long time. It's been the yoga and connecting with friends and family that's kept me going.
Sorry to hear you were so ill and things got so difficult but I'm really glad to hear they're much improved now, I hope that continues. xxx

(smudgekitty here) It's so good to see you! I've been thinking about you last couple of weeks. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother-in-law, and Grandfather, that is too much for one heart to handle 😥 The system works like trash everywhere, they reversed because you pursued it, they refuse everyone first time hoping we will just go away, good on you for keeping on it! So happy for you, and yay on the backtime $. Is that not how it works if the disability is not visible, it doesn't exist. I can't wait to hug my people too. Take care of yourself, hope to see you colouring soon. I can't find the link to your blog, I know I had it ☹ P.S. You look great !

You're so lovely, thank you! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch and to comment. It's been a lot to handle and continues to be so but I'll be ok. The system is indeed awful everywhere but yes, I was very grateful to get the backdated payment so almost a year's benefits in one go. Thankfully I hadn't checked my bank account the few days prior to the letter or I'd have completely panicked seeing thousands of pounds that I wasn't expecting, the letter was shocking enough! I was expecting the decision to get overturned at the tribunal because I had strong evidence of my conditions and there's a 75% success rate at overturning the decision at that stage but it was very nice to not have to go as far as that and them just overturn it once they realised they weren't going to win. Horrid horrid process! I hope you get to hug your people soon, sending you a huge virtual hug right now! I'm due a couple of copies of JBs latest book any day now so I'll be doing my comparison post, review and hopefully some colouring in that on here soon. I wanted to make sure I explained where I'd been and what was going on before suddenly showing up as if nothing had happened. Hopefully see you soon! :)

Dear Lucy, that today of all days you appear with a new video on my subscription list is absolutely gobsmacking (in a good way!).....as I just 'found' you yesterday through Colour with Claire's channel! I've watched your two vlogs about moving house, etc. and wondered what happened with you since then. I even had a look at IG and FB, but nothing really came up. I even told my husband about you on our walk just a couple of hours ago, your condition, circumstances, your honesty and human generosity (if that even is a word) and the lovely way you're able to hold my attention listening to you. I told him that I so would like to know what happened to you, if the move went well, if you're able to sleep again (at least a little bit more), etc., but as it was so long ago that you posted any update, it seems unlikely that you may come back. Your latest vlogs were pre-Covid 19 and as this changed all of our lives, who knows where you are by now. ......And then I sat down for my daily drawing and discovered that you put up a new video! What a chance!!
Well, I'm so glad that you sit in front of your light-blue background, that you got awarded the disability payment for the next years, but I'm also very sorry about the loss of your grandfather and mother-in-law. You're such a trooper and in a way so inspiring! I just hope that you're able to make some more videos and vlogs and let us take part on your journey! I'm so glad I found you!

Your comment absolutely made my day and made me cry happy tears. What amazing timing that you only found me yesterday and I'm so honoured that you chose to follow me and already seem so invested in my ramblings! Everyone's had such a lovely reaction, it's really spurred me on to try and be brave and and make more videos and vlogs soon. I'm always a bit lost about what to talk about and what people will find interesting so if you have any ideas then do let me know. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I was really stunned to have made such an impact. xxx

@@ColouringInTheMidstOfMadness Hi Lucy, just because you asked, I would like to give some suggestions regarding what you could present on your channel, but please keep in mind that these are my own opinions and therefore do not represent the majority of your viewers. However, as I couldn't see anybody commenting on this, I feel brave enough to be the first voice. But first, I don't think that it would help to put yourself under pressure, or even imagine that people expect to churn out more videos/vlogs now. Furthermore, I hope that you don't feel pressured about TH-cam's algorithm telling you, that you should put out only reviews, for instance, as that is what your viewers are watching most.
I think there is a general 'drive' in the craft/colouring community on TH-cam to constantly review/show/work with and in the newest editions. I feel that is a problem nowadays, consumerism to an extreme. I, for instance, have too many unfinished colouring books. Why is nobody going back to editions that were released a few years ago? My shading/colouring abilities still need improvement, but it frustrates me that I constantly have to buy new books to keep up and see how a certain page/images is done by people I like to watch. Please, don't get me wrong, I don't blame the colourist, as they are often pressured by the algorithm/constantly new editions, etc, to keep viewers interested and their videos shown. I bet you that there are a few more people like me that like to take out their 'old' colouring books and colour along.

      @@ColouringInTheMidstOfMadness Oooops....wasn't finished yet....
the other things I like is learning new (to me) colouring methods and tricks. And yes, a lot of colourists are showing these, but I still think that everybody applies them differently and therefore it never gets tiring. Yes, I like colour-alongs, especially when they are accompanied by talking. It doesn't even have to be all the time. I like music over it as well.
I like reviews when they are done with material that are used for a while, not after just buying them, or after only one drawing. Reviewing an old favourite I really appreciate (of course, it should be still available to buy).
I also love when colourist add their own designs along side that what's given on the page, as sometimes the authors leave space for this especially.
And last, but not least, I prefer long-format vlogs (20min and much longer! :) as it gives me the opportunity to colour along as well.
So, these are my suggestions and I'm not sure if these are helpful in any way....but there you go! ;)

@@kaybee7886 Those are all great ideas, thank you so much. I can't promise anything but I'll write all of the ideas down and keep them so I can refer back to ideas in the future. I don't tend to be particularly focused on algorithms which is why my follower and viewer counts are lower than most but that's ok. I've got no idea what sort of routine I might be able to get myself into or what will and won't take my fancy when making content going forwards. My biggest stumbling block is my confidence because I talk myself out of most stuff before I've even started but seeing all of these lovely comments from all of you has been such a boost and I'm going to try and make myself come back to these next time my confidence drops so that I'm reminded again that people do want to hear what I've got to say and get creating again. Thank you so much for your support and your fab ideas, they're all going on my list! xxx

Hi Lucy. I second the previous posters comments and excellent ideas.
So sorry to hear you and your family have had such a rotten run of it.
My content suggestion is to try different types of pencils on the same book. Probably a good idea to use a very common book and couple of pencils. I’ve found there is quite a lot of difference.
Another suggestion is to do a page using a very limited number of colours, such as you’d buy a handful of open stock to try, or come in a set of six or twelve.
I’d also like some advice on colouring in the margins.
So glad you got the breathing space of those payments for a while. What a relief.
Very glad to see you again.
