PeanutButterGamer does a 1 month of only ps2 games challenge! I was a Nintendo kid and never owned a playstation 2 growing up so there was a lot of games that I missed out on. But I guess it's never too late to catch up! Over the month I played 12 ps2 games: Everywhere Road Trip, Finding Nemo, GTA Vice City, Hot Shots Golf 3, JAWS Unleashed, Magic Pengel the Quest for Color, Odin Sphere, Shadow of the Colossus, Shrek 2 the game, Silent Hill 2, The Bible Game, and We Love Katamari! Some of the best ps2 games, some of the worst ps2 games, and anywhere in between!

I've never had the chance to play the original SH2, but I played the remake this month and fell in love with it. I was familiar with the Silent Hill franchise but didn't know a lot of the details and never really experienced it for myself, and man it was just such a special experience and I can understand why the original got so much love. Me personally, I prefer the remake as the original's voice acting and clunky gameplay would have taken me out of the experience unfortunately, but the original definitely seems to have more of an uncanny and nostalgic visual quality. Either way, it makes me happy to hear that you got as invested in the original as I did with the remake!! ✨✨

It's a childhood game for me but Road Trip is one of my favourite games of all time, I'm so glad to see it covered here! I just finished a playthrough myself and its true that the progression is very satisfying and exploring the world while meeting the characters is fun too. Lots of variety with mini-games. I just love the vibes.

If you ever get the chance, I recommend trying to play ICO if you haven't already. While Shadow of the Colossus focused more on boss battles, ICO focused on environmental puzzles while also keeping that minimalistic storytelling the devs are known for.

Dang, was hoping Shrek 2 would PBG's chance to experience a Shrek game he liked, my siblings and I had a blast playing it together growing up. Oh well, nothing wrong with having a difference in opinion, I'm just happy to see another video on this channel, and it was fun to go through the PS2 nostalgia.
9:23 I hear this is a common problem with the PS2 and HDTVs, text can be blurry and almost unreadable on new TVs, for example, I can barely read text when I tried to play the Lego Star Wars games.
You should have played some of the old The Sims PS2 games Peebs. Interesting video though. I didn't play any of these.

the original silent hill game is amazing but the voice acting, stunning graphics and atmosphere in the remake makes it a lot scarier for me, when James walks in on Eddie with the dead man at the table and the conversation that follows... Chills!!!

Shadow of the Colossus was one of the first PS2 games I played when I was a kid, and when I first played it, it scared the HECK out of me, causing me to run back to my Crash Bandicoot games. I eventually came back, and I adored it, and I still do years later. Definitely one of the greatest games ever made ❤

It would take way more than a month to finish that trilogy they are extremely hard
It's hard to call it the best trilogy when only the first game is great and the second game is terrible.
@@NarmyHiiragi I wouldn’t say the second one completely ruins the trilogy but it does lower the enjoyment of playing all three of them but by the time you get to the third one you feel a breath of relief and the third one makes up for the lackluster of ghe second one

Growing up in a Nintendo and PS2 home, this makes me so happy! The PS2 platformers like Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper are just as near and dear to my heart as Ocarina of Time was growing up.

What a coincidence. I have a ps2 arriving in 2 days. I never owned my own I had Xbox and GameCube but I played a ton of games at friends. Looking forward to sharing the games I grew up with with my son and trying some with him I've never heard of or never got around to playing as a kid.

Honestly even outside of a different console, I'd love to see this style with just the classic 3D patformers on PS2 that didn't get a look in here. Games like Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper,Jak and Daxter, Ape Escape etc.

Man, I actually played quite a few of these as a kid! Everywhere Road Trip, Shrek 2, Magic Pengal (HIGHLY underrated), and We Love Katamari were all high points for my childhood. Throw in Pac-Man World 2 and Dog's Life, and we'd be golden here.

Also pro tip on not being able to read the GUI on these older games: play them on a CRT TV, thats what they were designed for and the blurriness of the scanlines actually counteracts the blurriness of the graphics and it becomes surprisingly clear

Edit: While Silent Hill 2 is an amazing game I prefer 3 and even think that it's the superior game. But both are still masterclass in horror games, and I have include the first game with them.
P.S. Playstation 2 Horror games for a month challenge could be a cool a idea for a Halloween video.

In all seriousness though, I know this is a video you've been working on for a while and this video was really fun to watch. It was fun watching you play and talk about these games and this video even got me interested in trying some games I've never even played before. I would totally love to see more videos like this with different video game consoles to see what other hidden gems you find.

I grew up with the PS2 so it is fun to see it get some respect. I loved the Ratchet & Clank games, as well as the Armored Core, Smackdown, Dynasty Warriors and Tekken games to name but a few.
As someone who played the PS2 growing up, this was a good watch. Although I would have liked it if Peebs did some Lego games, Incredibles Rise of the Underminer, and of course Shadow the Hedgehog. How many of you can say they completed all endings and the true ending on the PS2?

I thought Jak 2 and 3 are the best PS2 exclusives. I know there's a lot of people who say Jak and Daxter is the best in the series, but to me it's just a really polished 3D collectathon. Jak 2 and 3 are unique games on their own.

Since I see you have it through the remake collection I strongly recommend playing Ico if you haven’t.
