This was the best tutorial on how to place a trade on tradingview! Your style and pace was perfect. Please do one for the mobile app if you haven’t done so already. You’re the best. Excellent content.
Hi Hugh, question for you on the TradingView order panel, can you explain how units are calculated in the trading panel? I know the position size formula as: ($Risk / Stop Loss Distance). In the following Short example I get ($50/(112.16-111.18)*111.18)= 5,672 units. However, TV calculates 7,690 units, any idea how they come up with that calc? That’s the figure that’s used to calculate P&L, not the trade value down below. I find the difference consistently and wonder what I am missing, thanks!
bro i wan to trade in crypto futures pl. share the decentralized exchange where i can use trading view for buy stop loss nd target orders thtrough mouse clicks. samething for forex markets and commodity markets.
I have watched a ton of videos on how to use a market order to enter a trade. You are the ONLY ONE to give a detail explanation on how to execute. THANK YOU -)
Hey Trading Heroes, new subby here, awesome job on tutorial! I've honestly watched several vides on this, this was the best by far, plus up to date, huge bonus for us, thank you :)
Thank you. This is the best video I've seen on how to place trades in Tradingview and I've seen many. Please do a video on how to place trades using the position tool.
Hi. Nice video with detailed explanation. BTW, I did notice a 'Shree Yantra' on your wall which is very typical of us Indians. Good to see people using such things of our Indian traditions.
Thanks mate. I've been practicing for a couple of months. Doing really well, but struggled setting the enter stop loss and take profit on the paper trade. Your video sorted that out for me. Thanks again
hey man thank you so much for explaining this ! i have been praying and looking for a video to help me understand how to using the trading panel ! God bless you !💵
Thanks Hugh clear and simple too follow. Do you have another video on lot sizes as you mentioned in this video i.e. how they interchange between FX and options
Hi - can you place a limit order at the location of mouse click in the chart? For example I want to buy anywhere near current market price by clicking on the chart to place order. Can I do that on trading view platform? Thanks.
Is there a way when entering multiple trades of the same assets to have separate Entry Lines/TP/SL and not all get put into one? Example, you create (3) GU buys a minute apart. But Tradingview counts them all together combined. Thanks
Nice video! Do the calculations for SL & TP also work on a live account with a connected broker or only with paper trading? I heard that it only works with paper… I would appreciate an answer :)
Is there a one-click option for dragging the SL or TP line without the box coming up on the left and pressing the modify button? Also, how to get rid of the notifications on the left side that come up after placing an order? Thanks for the video.
What about OCO orders. If the trade hits the stop or the profit level, would the other order cancels itself here at TradingView, or any suggestion to put OCO orders?
A couple of brokers on TV will do brackets...AMP/CQG. Otherwise you can look for another platform that allows order management plugins if they don't have the function natively.
When I hit the X to close the trade I don't get the option to close part of the trade. Can you tell me how to configure TV to allow me to close part of the trade the way you showed in the video? I know there are other ways to accomplish the same thing.
I have figured out how to enter into a long position on trading view but i’ve having trouble figuring out how to enter a short position. Is this available through paper trading? and if so, how could i enter short?
Hi Hugh...Thanks for creating this vid...great intro on placing a trade on TradingView. I have a question...here's the hypothetical...If I open an order...with say...20 shares...with initially no attachments to it...can I then immediately go back...and modify only a PARTIAL quantity of those 20 shares...say 10 shares...with an OCO bracket...and then the other 10 shares with just a stop loss...any thoughts...ty...-Mike
I am back a month later and I know so much more, so not confusing anymore but very helpful., let me ask you something? are you still using tradingview foe your trades or still using metatrader? thanks .. anyone please reply too. Thanks.
Thanks for video...if I pay for subscription to trading view....but my broker uses trade locker which has trading view integrated into it will I still have access to all things available in subscription (like having multiple charts open) while I am using trade locker.
ok so you can trade live but is this also consider a broker, or you have to link a broker to tradingview.. like on FTMO you use MT4 to actually place the trade ... something like that? thanks !
I need help my trading panel is not working like it used to when I click on the Stop loss. It used to give me 3 windows that show me dollar risk and percentage risk. And it doesn't show that anymore it just gives me the units box only. How do I get the dollar risk and the percentage risk to show back up when it's set on Market
Trading view has made it much easier since I started also .. you’ll do just fine just watch YT on your big flat screen so you can follow steps better and see exactly what these guys are doing that always helps ..study hard and you’ll be ok
Was about to pass my eval for a funded account and got screwed because my limit order that I set as a take profit also reversed my position when it hit. I don't have the options for TP and SL when hovering over the order line for my market orders. Is this something that is limited by some brokers or something?
The only thing I hate about paper trading is that it will NEVER put you in the moment you want it to. You'll put in a market order for the current price, then when you confirm it, it shows your order was placed WAAAAY above from where you entered at.
can you paper trade options in TradingView? Or even real trade options? If yes, can you do a video on that or send me a link to the source of information?
@@TradingHeroes What a pity! In this way trading from tradingview is 4 me unuseful, 'cause I've to calculate any entry with the price of the asset. Thank you, anyway.

Great video, thanks. Just one question... how do I get the history panel to show the profit/loss for each trade?
Thanks, it should be available under Transaction History. You might also have to click the 3 lines to the right of Balance to show the p/l.
Thanks very much for the video. Is there a way to save the number of units or stop loss in order to streamline the entries?
Not that I know of

Do you know why Trading View cancelled the Dynamic DOM (Depth of Market ) last week?
Thanks! I don't know, contact their support.
I contacted them
They say it's a legal issue
Have you heard anything about that?
Nope, I don't use DOM.
Marvellous, you scratched where it itches must, thank you

Thank you for the video.
I'm confused about the 'Units'.
I don't quite understand how that works or applies to making a trade.
It's like 1 share of stock. Every market has a minimum unit.
@@TradingHeroesI am new to placing trades this way. Is there a link I can follow to understand better?
Best thing to do is open a demo or paper trading account so you can experiment with play money. That's the best way to learn.
Your video was very refreshing

Hie is there a vedio which talks about adding day separate or periods separate on a trading view
Look for a free indicator.

How do I choose the amount of USD I want to buy like 50 usd for example instead of unites?
You can only use units.
You can only use units, the stop loss in USD has to be calculated.

Thanks!
It didn’t give me the option to drag and stop lost and take profit. Could you help me with the settings if that?
