A lot of people judge it right away (with no research into it) but it actually helps people with anxiety or helps relax them even if they don't experience ASMR themselves. 8:00 minute mark: only 1 of the reasons that I know that you really do care----- on both ends with you in the middle! I love makeup. I remember when the Major Dept. Store Brand eyeshadows were creamy, yet powder. $50 + for a small compact of eyeshadow, is what they cost now (and back then) and the texture is dry now. At 55 yrs old, it becomes more difficult to find true eyeshadows that I feel and know actually look good on me. And I do not have dry eyelids. You are pretty awesome. Thank you so much. p.s. I like how the proper cover looks like the leather Kindle cover because it gives a sense of protection and classiness more than plastic containers. Yes! I always use sponge applicators for packing on shimmer. I always thought I must be doing it wrong because you never see TH-cam people pulling those out. Whatever! Works for me!

Skating Canuck - I'm not Steph by any means lol but I have taken some of her recommendations along with her knowledge on skincare and formed a regimen for my 36 year old oily acne prone skin. I cannot afford high end skincare so I only use affordable or drugstore skincare. My nighttime routine consists of Retin A, a couple products from the Ordinary that targets hyper pigmentation (Nicinamide & Vitamin C Suspension) and I follow that with a hydrating moisturizer and The Ordinary Rosehip Seed oil. I didn't want to make this a lengthy comment so I didn't put every single step of my routine. If you have any questions I'm more than happy to help. Since I've started this routine my skin has looked really good with little to no breakouts.

I am a math brain in a statistical field and while I'm so fascinated by the art and beauty of makeup, your spreadsheet breakdowns and ingredient descriptions are the only thing I can really understand! Whenever I pass through Sephora or Ulta and look at different companies or palettes I can hear your voice giving me the straight facts ;P
I was in love with this palette from the moment I saw it previewed, but then knew I could NEVER justify that much on so few colors in a palette. (Yes, even with them being big as the grand canyon) But then today I saw Temptalia's swatches and was turned off, it looked almost like only 2 were pink or purple, (the 2 obvious ones) the rest looked brown. You said they swatch terribly but wear well... Your look looked nice, and your swatches were better, but still, no one's look like the press released, built-up swatches. It just made me really confused. I love purple, I want this but the lack of overt purple and too much brown and the price are making me think again.
Mariah Osmundson as a purple lover, if you don't already have Viseart's Amethyst Theory palette, definitely add it to the top of your list. It's gorgeous!!
I love that you mentioned the sponge applicator trick. When i went for my aestitcian license and we did the make up part everyone knows you have to scape off and use the product that way. So much fall out and very little color pay off. Pushing the eyeshadow onto the applicator than on the lid and blending made such a huge difference.

I do my eyeshadow exactly how stephanie does and it's constantly viewed as "wrong" or "incorrect." until I saw how she does hers I realized it's okay and that I was just doing it a different way. Once I saw I immediately switched back to other way.. packing on and blending out versus how a lot of youtubers "teach" to take tiny bits of product and build up but it's SO time consuming, SO much product on my eyes and i just don't like doing it that way. happy this made me realize to rock on with what i'm doing.

What a great thorough review! For future reference The Body Shop carries a longer handle sponge applicator in two sizes; one is a ‘disk’ shape which is perfect for these types of shadows and loose pigments. They also have a sponge tip that is like a tightly woven ‘bud’ which is excellent for smudging liner. I’ve got back ups of both these brushes as you don’t see them anywhere and they work great. Again THANK YOU for such an exhaustive review!!! 💞

I enjoy your content so much! I really appreciate that you're just honest, matter of fact and thorough. No insane overreactions when you like a shadow and telling me something is bomb every 2 seconds. That stuff is fun but gets old real quick when I actually want some usable info about a product. Ordered mine yesterday from beautylish.com . I have decided to only buy ND palettes as I'm just not as happy with other brands anymore. For me the mattes apply and blend so well, and the shimmers are so fine. The only thing I don't like are the chroma shadows...but I just don't use them.

Hi Stephanie! Are you planning on doing a review on the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette? It's so similar to this one (colour theme wise) that I've been torn on which one to get.

Could you please comment on options for maturing skin (during the affordable skincare video). I feel like brands make those of us over 35 feel like we need to spend $100 (canadian) minimum for good anti-aging. Please also comment on oily, acne prone, maturing skin (its so complicated to treat)!

Skating Canuck - I'm not Steph by any means lol but I have taken some of her recommendations along with her knowledge on skincare and formed a regimen for my 36 year old oily acne prone skin. I cannot afford high end skincare so I only use affordable or drugstore skincare. My nighttime routine consists of Retin A, a couple products from the Ordinary that targets hyper pigmentation (Nicinamide & Vitamin C Suspension) and I follow that with a hydrating moisturizer and The Ordinary Rosehip Seed oil. I didn't want to make this a lengthy comment so I didn't put every single step of my routine. If you have any questions I'm more than happy to help. Since I've started this routine my skin has looked really good with little to no breakouts.
She recently did a Q&A with Ripley where Ripley was asking Stephanie questions but Ripley chatted a bit about her beauty life as well....check the video log, I think it was only a week ago....

The Ordinary are fantastic!Affordable but great quality and cruelty free!If you go to their website it actually lists products based on your skin concerns which is really helpful.
Skating Canuck I'm 38. Mary Kay skin care is amazing. I also use Differin gel at night to keep hormonal acne at bay. I also use Timeless Hylauronic Acid after moisturizing and my skin looks the best its ever looked
I am so thankful you had this review and tutorial in such a timely fashion! I am a math brain in a statistical field and while I'm so fascinated by the art and beauty of makeup, your spreadsheet breakdowns and ingredient descriptions are the only thing I can really understand! Whenever I pass through Sephora or Ulta and look at different companies or palettes I can hear your voice giving me the straight facts ;P
I was in love with this palette from the moment I saw it previewed, but then knew I could NEVER justify that much on so few colors in a palette. (Yes, even with them being big as the grand canyon) But then today I saw Temptalia's swatches and was turned off, it looked almost like only 2 were pink or purple, (the 2 obvious ones) the rest looked brown. You said they swatch terribly but wear well... Your look looked nice, and your swatches were better, but still, no one's look like the press released, built-up swatches. It just made me really confused. I love purple, I want this but the lack of overt purple and too much brown and the price are making me think again.

Mariah Osmundson as a purple lover, if you don't already have Viseart's Amethyst Theory palette, definitely add it to the top of your list. It's gorgeous!!
I love that you mentioned the sponge applicator trick. When i went for my aestitcian license and we did the make up part everyone knows you have to scape off and use the product that way. So much fall out and very little color pay off. Pushing the eyeshadow onto the applicator than on the lid and blending made such a huge difference.

I really enjoy watching your videos because you are always honest and straight to the point. I've been on the fence about buying a Natasha palette but now I'm convinced it's not just hyped. It's also nice to see someone with hooded eyes apply makeup because I do and I always find myself taking my makeup up to my eyebrow which is not always a look I'm going for. Thank you!

I do my eyeshadow exactly how stephanie does and it's constantly viewed as "wrong" or "incorrect." until I saw how she does hers I realized it's okay and that I was just doing it a different way. Once I saw I immediately switched back to other way.. packing on and blending out versus how a lot of youtubers "teach" to take tiny bits of product and build up but it's SO time consuming, SO much product on my eyes and i just don't like doing it that way. happy this made me realize to rock on with what i'm doing.

Thanks for reviewing this, your opinion matters a lot. I think I will give this a go for the simple reason of being tired of the warm shade palettes. The other day I was wearing cool tones and just realised how much better they look on me.

What a great thorough review! For future reference The Body Shop carries a longer handle sponge applicator in two sizes; one is a ‘disk’ shape which is perfect for these types of shadows and loose pigments. They also have a sponge tip that is like a tightly woven ‘bud’ which is excellent for smudging liner. I’ve got back ups of both these brushes as you don’t see them anywhere and they work great. Again THANK YOU for such an exhaustive review!!! 💞
