###J N Ponda aka Jashwant Narsidas Ponda Sole Proprietor of The Phoenix Library Pratham Apts UGF Shop No1 Kumthekar Road # How can his every Raag be magical? How can his every rendering be divine? How can I rhapsodise every time over his performance? How can he be a perpetual Pied-Piper? How can he achieve a dual spiritual orgasm? One for his audience, and one for himself? Why do I go on a spiritual treasure hunt every time I hear him?
I wish to bring to your notice an exceptional archival document on Indian music in the 1940's. In this video between 6:00 and 9:10 minutes we can see Ustad Vilayat Khan in his youth. This would be one of the earliest video recording of his, if not the earliest. MARVELOUS ! on youtube search for: Film about Music in India in the 1940's -- Film 246
Thanks. But what is strange about this film that the artists are not identified- as far as I could see. UVK's playing in film music can also be heard here; perhaps it is the only film for which he played sitar: th-cam.com/video/Rk92kmU86tc/w-d-xo.html

I knew the man and he was a great friend of my father. Love and respects to the fallen great Ustad Vilayat khan. we love you always.
Khan Saheb was not just 'AFTAAB E SITAR', he was absolutely the
'SHAH E SITAR'. May he rest in peace.
