Put a 20 amp dedicated breaker in your power panel It's easy, either flip the main breaker off if your safe, and find a slot in panel face, push breaker in,and use it on a branch in garage that doesn't have alot of use.Or you can run Romex from panel to charge on the interior, and hang a double or quad outlet box with flat open metal cover.Just write in the face"dedicated 20 amp circuit for ebikes. That way you won't use it for power tools or an extra fridge or freezer in garage.

That's a good idea for an on board charger.Any power supply that you can cannabalize from equipment that's the same or slightly greater DC voltage can charge basically any better,as long as it has enough amps to push current into electrolyte if batteries. If overcharged, you run risk of damage to internal plates in battery or blowing it up"it blew up real good".So with lithium and LiPoe lithium, they use a BMS battery management circuit board with a computer chip that regulates charging, temp etc.It will look at state of charge, shut charger off when battery reaches full capacity,or shut down for over temp or over current fault. With lead acid battery, they like a trickle charge til topped off, never place your car batt on concrete while charging or storing, place it on plywood,as concrete will discharge those faster. Now with ni-cads it ni-MH batteries, those like a high voltage more than lead acid battery, because the chemistry is such that requires a higher voltage than the output of rating on those batteries. They also can overheat and explode,so unless a specific transformer/charger came with them, you must be cautious of charging time. The reason for higher voltage while charging is that to push enough electrons into electrolyte chemistry of a particular battery.I am a retired commercial electrician/Data network installer/inventor and played with and installed batteries, solar panels, charge regulators, and high voltage systems for entire wharhouses, manufacturing plants, businesses and super markets being built or retrofitted.Ive pretty much seen it all at an industrial level concerning high/ow voltage systems of so many different varieties it's crazy.Remember-wear your rubber soled shoes when working with live high voltage so you don't ground out and fry your heart, and never stick your fingers in a power panel or poke around with a screwdriver while it's still hot, unless your that good and very brave.

Open up your stock charger.Theres a large motherboard inside, but the transformer is small. You must unscrew the tightening strain reliefs on the cables, unscrew the cooling fan, etc.Thw board is mainly to control the top of of batteries and monitor temp, state of charge etc.The workhorse is the step down transformer from 110 to 80 volts. There are 2 large capacitors on the board, several toroids etc.A readout board is wired in with lef's for state of charge, voltage etc.The fan is mainly for the cooling of the transformer crammed in the case. The capacitors are for pushing current into very low batteries that will su k large amounts of current when the on board Samsung batteries are very low, generating alot if internal heat inside that tiny box for airflow to prevent frying the mother board.Ir would run cooler leaving the cover off, keep the fan connected,or get a larger computer fan pushing more airflow across board.Thete are 2 heat sinks in it.To make it more efficient,Get bigger aluminum heat sinks to dissipate heat faster.Or you can get peltier devices used in coolers like Coleman cool mate, and use those to help cool everything as air is forced across the board.Or get a mini dorm fridge and place it in the fridge, run your cables out the side That will increase efficiency.Keep your large fans blowing across the unit with cold air around it.Dont stick it in an igloo playmate with ice, your asking for troubl doing that. But if it's a dry ice chest with peltiers and fans, with several holes drilled in cooler and fans with peltiers and larger heat sinks, your ok.Then it would be more portable,no condensation or wetness inside.Hey,why didn't I think of that!!!

Your house looks huge. You should have at least a 100-200 amp service to your house. You should not have any issue running a dedicated 20 amp branch to your garage for using the supplied crappy kollter box charger. As I said, just run Romex from panel on its own branch for 20 or even 30 amps. You don't need a permit or pay some rip off electrician.Just do the research from videos on TH-cam.Just shut your main breaker off when working in the panel. You may have to reset your house clo ks,microwave etc.thougg when main is flipped on.Dont be afraid dude

Yea maybe if I’m feeling ambitious some day. The slow charger is doing a pretty decent job for now though.
