Fun little story with this song. I went to EDC Chicago in 2013 and Noisia was playing one of the nights there. Their stage was right next to the swings ride which I was in line for. You could hear Noisia pretty well nearby. There's not many people on the ride right now cause it's raining and cold but there's a few people up super high swinging around in a circle, mostly just holding on like normal people. But there's this one guy absolutely losing his shit while Noisia plays this song in the background. He's like flailing his arms and legs around, spinning in half circles and generally causing a scene. Watching him spin around in a circle, flailing around while faintly hearing his voice getting louder and quieter as he screams "CHANGE MY PITCH UP! SMACK MY BITCH UP!" was the funniest shit I've ever seen. I still can picture the scene so well.

so ahead of its time too. this and stigma i think would tear up the dance floor at any bass music show today, and i doubt many would realize how old of tracks they are unless they knew them already

@@ne10ne10 Well produced music for sure. Play some well produced stuff from the 60s or even the 50s and it still sounds fantastic. Much better than all the noobs slapping random serum basses together today.
@@dis4980 agreed but Serum is a powerful tool in the right hands, but it's sooooo overused. Saying that though if you take an actual analog synth like the Juno and imagine over the years how many classic songs it's been used for and still to this day sounds fresh. It shows the difference between digital plugins and real analog synths.

None of this is from the original Prodigy version, the label couldn't clear the samples or royalty rights

in case ye were unaware i read that, Noisia didn't use any of the original track "Smack My Bitch Up" instead they completely re-produced the original track and once it was produced they produced the remix, this is why these guys are absolute geniuses, end of!

This is the definition of a killer remix. Not too far from the original and and yet, not too close either. So good.

Whats funny and awesome is they had no stems to remix the track. They actually had to remake the original song from scratch before remixing it :P

Since I didn't grow up in the 90's, I don't have any nostalgic feels for the original. They're both awesome, but I have to say, this version has a better production value.
