I have struggled with that verse ya sheykh that Allah doesn't burden a soul more than it can bear, and I say this because I know pain and have endured it, and I can understand what mental turmoil is and what depression truly is, and I therefore totally understand the struggle when a mind gets taken over, I understand suicide and suicidal ideation and I understand and empathise with the poor souls who end up taking their lives and I firmly believe many of those who do this are not in true control of their minds and hearts. Worse, I know this is Allah's destiny and this makes it all the more complicated.
So I truly question this verse of not burdening a soul beyond what it can endure - especially in cases where that burden actually drives a person to end their lives or in cases where their minds are completely taken over (and many of these cases not apparent to the majority of the world) especially when Jinn or Sihr is involved, those who as a consequence of their trauma and suffering develop depression and other mental health disorders with altered neurobiologies. Those who abuse drink and alcohol in societies where this is legal esp in the West (this is a big problem here among the homeless and in marginalised communities), do so to drown the pain of their trauma and suffering and many end up becoming violent or abusive life grooms them for it from their childhood. It's extremely hard and impossible for many to be on control of our rational healthy minds when one develops mental health disorders as a consequence of this suffering or as a consequence of Hasad and Sihr, so I do not understand how without Allah's intervention an affected man women or child Muslim or not can bear and overcome this burden. I am alive only because of the mercy of Allah. It's hard to understand life when your life experiences has opened up your consciousness to see more and more of the strange complexity of life.
The first question asked from the audience is one of the most important questions and I can understand if no one man or woman is able to successfully answer this question. In response, how can pain be NOT bad? I'm talking bayou real pain here. What about all the horrific rapes chaste females go through? What about the physical torture some have to go through, what about extreme partner violence? What about innocent babies being raped and abused by psychopaths - how is it the babies fault??? How is pain justified when a child grows up neglected and traumatised from the destiny of his or her childhood to be scarred and diseased for life or worse end up violent themselves? How can be pain not be bad when babies are raped and pedophilia is a reality today? Ask the WISE (most aren't) good Muslims healers like Ben Abdurraouf and others their lessons from treating their patients from Hasad, Sihr and Jinn possession and how it's a test from Allah and yet they tell you how some of these people are fully controlled by the Jinn and even stranger cases that is hard to even comprehend, there is so much that we do not know. What is the purpose even of pain here and how is this a test if the person doesn't even have control of his/her own mind??? How can pain not be bad when I have only heard about the horrors and the evil in the 'dark web' which I don't even wish to see or even know about? How can this pain some of which is nothing but pure evil be justified when most who endure and have to live through such "tests" aren't even Muslims, never as born into or grew up as one or ever knew consequently what Islam is like we had the blessing without our own choice at all? How can there be right and wrong actions when all destiny is decided beforehand and is from Allah Almighty Himself? These are questions most may not have because everyone's life and experiences are different and not the same. For me what I've lived through and continue to struggle daily with and when religion offers no answers and only suggests more suffering, these questions won't go away as I seek understanding and answers, I pray to Allah to shine light upon my mind and give my wisdom and understanding that no man is able to provide.

I can never understand what you have gone through. In fact no one can except Allah. So I can only give you so much advice. I know everyone always says the same thing “it’s just a test” but the thing is like you mentioned, sometimes it’s not even your fault or it’s out of your own control. But we absolutely have to believe that whatever Allah allows to happen, there’s a benefit. In what ever He allows to happen there is benefit. Because He is Al-‘Aleem and Al-Hakeem. He is the most Knowing and the most Wise regarding every decision that takes place.
And we also have to remember that sometimes hardships come as favors in disguise. You are not able to see it as a favor at the moment, but He is our Rabb-Our Nurturing Master AT ALL TIMES, when we perceive it and when we don’t perceive it.
Allah is always there for us, always on our “side”, He is looking out for you in this very moment just as He is looking out for you when you are in hardship. And He will never leave you alone. Rather He is perfect in decision and His plan is perfect.
Just like when Ibrahim AS was being thrown into the fire, or Muhammad SAW was being stoned, or when Bilal RA was being tortured, Allah was in fact with them. Allah was in fact pleased with them, and their hardships surely ended with time and by the will of Allah.
Bilal RA-when asked about how he endured the torture-said something profound. He said RA, that I mixed the beauty of faith and the sourness of the torture, and found that the sweetness of imán overpowered the pain of the torture, so I didn’t feel anything. Bilal RA saw himself as nothing in front of Allah, which is why he would not stop saying “Allah is one”. He didn’t see his body to be worth anything when tortured.
Allah only tests those that He loves the most. So Allah must love you immensely, and He must want to raise you in rank In shaa Allah.
I would recommend you to watch the video “three types of fitnah/why does Allah let it happen” by Nouman Ali Khan if you haven’t already. In summary he talks about different types of fitnah. Fitnah from Allah, from people and from yourself. And what that really means.
I ask Allah to make it easy for you in whatever you are going through. And that He makes it a means for you to come closer to Him and that it raises your rank in the hereafter. 🩵

I loved this video I’ve watched it like 4 times to remind me over and over again. It’s so easy to say be strong. Rely and return to Allah when everything is going well. But when you’re afflicted with the strongest afflictions …… it takes time and iman to return over and over to your lord Alhamdulillah for Islam. Allah is so generous and merciful. Jazak Allahu Khairan sheik ❤❤❤❤

I pray that you're always honest and will continue to speak from the Qur'an and the Prophet's life on both sides (alaihi-ssalaatu wa-ssalam) and the truth as you understand it, answering questions seeing both sides. It's a blessing to see a scholar who is more aware and open in his thinking due to growing up in a liberated part of the world where one is encouraged to think about things and not just blindly follow culture and practices.
I'm not sure if you'd have turned out the way you did had you grown up in a orthodox and patriarchal Arab nation.

Some advice is hard as it doesn't apply for all people and all situations. Take the example of your advice to be a good character to someone, that is not an option for a traumatised adult child of a narcissistic parent esp one who continues to abuse, wound and dominate over their grown up children, esp if they've never received therapy or are in a process of healing by isolating from such abusive parents, that only makes life and health worse by making himself herself more vulnerable to continued emotional and psychological abuse.
Muslims and even scholars know nothing about narcissistic parents and childhood trauma or about mental health, one never hears about these things. The unwarranted guilt alone that you get from values placed upon you by society is enough to stop any healing from taking place. having to seek refuge elsewhere and ending up isolated cutting relationships from toxic family members or toxic families is a reality for some people in order to preserve their sanity and be able to live and heal.

I empathize with you and understand you. I have learned that only Allah is truly there for us. Just keep praying, forgive them and move on. It has helped me.

Actually, one has to respect his or her parents and obey them (despite them being incredible narcissists), while praying for salvation from Allah. The devil knows about obedience to parents and does EVERYTHING he can to create as many fights as possible to that the child does huge sins.
The more the child sins, the more aggressive the narcissists become. Guess why?
I know a son whose parents and brother and sister are narcissists, they don't even let him buy a candy (with his own money). Such ridiculous evil is done by devils inhabiting the narcissists.
Narcissism = Severe Demonic Possession + probably Black Magic

Sometimes we go through tests to make us better as humans. Every human has flaws and the reality of life is people including close ones will hurt us and we may hurt them, but how we deal with situationss is up to us. The shaytan only causes confusion upon confusion which ultimately leads us astray as that is the goal. Making us think about the evil treatment of others, reminding of us of shame, guilt and using it so we remain stuck and paralysed
Keep asking Allah swt for help and shifa for all your problems and have faith that no matter the outcome Allah swt knows best amd will do what is best for us
