I needed to hear this, I've definitely internalized the 'STEM is better' ideaolgy. despite doing an education & psychology degree that i'm really passionate about, i always downplay it. this video was really necessary for me to hear
As someone who had a pretty even split of humanities and stem at school growing up, I absolutely cannot wrap my head around people who believe the smart people do science and the dumb do humanities. I'm now studying tertiary science; this decision was made because I didn't feel smart enough to do history/politics or anything, to this day I totally believe I wouldn't have been able to go as far in my studies if I had chosen a humanities. Most of the smartest people are the creatives and the thinkers, I wonder where this understanding of science is for the smart came from.
oh my goddddddd, thank you so much for making this video -- i've been wanting to talk about this very topic for so, so long and i think you've near-perfectly illustrated how crucial it truly is to just BE HUMAN.
As someone torn between Sociology and Public Administration, I needed this a lot and appreciate you taking the time to explain & talk about this topic. I genuinely needed this insight & motivation, your video (this one) is one of the signs I'm taking to pursue my interests in Sociology to apply it to public administration or policy or whatever it may become
Great thoughts!! I’ve been feeling the humanities have been undermined lately. I also glimpsed that book cover and was immediately interested. I’m currently getting into composition so this book immediately landed on my reading list. See you Feb 28!!
this video perfectly articulates what i’ve been thinking about for a while now. i’ve recently started writing poetry and i have had some people say that it it pointless. little do they know that it is my way of dealing with stress and anxiety
Omg I lowkey needed this video to motivate me to read again. Because it is so true that the humanities feed the soul, and just make help you know more about yourself and the people around you. Also I feel like it is important to read on society and ways that we are being controlled by it (also sound like a conspiracy). I recommend reading “society of the spectacle” it is an absolute nightmare to read but it is so amazing to read it and connect the dots between what Guy Debord says and the world we live in now.
I'm very happy to be one of those three supposed people who's going to watch this video
Young lady, there are more than three of us thank you.
So much wisdom! Reading your book is now on my list of things to do.
ahh thank u so much!!

I'm glad to hear it!! And yeah that's so true, i'm learning to unlearn that ideology as well
