Commenting on the Cardinals remarks regarding the Mass of John XXIII. 39:00 Bearing in mind that the Mass celebrated during the Sessions of the Second Vatican Council was what is now known as the 'Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite'. Even after the Council closed the Mass of Paul VI did not really come into effect until around 1968.
I thought he was a bit harsh at 47:00 as well. I mean, she had a point considering the guidance on other similar matters. What do we do with those who we know are unrepentant, even if they undergo confession - of course we trust they are genuine, but we still have to show that we're loyal to church teaching... right...? It's a tough one, and I think she had more of a point than he was allowing, if that makes any sense.
chris he was not harsh he answered the question like 4 times I would be upset too. If you don't like the answer ignore him and do what you want but don't keep asking after you got a clear answer
Good work. How does that woman @ 46.00 know that her relatives have not gone to confession? She 'thinks' she knows what is in her relatives hearts, she doesn't. Sounds like she is a troublemaker. I agree with Cardinal Arinze's admonishment of her.
@Chris11122233 Mean? Harsh? The Cardinal tells the lady who has her mind clearly set on wanting to shun a couple who had lived in sin prior to getting married to praise God and rejoice if these people confessed and repent for having lived in mortal sin, by which they were jeopardizing their eternal life and that's mean?
Who is here in 2024

Love your answers Your Eminence!
I've revisited this video and still think the Cardinal was wrong. I really liked this man, till now.

I should think that very few of us know what we are doing when we consume the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
That was interesting.
Pretty mean at the 47:00 mark. Not sure he needed to be so harsh.
well she wouldnt let him answer and there are people behind her
Sorry Mr.Cardinal....you did misunderstand the question. He doesn't get the question.
Man, this is about Catholic. It is not about you, so call born again movements. So he is right in doing his work of instructing Catholic Christians.
Rather, be sorry for yourself because you are lost
Be sorry for yourself
