This intuition oriented video would be a great place to explain the name "Eigen vectors" to english speakers. I think in german "eigen" is "to own". In french we call it "vecteurs propres". That is to say eigen vectors refer to intrinsec properties of a transformation, which I roughly assimilate to preferential directions. Although my comment is not mathematically precise, I thought it was worth mentioning, unless I'm wrong and you totally disagree. PS : I beware algebra because this tool that can hide the real stuff behind.
First of all it’s very geometric and can be visualized very easily! I mean try to visualize a Galois group ;) And also I feel everyone can put their own flavor in it. For example, if an analyst teaches linear algebra, it’ll be very different from when a logician (for example) teaches linear algebra. It’s kinda like an open source software in math
He hates algebra bot not linear algebra : ) but some of the topics will freak u out like guassian quadrate fourier series different method to calculate eigen value including householder reflector, QR ......a lot of stuff
Hat's off to him...
For saying:
" I don't like Algebra, I love Math"
Even I feel the same.
Please do videos on abstract algebra .
He just said he hates algebra. :(
@@tracyh5751 but abstract algebra is something quite different. It uses more logic than arithmetics
Homomorphism are a beautiful part of maths that students dont often see.
Thank you. Very informative
You hate algebra? But you seem to do it so well! I don't hate algebra, I'm just not good at it. That's why I use Mathematica! And I love geometry.
Can you do this geometric representation of eigenvectors with the generalized eigenvectors in the jordan matrix?
Thank you!!! ❤
alright thanks for teaching!
shouldn't the final one be [-2, 4] + [9,18] not [-2,2]+[9,18]?
Yup.
I guess this approach could have a lot of TECHNOLOGIC applications
Can you solve imo 2019 problem number 3 ?
There might be a small calculation error at the end, the vector should be [7,22]?
+1
I'm close to understanding something new. Wish you had a strechable whiteboard.

THOUGHTS ON THE NULLSTELLENSATZ?
0:44 "I hate algbera"
I am wondering why that is? Like what algebra class did you take that made you not like it?
All of them, to be honest (except for linear algebra). Too much abstract nonsense, haha. I’m an analyst :)
@@drpeyam Ah I see. What makes linear algebra different?

baking algebra. ;)
Please sud spanish.
