They both look pretty good to me. I been stocking up on that Apex GT-20 in 3 inch. I am glad y’all put these videos out. It helps me out.

Both are pretty dang good patterns. Super hot cores for sure. I did get a kick out of Jake talking about the 20ga being a heavier option now that the 28ga has grown in popularity. I guess I am just a little biased carrying a 10ga. Great job guys. 👍🏻

I want to get 10 & 16 gauge options on the channel for next turkey pattern series! Then we can cover all gauges!

Pound for pound and energy for energy, it’s been known for decades that a 28 gauge is the best and most consistent patterning shotgun caliber. It’s nicknamed the “magic” caliber.

7oz difference between the two guns... Splitting hairs as far as weight on the guns. 20 gauge has more ammunition and payload options, as well as aftermarket choke options... Im not knocking the 28... I love shooting it. Just thinking out loud.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

That may be true but more options doesn’t always mean it’s better it provides more tinkering, that sa28 in my honest opinion doesn’t even need an aftermarket choke, that stock 520 is filthy across the board with tss from 1 1/4 Oz to 1 5/8 Oz payloads
Same with the tristars as it’s the same gun essentially 🤣🤣

I have that same Beretta in 20ga and the same Mossberg turkey in 20 ga also. Happy with how they both pattern. Mossberg is the primary and the beretta will be a backup if needed. At this time I have no desire to get a 28 ga but when I do it will probably be a Beretta or franchi.

Have a 20 O/U. Been considering the same model in 28 because I just can't take recoil like I used to. Arthritis, ruptured discs, bulges discs. Would like to hunt a few doves with the grandsons.

I would like to see two shots with the same load and set up. Like the one that had the finger that went down the left side. Shoot again to see if it does the same thing. Next time you see something like that just shoot again to compare

    • @colt10mmsecurity68

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA meh,,,, one can do MORE with a 2 3/4” - 3” 20ga than a 2 3/4” 28ga. A 20’s payload can shrink and get smaller with minimal recoil or compete rather closely with payload of a 12ga 2 3/4” shell. But the 28 can never get any heavier payload if needed. Ammo options with the 20 are just superior when compared to a 28. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Beretta 687 SPIII in 28ga. It’s a fun gun.

  • @littlejohnny210

Both patterns were funky like Big Reds ass crack! I personally like the 20 better. Once Rossi makes a 28 I'll probably make the switch. I like to move, and prefer the light weight booms. The recoil of the Rossi 20 is insane. Remember 👦 and 👧

I agree to an extent BUT increasing payload size doesn’t always mean getting the optimal pattern out of the setup sometimes it can be the exact opposite… most of the time actually I’ve seen smaller 28 gauge 1 1/4 payloads out pattern 1 5/8 Oz payloads time & time again and that goes for in 410, 20 & 12 gauge as well (different payload weights of course)

      It’s tss my guy
Tss is 18.1-18.3 g/cc whereas lead is 11 g/cc 9 shot tss is the equivalent to 4 shot lead just you get twice or more the pellet count depending on the load

The IC .555 doesn’t pattern how I want my setup to pattern
The .562 is far better than the .555
