- Stephen hurt his ankle during his rugby game and then played on it. Then went to Science City. Now it looks like this. Lets watch him annoy the urgent care staff as he gets his ankle examined 😂

Needles are weird as kid my cut on scalp required a shot to stitch it out I went , ever since not a fan , he is tripping if he’s playing , my mum rolled her ankle first said no breaks , use it 4 weeks still in agony re ex rayed and it’s fractured stay off it for 6 weeks lol
“I jacked up my ankle. What do I do?”
“I’m a big strong rugby player, so pain doesn’t affect me much. Damn my toes are swollen.”

I´m in a wheelchair and one time I broke my hand, it didn´t hurt so I wrove around with a broken hand for about a week until my ex. forced me to get it looked at. 4 weeks in a splinter, and I was at a festival and drove around in a forest, and I only used it like 50% of the time I should´ve. No pain at all. And I´ve gotted stitched in my head without any numbing, and didn´t flinch a nerve either.
My pain tolerence is through the roof. But I f*cking HATE needles, so I don´t see how those two can be compaired.

When we got older, my husband and I made an agreement that if either one of us tells the other it's time to go to the hospital, there will be no argument. It was an agreement that saved his life.

Oh Alix, I understand you so well, my boyfriend is a runner and he is just as stubborn as Steven, since he has a high tolerance for pain. Months ago he scratched his eye on a tree branch and he refused to go to the ophthalmologist even though his eye was as red as a tomato and was super swollen, so I dragged him to the doctors office. And he didn't want to take the treatment either 😑 Why men are so stubborn and don't take care of their health?
Even if it's not broken, the soft tissue damage can take longer to heal.
We men are terrible about going to the doctor. 🤪💯

Stephen and Alix PLEASE go back for the boot! I understand that the boot is frustrating since it takes a minute to adjust at first since it is a bit uncomfortable in the beginning, but that being said it truly protects your injury from worsening and overall is more comfortable than attempting to walk on a swollen painful ankle! Also Stephen R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compress, elevate) it is very important to properly care for your injury, I know hearing a sprained ankle seems very mild but sprained ankles actually have different grades indicating the extent of tissue damage or functional impairment, a sprained ankle can be as painful or damaging as a minor break or fracture! I know the whole situation is frustrating and might seem inconvenient, but it is better to do everything possible to care for it now versus having more issues with it later on simply because you didn't properly care for it now (trust me I know, I speak from personal experience). He’s most a definitely a husband! Acts just like mine. I’ve learned to always go with him to any appointment. Otherwise, I’d never know how to properly care for the problem. I don’t mind though cause I also need to know everything that’s going on at all times or the world won’t spin the right way. It all works out in the end. Fingers crossed that after he rests it that it heals all up and he down need to follow up with an orthopedic

The great thing about urgent care is that you can set up an appointment and fill out paperwork from your phone, so you can get in and out fast. I knew it wasn't broken lol! You wouldn't be able to stand on it, let alone sleep if it was broken. Love the banter!
Actually not true….. I performed X-rays for 50 years. I x-rayed a guy who had fallen and walked into the ED…..his hip was broken. I also x-rayed a patient who walked into the ED who was injured playing basketball. He had 8 fractures in his neck. Just because you can move it or walk on it, does not discount the fact that a bone could be broken. Stephen’s ankle is swollen and bruised for several reasons. 1. He had an injury. 2. He did not elevate his leg and apply ice. 3. He continued to walk on his leg without support. The bruising into his toes is normal. It’s gravity….just like a liquid, blood will go to the lowest point, ie: ankle, foot, toes.

I would've gone with the boot because they are comfy for 1 and for 2 it does feel tremendously good when walking in a boot in comparison to wrapping it up. I wore a boot when I dropped a deadlift on my foot in High School. It's also really easy to take them off and put them back on. You do you though of course!

take it, you broke the dang thing and I would know, I've had three surgeries on my ankles, I KNOW what a broken ankle looks like, and honey, you done did it.
Man, your wife was right. You should have taken the boot. I had a similar sprain with the fractured bone back 30 years ago and they wanted to put my ankle into a cast. I declined back then. I regret it till this day. That fractured bone disturbed me for years and my ankle clicks and pops with every movement even as I write this. Also range of movement of my ankle is decreased as the result of not putting it into a cast for 3 weeks. I second your wife's sentiment: go get the boot and use it for 2-3 weeks. That's my advice.

I had something similar with my foot in June. My wolf dog heeled her entire body on my right foot. On my way back to the house she tripped me & I sprained my ankle. Crutches & a boot for a month.

My husband broke his ankle in three places it blew up, and what did he do…. Stuck his foot in his hunting boots (that had no laces, like a hunter rain boot) and hunted for a week. He was out for the count when he got home. Down for 6 weeks ish. You men are crazy. 😂 but we love you anyway.
