That was my first phone. I remember unpacking it on the bus on my home from the shop. I still use the same PIN ever since. ❤

It was awesome growing up with the evolution of mobile phones, actually had a reason to upgrade every 6 months, my first mobile was had before sms was even a thing, all you could do was call, remember the first camera phone coming along, where the camera was an attachment, going from mono to polyphonic to real ringtones, video calling. To what we have now, little black slabs that do it all, no more innovation to be had. Often go back and look at all the old handsets, so many cool devices, shame it all moved along so quickly

Just found my old one along with my old MiniDisc player - both which I got the first time round working at Dixons as a student many eons ago …hopefully both should work, just need to find some batteries/chargers…keeping my fingers crossed…can’t wait to bust them out on the tube 😂😂😂

Nokia 8250 was the coolest phone I have ever owned. It was similar to this phone but cooler. It was only sold in Asia I believe, my big brother bought it for me when he was on a business trip somewhere in Asia, and I immediately became the cool kid in school because it wasnt sold here in Sweden :p Still wish I had it but it got stolen back in 05 or something. If you havent seen the phone, look it up, it looks awesome and felt futuristic at the time

Nice unboxing! That phone looked brand new. Interesting how the foam on the earphones practically fell apart. I have a pair of Sony PC speakers from 1995 that had a foam sponge in the battery compartment that completely fell apart like that as soon as I opened it. They were brand new in the box when I got them a few years ago at a flea market.

Cheers chap. Yes, it does happen…. I suppose it’s oil/rubber based and degrades over time!

@@retro-unboxing That makes sense. It did leave a bit of an oily residue that took some work to clean off.

I'd say so as it's picked up the service carrier, in this case EE.

Thanks very much! PS2 Slim is next on my list!
I need to find a nice PS1 and One but they seem to be rare and expensive at the moment…
