Thank you so much for this video. I have grown my own indigo and although am making indigo powder - I have some spare plants/leaves so might try your methods over the weekend. J xx

Anna = this was three years ago now and i am curious about what has happened with these samples.. is there any follow up on how colorfast they turne out to be ? July 2024 now and i am harvesting my third smallish crop of Japanese indigo. I have done several processing methods the first two years but am interested in using the fresh leaves this year with Michel Garcia’s “new” fresh_dried_chopped>make a vat method. OR one of your three to color some vintage cotton and linen napkins.. i don’t want to waste me small harvest.. could you recommend any of these three methods for that? I have never done your second method.. thank you

can you only obtain aqua using these methods or can u reach this in a reduction vat later on ? also can you use the left over material that’s become indigotin for a mother vat to get the pigment ? i think i waited too long so everything is mostly green instead of cyan ;)thk u !!!

What is the name of these leaves called indgo and what kind of plant does it belong to?

Probably Japanese indigo based on the shape of the leaves.
