    Here is a video on the MPC STUDIO MKII going over the sampling workflow and how I am using the Touch FX Slider to make and come up with some unique ideas for some of my Boom Bap Beat Making This mpc studio mk2 has been really interesting using it with the mpc software as it has forced me to come up with some creativity using this new future like the touch fx for some creative workflows especially coming from the MPC ONE and the mpc 2000xl if you want to learn or know how to make a boom bap beat this little machine is a grate way to start.

      Yes so i am using the Apollo Quad interface so i am not sure how it works with other interfaces but this is the way i am doing it. 1.) I am using 2 available input (31&32) 2.) on the Apollo console app settings i go to I/O MATRIX and set the inputs of 31&32 to Monitor L ch31 and Monitor R ch32 so now i am able to go on my mpc and when i sample i just choose input 31 and 32 so anything that my computer plays it will be receiving signal from those channels. Possibly the most underrated MPC out there, and at a wayyy better price than most others. I get why other MPCs are 5x the price, that’s because they are basically computers of their own, but nowadays every producer has a laptop/pc and a DAW so this is probably the best bang for your buck out there

    People dont know (or aren't saying)that with this release..Our MPC Live 2, X and One's also got a software(computer)and firmware(hardware) update- v2.10.1....for 1 item though. We may not have the TouchStrip, but they gave us the Touch FX insert effect for touch screen. Its just fine on the Live 2 screen!

    @MALO BEATS I'm sure you most likely figured this out, but there is a more efficient way to put that "Tape Stop" effect on via hardware. Instead of using the Q Link method..Just press the Touch Strip button and either keep pressing it until the Touch FX comes up on OLED screen/or use jog wheel to get there. Once you are on the Touch FX screen, hold shift button and hit Config button(it is the Touch Strip button's secondary function). That will open up a menu of Touch FX you can choose from. Use jog wheel and go to "Turntable" effect- which IS the tape stop...tweak some settings (if you want), hit MAIN button to remove settings from screen (if you want) and use strip as usual. The visual on screen isn't as cool looking as actual plugin, but who cares. Hope this helps someone. Hardware for the win!

  • @IsshmanGarcia
    @IsshmanGarcia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    @MALO BEATS After you make your chops in Sample edit page, you can hit the tune button(while still in sample edit)on the hardware to pitch the whole sample( your chops ) using the data wheel 0-24 semitones., then you can convert it to program pitched. Plus you can still pitch individual pads as normal.

    Thank you for taking the time and putting together this video, Malo. As usual, it was very informative. That device is a pretty cool entry level MPC for newbies to the MPC workflow and software integration. Quick question: For those who have the MPC One, X, or Live 2, couldn't you achieve the same result by using your device in controller mode? If so, I guess it's not any advantage for those that already own the newer MPC's to purchase the new MPC Studio Mk2. Is that correct? Thank you again for your dedication and work. Bendiciones!

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David, thank you for always taking the time and supporting the channel. As for the studio mkii it will not be replacing or doing anything different from what our MPC one does there’s no need to purchase the mkii if you already own an MPC in my personal opinion but it is a great machine for people who are just using a keyboard controller and want to upgrade to something a little more durable for beat creation with a laptop. It’s also great for people that like the hybrid of working now with the software and the hardware but that’s something that we can also do on her and Mpc one

    It sucks that you have to use the mouse to choose chop or program in sample edit mode. On the 4K, you would just use the arrow keys to move the cursor around on a screen like that or you would use the f keys. On the MPC One or X, I'm assuming that this is where you would use the touch screen. All Akai would have to do is update the software so that the user could use a qwerty keyboard's f keys or the arrow keys and the problem would be fixed. Hopefully they'll do that in the future because it's the only thing I don't like about the Studio. Otherwise it's pefect for my needs.

      Hey brother, congratulations on your new set up and it sounds like you got an awesome set up. I’ve not used the turntable. You’re speaking of, but there should be a way where you could go to your preferences on the MPC software and select the input of the turntable once it’s connected via USB to the computer once you have that selected it should pop up when you go to your sampler page.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re both amazing machines but if you enjoy the hybrid of a computer and your hardware I would go for this one but if you like to work unplugged without having to Stare at a computer all day long I would definitely go for the MPC one. Overall, just go for the MPC one if you have the extra bucks to spare in my personal opinion

    • @matthewgaines10
      @matthewgaines10 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody can tell you what you should do with zero information on how you intend to use it. Different needs and preferences dictate what is best for you.
      If you have a reasonably powerful computer with good speakers, audio inputs, and plenty of available storage space, the Studio Mk2 may be a good starter set. It and MPC 2 software can cover what the MPC One hardware covers, just somewhat differently. Which one to buy is largely dependent on what you want to do. I use my MPC One with external synths and keyboards. Something you can do with the Studio Mk2 but not as convenient for to me. The mixed hardware/computer GUI is not an an advantage of the Studio Mk2.
      I use both the MPC One and the Studio Mk2. The One for standalone and the Studio Mk2 for tethering. The more you need from the device, the more it makes sense to get the MPC One. If you just want it for casual use, go Studio Mk2.

    I wonder why I cant see the audio coming into the mpc software as it comes from TH-cam so I can see where I want to chop instead of guessing the timing. am I missing a setting somewhere? Like if I record into Fl Studio Edison it will show the wave form as it is recording sound.

    Still have the MPC Studio? If so, how do you feel about it now? Would you recommend it?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I still have it but does not get much used in my studio since I’m usually working in standalone mode with my MPC live. By all means the MPC studio does not lack potential and it is as powerful if not even more powerful than my MPC live if you are someone that enjoys having the flexibility of your computer at your fingertips since it could do so much more than the MPC and standalone mode. I guess it which is boils down to how you want to make music, are you more of a standalone music creator or do you prefer to have the hybrid of a drum machine with your computer.

    • @JCorrea813
      @JCorrea813 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@malobeats I have no issue with working in a hybrid situation. I guess my concern is whether or not the workflow itself is hindered. Like buttons, knobs, q-links etc.. thank you for your time and reply.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JCorrea813 Great questions, I feel like the MPC studio was built for a 50-50 percent workflow meaning 50% of the times you will be clicking around in the other 50% of the times you’ll be using the hardware, a good thing is that when you are using the hardware it’s going to be strictly while you’re performing and the only times you will be clicking around is when you’re doing the technical work like adding plug-ins, nudging over different midi notes etc. etc. The good news is that when it comes down to chopping up your samples you could do that strictly from the hardware which is very crucial for me at least.
