I've never tried any YSL bags on, someday when it feels safe to travel to the city again it will be fun to see these bags in person. I've made some online shopping mistakes in the last few years since moving to a small town with limited shopping and am now limiting my online purchases to brands I know the quality and fit in classic styles that are pretty certain to work out for me. Hoping we can travel and go out and dress up more in the coming year.
I absolutely love the sunset bag. It’s on my Christmas list in the smooth leather in the black and gold. It’s such a classy bag, and with all the Chanel price increases, I don’t know if a Chanel bag is in my future anymore, but the sunset bag gives me that same elegant vibe

I was set to buy the loulou…but now I think the college might be a better fit with the top handle, back pocket, and durable leather. Glad I watched this one!!!
For the College, it’s worth bearing in mind the medium will go crossbody but in the large the strap is shorter and it’s only good as a shoulder bag. Also, the magnetic closure can be a little fiddly to line up. Still love the College in both sizes though! 😍

I'm so glad I came across this when researching for buying my first YSL bag for my 'special' birthday. I was looking at a YSL BLACK LARGE SUNSET SMOOTH LEATHER W/ BLACK HARDWARE. After watching this I'm moving towards a grained version and maybe the LouLou as its more casual as I'm terrified of scratching the smooth leather as I want to use such a lovely handbag for everyday use. Thank you for this great video. I am trying to decide between the college and Lou Lou. I like the face that the college has an outside back pocket but one of the interior pockets is rather tight. This is the opposite with the Lou Lou so not sure yet. Asking myself if an outside back pocket is really a deal breaker since I am not sure I will really use the outside pocket but it’s always nice to have. Not sure if it’s worth sacrificing the extra roomy interior pocket for a back pocket. But then I also like the structure of the sunset very much. Not sure which of the 3 to get as my first ysl bag.

I‘ve got the sunset and the Loulou, and yes, you are right, the sunset looks best. The Loulou is more an everyday bag and not so elegant than the sunset.

I’m really loving YSL lately. Love all 3 of your bags, especially that beautiful cinnamon color on your suede Lou. I have the toy Lou Lou, the Camera bag; the Uptown Clutch & I more recently bought the Niki. I absolutely love the different leathers, styles & hardware on all of them. However, I do find that I prefer top handle bags or at least shoulder bags that include that option. Also, although I love the look of more structure bags, on a practical basis, I prefer bags that are not as stiff so more stuff can fit in them. I’ve had the College bag on my wishlist and Im hoping to purchase it soon. The only thing that turns me off about it is how long the strap is. I also plan to get the Pochette Metis in the reverse mono next year, and I wonder how similar you think these two bags are. Have you done a video comparing these 2 bags?

Starting to admire Ysl lately, I bought my first Ysl bag which is a small loulou. Got it for about 1week n loving it. I considered the college but chose loulou for calfskin. I used to like lambskin bags. This time i’m looking for a dressier bag so calfskin still looks dressy when it the leather ages. Love the look of Sunset. I somehow thought it’s not deep enough but your video corrected me. I may buy the Lou camera as a causal bag soon. Eyeing on the grey or burgandy.

Nope. Never heard of anyone complaining of rust and mine are all perfect. They can tarnish after many years if they aren’t cleaned every now and then - like if they get chemicals on them you’d need to get that off

Hey Jax, is it the satchel version that doesn’t have that maybe? Yes the dividers can be quite limiting in the YSL bags. I find the LouLou one of the better ones as the large part is bigger than on the others.

My curiosity lies on people that are in the same category as me, I spend a substantial amount of money travelling on holidays (at least before the pandemic I did) and I don't feel any qualms about it; however, for some reason, spending that much on a bag makes me feel uneasy. Interesting discussion though.

I think the college is more casual than the Loulou. They missed a trick by not adding a back pocket to the Lou. All 3 are really good bags, the Loulou in the large is a really big bag, I’m use to big bags but the large feels massive, bigger than a maxi.

I already have the small Loulou in blanc vintage & love it (it’s my only light colored bag) but I am currently torn between the College and the Sunset. I want the black with black hardware, visiting YSL next week. It will be my master’s degree gift. Do any of you guys have suggestions? I already have the croc embossed black on black Balenciaga Hourglass and black on black Gucci Marmont but I tend to use full black bags the most cause the logo is not that visible and I also find them so edgy. I have jet black dyed hair and always wear my nails black and also only wear black clothes so they fit me perfectly🖤. So which do you think I should go for? Depends what size you get. A medium would fit the pro max. It is heavier than the other bags, I cover that in the video a little

I already have the croc embossed black on black Balenciaga Hourglass and black on black Gucci Marmont but I tend to use full black bags the most cause the logo is not that visible and I also find them so edgy. I have jet black dyed hair and always wear my nails black and also only wear black clothes so they fit me perfectly🖤. So which do you think I should go for?
