I use these for Irish stick fighting. I have not had a rivet break loose yet. I have the repair kit to replace all of the rivets. I haven't had time to do them all yet. However, there is no padding under the plastic with these, and therefore they don't provide very good impact protection. If they were to add padding to the next generation, it would be an awesome glove.

I believe they just adressed the issue and puled the line, they have them at half price with extra rivets, i just ordered mine

2 have broken within my club this last week. However I do know 2 people who have been testing the protypes for a good few months and they didn't have any of these issues. So hopefully in just a bad first batch from the manufactures and can be resolved quickly.

I really hope so. I would be very happy with them if they were a bit more durable.

@norwich_hema_society The guys have gotten an email from the knights shop, yea 8mm rivet bases were used instead of the 12mm ones in error. Replacements are being arranged. Should be able to get yours replaced too.

Looks like they melting through the webbing to make holes? If they are- Parting it with an awl is much more durable and secure. Plus the need for wider based more sturdy rivets as mentioned

Cheap aluminum rivets do not stand up to sparring. If you replace the rivets that fail with copper or steel rivets, they'll last much longer.
