The rest are easier to cover in terms of vocal range and difficulty level.

Honestly, I think often Jessica doesn't get enough credit for really holding the group together vocally, especially in the earlier years, because if Taeyeon isn't there, Jessica is the only one consistent and level enough to always cover anything, on short notice. People may dislike her voice, because it's a bit high and whiny, but there's no questioning her consistency and calm mindset on stage.
I agree. But it doesn't seem like Jessica doesn't really care for singing anymore. Well it just seems like she cares more for fashion and the visuals nowadays bc it seems her singing is getting worse. @@tyfalma Nope, she's one of the busiest among the members. She manage her schedule very well, she lesser her time to this things to do the other things, i don't know if she has time to sleep. Example is DWTS i forgot what episode it is, but on that episode where she won and his partner, after their performance she didn't proceed to the voting result because she need quickly go to airport for snsd concert i think in Japan or China? And also while they are in concert tour she practiced alone without his partner. She go back and forth to perform. And also she has taping in IY 2 and sometimes she came late in the middle of the broadcast. And the thing is she has a high energy among the members and it's a good thing she can't be easily sick. But we don't know, sometimes she is in a quiet mode and we didn't realize that she may feel sick that time, but all I know is when she seat at the back of their car she feel the travel sickness 😅
Damn I guess the songwriters actually did a good job writing parts that caters to each vocalist's sound because some parts didn't sound right when another singer sings it. Jessica's parts are really unique and it doesn't sound right when Tiffany or Seohyun sings it. Same thing for everyone else.

Christinfany Pun Tiffany CAN hit SOME high notes BUT it's unstable and is unpleasant. And it's not as high as Seohyun cause their vocal ranges are so much different from each other. Seohyun is a soprano while Tiffany is an alto.
seohyun seems the most versatile when it comes to covering other member's parts; usually she can match the original without messing up notes or harmonies and the quality of her voice usually matches the original pretty closely (which could be SM assigning parts well but who knows)
I was always wondering: Jessica is ALWAYS the one who covers Taeyeon when she's missing 'cuz only Jessica can manage Taeyeon's difficult parts as good as Taeyeon. But why not Taeyeon is the one ALWAYS let to cover Jessica's parts even most of them also are the hardest parts in the songs. Tiffany and Seohyun do the cover well but it would be better if Taeyeon cover those parts. But then I remember that Taeyeon and Jessica get the most lines in the songs, if they ALWAYS and ONLY cover each other when the other is missing, the songs will be like their solo performance with many back up singers. In 2021 we learn that - No one can replace each other part perfectly - SNSD slay even early in their career - All of them can sing - Their mics are on - They eat cd as usual - And even when only 5 member on the stage (1 main vocal, 1 lead vocal) they can cover the rest (we know this because of Oh!GG), that's how amazing they are. Imagine any other girl group when only half of their member available, I doubt they will perform as good as SNSD

Actually if you listen close enough you can tell that the voice of the original member (that wasn't there) doing the part is still playing in the background, just faint and soft, as compared to those of the members that are actually singing on stage.
most Korean girlbands/boybands do sing live on tv shows, while having the recorded voice played in the background as well(which is called AR, in low volume). it's because they have to dance and might miss some parts

Wow, this goes to show that their parts are nearly made for them. Most of them did really well covering each other, but you could notice how some of them had a lot of trouble going deep or high enough to hit the notes. They all handled it really well though!
For your information, Taeyeon didn't cover for Jessica during the boys because probably she was sick (if you watched that full performance and listen carefully, Taeyeon was the only one who lip synced). Since I'm a long time sone, I can tell and guess if Taeyeon is lip syncing or not, by looking at her face expression, lips and voice difference. Anyway Seohyun did well in covering all member's parts. Same goes to Sica! :) Tiffany did well too but not during the boys because she has a high pitch voice. :)
Like thousand years later. Literally, Sunny is one of the best vocalists of SNSD, she is very capable to do high notes and low tones too. I expect some people apreciate her vocals more in the new sub-unit of SNSD. Even TY said she was one of the best vocalist. Tiffany really strained a lot her voice, but if you listen now, doing her solo carreer, she managed well low notes and high notes, but she said that she doesn't know how to treat well her voice in SM, and now she cares a lot of her voice, also, she has nodules.

Honestly, I think often Jessica doesn't get enough credit for really holding the group together vocally, especially in the earlier years, because if Taeyeon isn't there, Jessica is the only one consistent and level enough to always cover anything, on short notice. People may dislike her voice, because it's a bit high and whiny, but there's no questioning her consistency and calm mindset on stage.
I agree. But it doesn't seem like Jessica doesn't really care for singing anymore. Well it just seems like she cares more for fashion and the visuals nowadays bc it seems her singing is getting worse. Not that I think she's a bad singer now but in my opinion she stopped progressing and went a little backwards, vocally that is.

Tiffany has a deep & husky voice, but powerful at the same time. Tiffany will be the best at covering raps, medium notes, & some high notes that suits with her voice. Sorry for my bad english.

@@tyfalma Nope, she's one of the busiest among the members. She manage her schedule very well, she lesser her time to this things to do the other things, i don't know if she has time to sleep. Example is DWTS i forgot what episode it is, but on that episode where she won and his partner, after their performance she didn't proceed to the voting result because she need quickly go to airport for snsd concert i think in Japan or China? And also while they are in concert tour she practiced alone without his partner. She go back and forth to perform. And also she has taping in IY 2 and sometimes she came late in the middle of the broadcast. And the thing is she has a high energy among the members and it's a good thing she can't be easily sick. But we don't know, sometimes she is in a quiet mode and we didn't realize that she may feel sick that time, but all I know is when she seat at the back of their car she feel the travel sickness 😅
Damn I guess the songwriters actually did a good job writing parts that caters to each vocalist's sound because some parts didn't sound right when another singer sings it. Jessica's parts are really unique and it doesn't sound right when Tiffany or Seohyun sings it. Same thing for everyone else.
Taeyeon sounds good covering Jessica's part because their vocal colour is quite similar, they are both strong and high. But I get what you mean, Tiffany couldn't pull of Jessica's part in The Boys at all.

PROOF that each member has a WIDE RANGE in their vocals! Even though members are missing, they can make a song work, without it sounds too off or incomplete... I mean, I know a lot of people will say Tiffany's vocals aren't good to cover Jessica's parts, but it works, at least I think so. I know she can't hit Jessica's high notes perfectly, but she's working on it, I mean MR. MR., she is killing it!!!!

Seohyun and Taeyeon can match Jessica's part but I think Seohyun will be better with it if it's not too high, because she has a soft voice like Jessica(?). I mean, Taeyeon's voice feels very strong, she suits covering Tiffany's parts. The others, ugh well, Sooyoung and Sunny did great. XD

seohyun seems the most versatile when it comes to covering other member's parts; usually she can match the original without messing up notes or harmonies and the quality of her voice usually matches the original pretty closely (which could be SM assigning parts well but who knows)
I was always wondering: Jessica is ALWAYS the one who covers Taeyeon when she's missing 'cuz only Jessica can manage Taeyeon's difficult parts as good as Taeyeon. But why not Taeyeon is the one ALWAYS let to cover Jessica's parts even most of them also are the hardest parts in the songs. Tiffany and Seohyun do the cover well but it would be better if Taeyeon cover those parts.
But then I remember that Taeyeon and Jessica get the most lines in the songs, if they ALWAYS and ONLY cover each other when the other is missing, the songs will be like their solo performance with many back up singers. So now it really makes sence.

- SNSD slay even early in their career
- All of them can sing
- Their mics are on
- They eat cd as usual
- And even when only 5 member on the stage (1 main vocal, 1 lead vocal) they can cover the rest (we know this because of Oh!GG), that's how amazing they are.
Imagine any other girl group when only half of their member available, I doubt they will perform as good as SNSD

Actually if you listen close enough you can tell that the voice of the original member (that wasn't there) doing the part is still playing in the background, just faint and soft, as compared to those of the members that are actually singing on stage.
most Korean girlbands/boybands do sing live on tv shows, while having the recorded voice played in the background as well(which is called AR, in low volume). it's because they have to dance and might miss some parts

Jessica's parts are like uncoverable. It is because her voice is unique, and her parts usually hard to sing. I assume you know how the combo of having a nice voice and knowing how to use it is powerful. I still think it's a big loss for SM and GG. But, oh well. The past is the past. Still go to memory trip from times to times to listen to this signature sound of GG: Taeyeon x Jessica harmonization.

Yes, all of them have their own color. And the part like in Hoot, fits Jessica's color and her way of singing the most (or we tend to think like that because we hear her singing it first). For a group performance, I think changing her tone to cover other members' parts is a plausible thing to do. It was *indeed* a temporary replace. And she did a good job doing it. If she covers the (whole) song her style, I would love to hear how she sings it in her style and her normal voice.

I'm sorry SM tiffany is a great singer but stop giving a her Jessica part to cover. Wow, this goes to show that their parts are nearly made for them. Most of them did really well covering each other, but you could notice how some of them had a lot of trouble going deep or high enough to hit the notes. They all handled it really well though!

For your information, Taeyeon didn't cover for Jessica during the boys because probably she was sick (if you watched that full performance and listen carefully, Taeyeon was the only one who lip synced). Since I'm a long time sone, I can tell and guess if Taeyeon is lip syncing or not, by looking at her face expression, lips and voice difference. Anyway Seohyun did well in covering all member's parts. Same goes to Sica! :) Tiffany did well too but not during the boys because she has a high pitch voice. :)

Like thousand years later. Literally, Sunny is one of the best vocalists of SNSD, she is very capable to do high notes and low tones too. I expect some people apreciate her vocals more in the new sub-unit of SNSD. Even TY said she was one of the best vocalist. Tiffany really strained a lot her voice, but if you listen now, doing her solo carreer, she managed well low notes and high notes, but she said that she doesn't know how to treat well her voice in SM, and now she cares a lot of her voice, also, she has nodules.
U can see how everybody is need it, its not the same when other sings the part of another members, thats why I love of my 9 angels :D all important and special :3
