    I had the Tascam 424 MK2 years ago. Had some great fun with it. I didn't think to do this so yes I have learnt something. Supah accent btw!

      Let's keep on learning... I will try to be without my farmer Dutch accent soon haha :)

      If you like multitrack recording on tape, checkout a recorder like the Tascam da-98hr, it has 8 channels and records onto DTRS Hi8 tape, you can even link multiple machines to get many tracks!

    do you have an clue about the sound through the monitor is much louder than when played back? greetings and thanks for the vid!

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No not really... can you be more specific?

  • @brunobaw657
    @brunobaw657 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you use the Fx1 out for the 4th track out ? Its pre or post EQ? Does it need to be routed for the "monitor" rotary fader or goes directly to the output? Also, can you use the Fx2 out for the 3rd track with this configuration just moving the cables, or its relevant for volume purposes to first go to the monitor section? Thanks in advance!!

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, this is the only way... from the top of my head effect1 is post fader, so you need to raise the fader which will get the signal on to the main outputs as well...

    can't you send out track 4 over the second Effect Send? i mean there are two effects sends

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because for the FX send 1 to be getting a signal, you have to turn up the fader, which makes the sound also go to the main output... fx send 2/tape cue, you can leave the fader down...

    what cable converters do you use to get out from the tascam? right now im going rca out into a mini mixer and then 1/4 inch to my soundcard...not very efficient though. would rather do straight into the soundcard

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      just rca to jack cable... or you can get a rca adapter for a normal jack cable.

      @@SupahDupahare u using 1 rca cable? or are u using a dual head cable and splitting both ends into the outputs for ur panning? srry still figuring this out haha

    • @jorgegarza6837
      @jorgegarza6837 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      i have one dual rca to 1/4inch but for the sync out and the other L output u have, did u use the same dual head cable? or did you have seperate cables?

    Could you demonstrate how you record with the 424? recently just picked one up.

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will see if I can do that... but it's pretty much the same as on the 414. And to record the tracks to your daw, it simply has 4 separate outputs on the back, to make life so much easier :)

    • @Ejlectronics6
      @Ejlectronics6 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's really handy. Another question. How do/do you store all your tape loops? You just have a stockpile of tape loop cassettes or do you just record what you need into a DAW then wipe the cassette to start again?

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just make a song with it and then use it again for another song. I finish a song in 1 or 2 days... that works for me!

    Hi, how to avoid hum when record to/out tascam? It's a problem for me sometimes.

    • @SupahDupah
      @SupahDupah  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My 414 also did hum a bit, my issue was a not powerful enough adapter, when I changed it for a more powerful one, it started to work without humming... (until now ;) ) So it maybe worth it to check that! Hope this helps!

      Yeah, sometimes it is fine, but if you have tight grooves, it could be out of whack :)
