- It's the WIi's turn! Given the Wii was released over 10 years ago, I'm considering it a "retro" console.
Most of these games are Wii exclusive - but I threw in a few ports, just to show how the Wii could hold its own.
The Wii has a bit of a bad reputation; it was, unfortunately, saddled with a large amount of shovelware, which tended to shade peoples' opinion of the system. This is a real shame because if you look at the system's best, there were some truly amazing games in there.
Watch this video at 1080p (HD) for best results. A lot of these games may look better than you may remember...

The video that made me want a Wii. So many unique games.
Such a nostalgic trip seeing these games. I didn't have a PS3 or 360 for a long time, so i played a lot of games on the Wii. There's so much underated games like Red Steel 2, Zack & Wiki, Sin & Punishment and so on. I was kind of bitter seeing games like Uncharted in HD consoles and not been able to play them at that time, but now i want so much to revisit some of those Wii titles. Unfortanetely, there aren't places to play them. Praying for Nintendo to release some form of Virtual Console of the GC/Wii era titles.
The last one is criminally underrated
I still playing Murasama and Pandora's tower on wii in 2019...ive a Ps4, xbox one, wii and pc, but they are my favorite games. Nice job Nintendo!
i find funny that most of the People here are saying things like "wii is an awful console","Wii sucks" or "it don't have good games" but those People are wrong as you can see on the video the Nintendo wii have a lot of good/great/amazing games and besides no being advanced as a xbox 360 or a ps3 it still a great console and it was the first console with actual good motion controls (most part of the time). for all the People saying that the wii "sucks" i say: You are Wrong.

It may not have the HD graphics but it also gave you an at home experience that PS3 and Xbox 360 couldn't because if the peripherals. I have a 360 with 4 times more games in my collection than my Wii. But I still like and play my Wii more.
The people that are saying that kind of stuff are just butt hurt fanboys of Sony and Microsoft that need to get off there high horse.
A lot of the games on this list couldve been SO much better if I wasn't for the fact it was exclusively behind the Wii's stupid gimmick controls.
I have a wii i play with it. Wii sucks. Wii doesn't have enough good games. Playstation 3 is better. Xbox 360 is Better. Pc is better.
I have played some of the "good games" people talk about and just a few really entertained me. I wish i could play games like Devil may Cry 3, Gta San Andreas, Gta V, Cod Black ops 2, CSGO, Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Uncharted, Halo, Half life.
Wii has very few good games... i think that because i know a lot of xbox360-ps3-pc games that are way better in terms of Graphics, Gameplay, Controls, Length, whatever...
Wii is not a bad console. But it really isn't a great console. The online service was bad, The console only supported 480p maximum with most of the games having Frame Drops and Performance issues, and Bad graphics. The controllers were expensive, the console didn't even have some anime games, it had but a few, and hidden ones.

wii is so underrated IMO, if it had HD graphics it would have been so awesome
well it's the fifth most selling console on top of xbox 360 and ps3 so there's that :D
KeefeBrah on a PC using Dolphin or Dolphin Custom build it can be 4K, and use Wii remotes with the bar, GameCube controllers, snes, virtual arcade. You can even use other consoles controllers if you want to. That how we use our Wii stuff now. Our actual Wii sits upstairs unused, except to rip our games to the computer.

Graphs are not what makes a game good it it in the quality of the gameplay itself that makes the game good. :)

The wii truly did have a great selection of games. Shame that it was filled to the brim with shovelware.
Look at the PS2. Best selling console of all time and has just as much shovelware. The more popular the console the more shovelware it's going to get. It's simple facts man.
@@fireheartis1 Perfectly put. I love collecting for the Wii right now. Rail Guns shooters the first party Nintendo games. The Peripherals, And the exclusive 3rd party games on it were amazing. This system destroys the much loved Gamecube imo.
I think it's safe to say we'll just ignore all the shovelware and compare good games to the other good ones. Can't knock shovelware too bad. It's clearly not marketed for ages 13-30 and it really shouldn't be treated or compared as such.
@@fireheartis1 pretty much any console with sales into the 100 millions will have a lot of shovelware; I'm sure the PS1, PS4 and the DS all have their share of shovelware too, albeit the PS4 to a lesser extent considering most of the casual demographic has moved on to mobile gaming now! I can imagine the DS having a lot more than the Wii and PS2 combined!
@@fireheartis1 Exactly every successful console has shovelware. NES, SNES, Gameboy, PS1, PS2 ect. I don't really get why its constantly brought up whenever the Wii is mentioned as if its some great crippling flaw.
I still own a Wii and Plays it, now my kids plays it with me. We are still enjoying thanks to Nintendo. Kids loves the controls.
This is the only countdown I've seen with a boy and his blob on there it is such an amazing game and deserves more credit than it gets

If you ignore the shovelware, the Wii's library isn't that bad. Third parties mostly treated it like shit, and NOA's attitude back then was absolutely fucking terrible, but it amassed a solid collection of gems. It was great for platformers and offbeat Japanese titles.

I recently bought an used wii because I wanted to revisit it. I used to have one years ago but then I definitely under appreciated it.
Some great games! Hope they put them on the Switch and have virtual console on it.
That's what I don't understand so many game from the Wii and the Wii you were incredible games especially some Indies also.
The Wii sold so many millions of units, like the person who made the video said too much shovel where is what killed what was many great games.
If you look at what the switch is doing basically did is throwing the same game on the switch and people are buying it like hotcakes when you can get the same game about 2 to $5 Max.
Nintendo is making a killing off people, the same game over and over again repeated on each system, and people still keep on doing this besides the Wii U and don't get me wrong the Wii U is a very good system, many excellent games, I don't know why it truly failed maybe no third party.
I honestly don't see why this which is selling so well, it got a 3 hour battery life or maybe three and a half, you need to buy an SD card, so many accessories you need to get a full experience.
I guess the switch will win with handheld, but if we're in dock mode or so called console mode, give me the Wii U.. look at the games almost replicas it looks a little bit better on the switch because it's on a tiny screen, you can get the same game on the Wii U for dirt cheap, that's assuming you wanted as a Home console, agreed Nintendo will win with the switch, I just don't understand why people are buying just like hotcakes like they're Reinventing the wheel, basically it's just an enlarged Nintendo DS or 3 DS, honestly it's a really under-powered system, people somehow look past all the flaws, totally is just basically a mid-range Android at best.
But I got to give it to Nintendo their first party games they spend years to make and they make the best of what the council can do maybe even better than what it is, that goes for all Nintendo systems, Nintendo first-party is carrying the switch, right now things are going really slowly the indie games are carrying, but don't worry December they have Smash Brothers, imagine that console living and selling Millions just basically on about three or four games.
What I do like is at least the Indie developers are now making good money, even though these are pretty much the same games they were selling on the Wii and Wii U anyways and on Steam, somehow with this which they're being highlighted and selling like hotcakes which I think they fully deserve.
I don't really play but if you play dead cell, I can guarantee you that is one of the best games ever come out.
Just want to say thanks again to the person who made this video, it's always good to see what the Wii had, and I agree many that you showed look really really good they held up pretty well over the years.
My only question would be which games can be played without the silly motion controls?
If you can make a video with all the games that give can be played without the motion controls that would be really good, either way thanks a lot it was good watching and seeing how many great games I missed, and now I can probably go play some :-)

Sin & Punishment almost looks like an early console-HD game here, perhaps because of that it's a footage of the game running on an emulation?
Wii got a (still has) very bad rep because of all those shovelwares, so many has already forgotten about its good game library.
Wii's library outclasses Wii U's library vastly since Wii actually got a lot of third-parties (F-I-V-E CoD games!) plus many games on many different genres, but unfortunately the fanbase of Wii U will continue with its insane chanting about Wii U being the best console forever, no matter what.

Its definitely a Retro Consoles and is going to become highly collectible in a few years. The Wii is the only system that gives you at home a full Dave and Buster's experience in your living room for cheap. And does the rail gun shooters better than any other system. People will miss the experience and will want to go back to it. So if your on the fence about Wii collecting I suggest you get on it soon cause prices are already raising.

These graphics look much sharper than the ones I get today on my Wii and 4K HDTV... I suspect you are using some emulator or something that makes it look better? Quick question while we're at it? Would replacing composite cables (red-white-yellow) with component cables make the Wii graphics sharper/nicer in any noticeable way? I know the Wii doesn't output anything > 480p, I have it plugged in with the composite cable and never had the change to try the component one. Thanks!
Component is much much better than composite. It's even better than Wii2HDMI. Not only is the image sharper, but you get progressive scan 480p. I think you only get 480i with composite (interlaced, 30fps max). On a PAL Wii component is essential as it gives you the 60Hz 480p option.
(And yes, he's using an emulator)

Does anybody remember the name of that one game where you basically play a little plump boy with an Orange Ball over his head with which he had to fight?
If I recall correctly, the dad had a blue ball oder his head, some if his sisters were yellow and pink and they had to fight against alien like creatures. The further you got into the game, the more characters you had to fight against these aliens. And every time you have to fight, you basically have to charge your ball (over their head) and there were upgrades you could use for your ball like density or clarity and sparkling or whatever. Hope the last part doesn't make it too hard to guess 😂

Maybe you didn't realise there's a component lead for Wii? Wii comes with standard scart or RGB I think, which is not sharp looking.

Wii has really amazing games and it is the most latest and powerful console that we can emulate on Android devices at full speed. But I really wish it didn't had those weird controllers, makes it really difficult to play games on a touchscreen device.

When you play your Wii games on the Wii U it upscales them to 720p.
