It's back together and finished. This is the last in the wall series. I try to focus on the ends and outs of sealing the wall and what we did to re-laminate this 2006 Winnebago Journey. Thanks for watching.
James you are a great teacher to all of us and you are a great example to Chad and whomever you work with about being thorough and taking pride in your work.
I was laughing about three minutes in when the new wall and logo went up because before I even clicked on the video I thought…they must be doing more Winnebago work. You have definitely made me remove any winne’s from my RV search. Totally sold me on a Beaver though. Winnebago, oh how the mighty have fallen.
Jim you have done a great job I know it’s hard to guesstimate time with this kind of work you never know what you are getting in to . Thanks for sharing.
Like the quality of your work, wincebago is now off the list, even though I know their build quality is better than most. Really makes buying an rv a worrisome prospect. These vids really help with educating the public, many thanks for your efforts.
Very educational series. Thanks for the indepth education on how they put this together and issues all manufactures deal with in different ways. They try to make them as light and "pretty" as they can which is not always the most sturdy. Thanks again. Stay safe and healthy.
Awesome job fixing a mess. I get a lot from watching you use the correct sealant for the different locations on an RV. Will complete a thorough inspection of my 2016 Tiffin Open Road as soon as I get some good weather.
Awesome job gentlemen!! I appreciate the attention to detail as that repair will last a long time. Well worth the cost to repair and get more life out of the RV. Otherwise, people would just sell it and give the new owner a real headache.
I’d bet there are less than 20 people in the USA that can do what you guys do at the level and professionalism both you & Chad exhibit. Outstanding! Now that the owner has it back together, sell the damn thing.
Great job - looks better than factory. What a huge amount of work, no wonder no one wants to deal with these sorts of issues. There are so many subtle details were you need deep knowledge to get it right.
Absolutely great job. Very detailed explanation. A note about sealant compatibility. I notice you use silicone and urethane. Where the two types contact each other, you need to be careful. After 40 years as a commercial glazier, I learned that silicone will bond to urethane, but urethane will NOT bond to silicone. Learned this through compatibility tests and failed window installations. Amazing the amount of labor involved in this project. Again, great job!!
Thanks for taking the time to show me what I might attempt on my 94 Winnebago Vectra 35rq diesel pusher this summer. I was wondering what it might look like, but I kind of figured it would just be work and lots of it. Thanks again, great channel!
My 98 Vectra needs the same repair. Water intrusion in the middle of the driver's side wall and the filon has split in a few places. Did you do your repair?
I love the amount of detail y'all put into your work. I live in Salt Lake and I would drive down to AZ to have you work on my trailer. Love to watch you two work and how you do things. Keep the videos coming please.
This is my second time watching this video, and makes me want to work harder inspecting my RV for leaks. Amazing how just two or three small holes can cause so many problem. If you do not know how to so permeance on your motorhome then pay for someone that does know how. I just do not know anyone that I can trust myself. Thank you for sharing !
James - I cannot believe how poorly these products are put together! How do you get by with this junk they are selling? People pay big money for these campers only to find rotted roofs and poor material requiring a lot of work and Expense to try to repair ! In my mind Safety becomes a big Issue ! When you lose Confidence in a company always trying to pass the buck to someone else it becomes a down hill slide! I believe these companies should be held accountable for all of this poor Workmanship? Thanks for Great Videos and expert Workmanship on these repairs !
Good work! And proves to me that I made a wise choice purchasing a travel trailer built with Azdel sidewalls! I’ve seen way to many Travel trailers, 5th wheels, Class C’s & A’s with de-lamination due to water damaged luan walls & caps.🤦🏻♂️ Question is...why don’t owners regularly check seals ALL over their units? Cheaper to replace cracking/loose seals than having this kind of work done! Happy travels to all.
I really appreciate your videos they are very informative I've learned more in the past few months about RV construction that I have in years of owning one. Thx again
You're much better man than I as that is one heck of a job to take on. I have to say your repair is more than likely better than what that RV left the factory with. Doing things the right way isn't always fun but I promise everyone doing it right the first time is more fun than having to redo your own work let alone someone else's work...
Excellent job James. You added value and longevity to that motor home. Jobs like this Always take a heck of a lot more time then anticipated, we just hope we can recover the costs. Always a pleasure, thanks for the vids
New subscriber here, thank you for all the detailed info. I have a 1997 Winnebago Adventure with side delamination. So far you have the most info about it. I learned a lot. Thank you. Have a blessed day
Thank you for doing this job. Exactly what I was looking for. Been wondering how someone fixes this kinda issue where a whole layer of a wall is compromised
We do the same thing when we're on Saul quarry, on, but we use denatured alcohol. So we put nice clean beads on and it doesn't So it doesn't stick to the Cory on where we don't want it. Looks good bud
This whole series was great. Very informative as usual. Also liked your whole inspection video of that Phaeton. Maybe do one of those a month or each quarter?
Older video but most informative! Too bad, I never came across your channel, be it a bit late. I would have tackled our older Georgie Boy and repaired the de-lamination properly. In many ways the GB was a better motor-home than the new Jayco we bought.
Nice job guys, I have a 2002 Itasca Horizon that had similar work done on the passenger side for type of water leak. They ended up replacing the whole wall for close to 20k.
Another great job James.. better than factory looks like to me.. only so much you can do.. What sealant do you recommend to seal screws etc on a painted steel roof on my Wanderlodge? I need to re-install the track for my awning its coming loose and I will need to seal it and also a bunch of other holes in the roof where screws mount the aluminum decking on the roof.
Great job! After spending the labor to remove the filon and clean up the luan, would using a material resistant to delaminated, like Azdel, or maybe coosa (if available in thin sheets) reduce potential delamination from future leaking? I don't understand why the RV industry uses.luan on the exterior. It seems like dissolves when wet!
Great job I know those projects can be tedious and just watching it doesn’t tell the tell can you tell me what type of adhesive that was used to put back that panel thank you
The seams at the slide look like they’re always going to be a problem. 🤔 You may have to take temp readings with a laser to monitor those areas going forward.
Silicone on cap moldings?? Why not ProFlex on those areas as well? I’m kinda done with silicone..am I wrong? Love your vids and thanks in advance for your answer
If you're willing to give some advice... I'm working on a shuttle bus conversion and ended up having to take the entire thing down to the steel frame due to rot and rust. Now that I'm ready to rebuild the sidewalls would you recommend laminating the filon to the luan on the ground as an entire wall piece and then attaching to the frame....or attach the luan to the frame and then apply the filon to the luan. (Largest side is 13ftx6ft single panel). My concern is placing the filon properly on a vertical surface?
James you are a great teacher to all of us and you are a great example to Chad and whomever you work with about being thorough and taking pride in your work.
85% better? You guys don’t give yourself enough credit. Well done!
thank you
This is the type of video that lets you know Certain things you pay to have done ! ✨
And I can’t believe I just spent all that time watching all three videos, and enjoying it! Great job, very informative.
Wow, thanks!
Not a DIY project without proper shop, tools and a ton of knowledge. Again always impressed with you folks work!
Don't forget the roof over the RV is a must.
Thanks 👍
What a gift, to be lucky enough to watch your RV being repaired with high standards only you guys can provide!!!
thank you very much''
I was laughing about three minutes in when the new wall and logo went up because before I even clicked on the video I thought…they must be doing more Winnebago work. You have definitely made me remove any winne’s from my RV search. Totally sold me on a Beaver though. Winnebago, oh how the mighty have fallen.
Beaver is amazing
I feel like I’m an apprentice watching your videos. Thanks James
Very welcome
Great job James. You and Chad make it look so easy. If that was my motorhome I would be very pleased, until the got me the bill.
Keith, I agree with your comments, but I guess we do get what we pay for, as proven by the previous repair of this issue.
Jim you have done a great job I know it’s hard to guesstimate time with this kind of work you never know what you are getting in to . Thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
I like how you applied tape when putting the top (temporary) screws in. Very impressed with your skills and craftsmanship! Steve
thank you, seemed like a good choice.
Like the quality of your work, wincebago is now off the list, even though I know their build quality is better than most. Really makes buying an rv a worrisome prospect. These vids really help with educating the public, many thanks for your efforts.
Glad you like them!
Absolutely AMAZING GREAT WORK !!! You and Chad are artists. You apply both art and science in getting it done properly..
Good job James and Chad. Happy trails!
Thanks again for the nice comments, Phil!
Good job guys! Slides leak - got it! No slides for me!!!! 🤣😂🤪👍😛🤪🇨🇦
That has been my experience at least.
Nice work! Good thing she decided to repair.
It's not cheap but definitely cheaper than a new RV
Very educational series. Thanks for the indepth education on how they put this together and issues all manufactures deal with in different ways. They try to make them as light and "pretty" as they can which is not always the most sturdy. Thanks again. Stay safe and healthy.
I enjoy your videos, I think in my younger days I would have enjoyed this work
Thank you very much!
You made my mind up for me. I will not be fixing mine myself. That's a ton of work.
It is
Awesome job fixing a mess. I get a lot from watching you use the correct sealant for the different locations on an RV. Will complete a thorough inspection of my 2016 Tiffin Open Road as soon as I get some good weather.
I could try
Absolutely fantastic work!
Water will always be an RV issue, if the original installation is not 100% waterproofed correctly.
They rarely are
It's not if it leaks. It's when it leaks😮 great job
Awesome job gentlemen!! I appreciate the attention to detail as that repair will last a long time. Well worth the cost to repair and get more life out of the RV. Otherwise, people would just sell it and give the new owner a real headache.
Thanks 👍
It sure is great to have your awesome videos. Would be great to have a repair team in Raleigh, NC area as great as your team!
I’d bet there are less than 20 people in the USA that can do what you guys do at the level and professionalism both you & Chad exhibit. Outstanding!
Now that the owner has it back together, sell the damn thing.
Thank you. I think she really has made that RV her home and loves it.
Amazing work guys! It's good to see honest people in the industry! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I guess you proved it can be done, nice job, an unbelievable amount of labor, don’t know how you could bid it
Thanks!
Great job - looks better than factory. What a huge amount of work, no wonder no one wants to deal with these sorts of issues. There are so many subtle details were you need deep knowledge to get it right.
Very true!
Great set of videos James. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for this.
Glad you enjoyed it

My 98 Vectra needs the same repair. Water intrusion in the middle of the driver's side wall and the filon has split in a few places. Did you do your repair?
Man what a job. Great job repairing. If I had it to do over I would not get any slide outs, but I’m learning as I go
Love these. Will watch them all.
I love the amount of detail y'all put into your work. I live in Salt Lake and I would drive down to AZ to have you work on my trailer. Love to watch you two work and how you do things. Keep the videos coming please.
thank you so much, I hope you won't need to
@@AZExpert we all know how these are built. It's only a matter of time.

It is crazy how much damage a little water can do
awesome job brother, that's more than I would be willing to tackle. Keep the videos coming I pick up so many tips from you.
Great series!
Thanks for watching

Excellent job James. Appreciate the technical video's.
glad to hear it, thanks
Great series and especially interesting to me since i own a 07 Journey myself. Always keeping an eye out for potential leak areas. Thanks.
That's the plan!
Looks great. Come over the Charlotte, NC and fix my 5th wheel. I stopped the leak and have learned to live with it.
Next time!
I really appreciate your videos they are very informative I've learned more in the past few months about RV construction that I have in years of owning one. Thx again
Great to hear!
Finished job looks as good as new. Nice to see someone that still takes pride in their work 👍 😎
Thanks 👍
Nice job guys! Looks good for what you had to work with.

Very impressed to say the least.

Outstanding job! She’s lucky you did the work.

WoW ! what a big job
Now that was a big job! You did well!
Good job,, as good as new if not better,,from the land down under...
Thanks!
Thank you for doing this job. Exactly what I was looking for. Been wondering how someone fixes this kinda issue where a whole layer of a wall is compromised
Awesome!
What a difficult repair wow
Thanks for watching

Looks good bud
This was a big job, and you guys did beautifully. The only problem is that all three videos should have had the same title followed by 1, 2, and 3.
They're are older videos, I need to go back through the library it's on the list of things to do. :) Thanks!
Now thats how the Pro`s do it , Great job
May have taken too long, but owner has coach that will last much longer than factory.Great job again.Shame you dont live in Texas.
Off to buy clear sealant... I am replacing lights ...next is vents ... The joy of a 20 year old Fleetwood ... ;)
This whole series was great. Very informative as usual. Also liked your whole inspection video of that Phaeton. Maybe do one of those a month or each quarter?

Ive replaced a couple complete sidewalls under Winnebago warranty, sure wish I had recorded it but it was 15 years ago
Wow, you do amazing work. To bad you are not in the Dallas area. I am so impressed with the work you do.
Thank you!
I’m very happily surprised by how much you can roll back those painted metal walls.
Those are “filon” finerglass walls
You guys do an awesome job!
thank you
Ya get an A plus.Great job
Great job
Another job well done!
Thanks again!
What a freaking job.
As always very nice
Thanks again!
I don't know if i would buy a bago after seeing these problems. They look nice but.... Really enjoy your stuff !
Fair enough!
Another great job James.. better than factory looks like to me.. only so much you can do..

Very Nice work !

Hey James, can do a video how you drill out broken screws please 🙏 Thanks Rob
Amazing work. Man those rv are so problematic
Yes they are
Silicone on cap moldings?? Why not ProFlex on those areas as well? I’m kinda done with silicone..am I wrong? Love your vids and thanks in advance for your answer

Great repair considering the financial cap.
