      He doesn't have that mane anymore that he once had either. He was a licensed pilot who did airline transport work and did that after retiring from wrestling. His kayfabe brother Ronnie who in real life is actually his step father with only an 8 year age difference actually owns a couple of car dealerships in the Charlotte area. So they both did very well outside of wrestling.

      I remember Buddy Roberts better as part of the mid to late 1970s Hollywood Blonds with Jerry Brown (who had bleach blond hair with dark body hair). They wrestled in California but you could watch them weekly in the Northeast on a UHF Spanish-language channel.

      +DefLeppardVanHalen What stunned me, was when Terry Gordy the youngest & arguably the most talented of the 4 passed away, first. They were the only reason I liked wrestling & now that just 2 remain & both are retired, I don't even watch it no more. I'll either watch youtube or my dvds for wrestling. But on the bright side, I still have the Freebirds feuding with the Von Erichs, the Midnight Rockers, the Rock N Roll Express or whoever else they find, with my NWA wrestling game. lol Sure beats watching the WWE. I've been having matches for 30 years with this game. Given the choice of this, or watching the WWE on TV well, I'll stick to this, cos its my federation & unlike Vince, I know how to run it right. Even have up, my own forum where I post the action at. Plus, I still have the stars beating up the jobbers on the weekends on TBS. lol

      +defiantone what game You talking about is it fire pro wrestling???

    • @defiantone8556
      @defiantone8556 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jamie Slauenwhite Well much like this clip on youtube, the wrestling game in question is also old school. And by that, I mean its not a video game. Oh, I have video games, don't get me wrong. I have several game systems & hundreds of video games but I find the video game wrestling to be a bit of a bore. No, what I have requires people to use what I like to call that lump that's 3 feet above the ass called a brain. It was perhaps the first ever REAL wrestling simulation game that came out. Depending on your age, you might know it. It was advertised in those old Bill Apter wrestling magazines in the 80's The name of the game is The Superstar Pro Wrestling Game. Its a cards & dice wrestling simulation game. Its also called the SPWG for short. You can be any federation you want, but I tend to be an NWA feller, myself. But unlike the video game age, this game its up to YOU to create all the story lines & angles for your talent roster & its up to you to book all the matches & TV shows & PPV's & all the other things that go right along in the REAL world of pro wrestling.
      I have up a forum where we all post at. Its also up to you to post up your own ratings & stuff like that. Plus you can invent NEW wrestlers & NEW grudge match concepts. I just came up with 2 NEW grudge matches last week. Ones called the "Desert Storm" match & the other is called the "Shock N Awe" match. And best of all, I didn't have to wait till the holiday season for it to come out. And even better is, it didn't cost me nothing. lol You can also get free downloads of the game, so there's no excuse whatsoever for people NOT to get in the ring & have some fun. Myself, with the Freebirds I don't care if my team wins or loses, just so long as we raise hell, piss off the idiot fans, raise the heat, & get the good guys over, cos when ya think about it, that's the Birds job in the first place & they do it well. lol I also invented the Amusement Park match where the action takes place at an actual Amusement Park. From the bumper cars to the tilt a whirl ride, to the putt-putt golf course to the fun house & all points in between.
      I also came up with the Amusement Park 2nd Edition so you can raise even MORE hell!!! Plus my version of the Chicago Street Fight can go outside the arena & spill over to the high school football field where you can suplex your foe off the goal post & then it can spill over to the car wash where you might even get a hot wax job & then it might spill over to the gas station or even the Walmart parking lot, you just never know. With my NWA the best complement I could ever get is, for people to say after the show is over, "Man, these are some crazy sumbitches." lol I love the SPWG because it allows me the freedom to be my own boss & do more than just put a controller in my hands & have just matches. BORING!!!! With the SPWG I get to be the boss & create all the story lines & angles & book all the matches & PPV's & TV shows & House Shows & so much more. From my world famous NWA "Torture Tours" to PPV's to my World Tours & every July my month long outdoor stadium tour its a year round front row ticket to the BEST WRESTLING AROUND!!! And I can have whoever I want, in my NWA.
      The Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Dusty Rhodes, The Road Warriors, Stan Hansen, The Funks, & so many more. For 34 years I've been the NWA. And best of all, you can be any federation you want & can have any of the wrestlers you want, in your federation as my forum IS NOT a league. I don't ruin the fun with bunch of rules. The way I look at it, its your game, your stuff, do what ya want to with it. The number 1 rule on the forum is to HAVE FUN!!! And any night my Freebirds can raise hell & piss off the idiot fans is a FUN NIGHT!!! lol

But none of the wrestlers today, and I mean none of them, have the Mic skills, the personality, the charisma, the acting skills, nothing like the wrestlers from back. Want proof ?
