I worked at Busch Gardens back in high school and got to ride Alpengeist several times. Never had an issue with it being a rough ride back in late 90s early 2000s.
Great coaster fight Taylor. I might do my own coaster fights on my channel in the future. For one of them I'm thinking about putting Banshee against either Montu or Raptor (CP).
Ben Platz Nemesis is overrated, I have ridden it more than any other B&M invert and it isn't that good. I don't find it that intense, and it seems too short.
It has a whole area of the park dedicated to the the Swiss alps just for this coaster. Plus the snow, diving toward the water from the log flume, through houses, and over snow topped ski "jumps"
Donovan Mullen Alpengeist was much smoother except in the mid-course brake run. It was much more fun and smooth. Afterburn was ROUGH when I rode it last year. 100% agree with you!
Thank you! I just rode it 15 times yesterday, and I had almost no pain/discomfort on the cobra roll! For the best ride, sit in the inner 2 seats on the train; they're closer to the heartline. I guess some people can't appreciate how badass Alpengeist is.
Theme Parks and Travels! Wow! Must've been a bad row... try and get front next time, intense, fun, and nowhere near rough. I must warn you with the addition of fury Afterburns line has been quite long.
yay go afterburn well i haven'e rode either of them but my sister rode afterburn and said she really liked it. i can't wait to be 54in. so i can ride it
Awesome coaster fight!!!! I truly pick Afterburn over Alpengeist because it looks so intense, very fun, has good jet theming, and has great elements also. :)
I rode Afterburn last weekend, and the only way I can describe it, is once you figure out where you are, what you are doing, and where you're going, you're already gone
you would like kumali at flamingo land as the cobra roll is slow when it goes through it and the transition between the 2 parts of the inversion are well banked so its basicly more like a half loop then helix then half loop. Also you would love nemesis as the helixs and inversions all pull 4-5g depending on the day and seat
MoreItsDavid No one likes a Vekoma. No One. Also, it is very rough, a short ride, and uses awful Vekoma SLC trains. Taylor would NOT like an extended Vekoma SLC. (I know, it is not an extended model, but it is the Shenlin Model.)
have you ridden nemmy or kumali? Both are great rides and living around 50 min for flamingo and 2 hour from alton i think i know what is smoother, nemesis is alot more forceful throughout but it bangs your head alot more than kumali
PJ Gear It also has custom designed supports to look like a ski lift! Alpengeist has WAY MORE theming than Afterburn, which has the plane and nothing else.
Theme Parks and Travels! I bet you haven't watched the video... THE WHOLE STATION AND QUE ARE A PLANE HANGER! Wow... people that don't pay attention make me pissed
Captain Xno The queue isn't themed at all on Afterburn, with the exception of the plane outside, but on Alpengeist there's fun ski/alpine theming. It's a lot better.
Actually there are 2 trains... and it normally has less than a 5 min wait because it has amazing ride operators... There is a thing called a "long ride" if you didn't know... one can be on the life, one can be in the station, and one could be going through the ride...
I highly disagree Alpengiest is the one of the best inverts out there. I have been rideing sense it opened. And I never had a problem with the Cobra Roll or any other part of the ride for that matter. And far as layout Alpengiest has the better layout because it's custom made to integrate with the landscape witch makes it unique. And it you think Alpengiest is rough try rideing Bat Man and see if you survive that.lol
Afterburn is a joke in comparison to Alphengeist. It's a massive monster and heavily intense, an excellent coaster. Afterburn is just like every other "custom" B&M-a little more intense than the basic cloned to death model, but, otherwise, kinda underwhelming if your looking for something special. Alphengeist is special. Dragon Challenge was but...ded.
I just rode Afterburner on Friday. WOW! It wins hands down on any regular inverted coaster. I love Alpengeist because of the layout and theming, but if I just want balls to the walls thrills, there is no contest!
I'd say Alpengeist is superior, it may be the only B&M invert I've been on, but i like it a lot, and that's really all that matters to me. It's my favorite coaster and looper at Busch Gardens, and of all time! :D But Afterburn still looks like a cool kickass ride that i may want to try too. :)
Afterburn is slightly newer. Only 2 years but considering that this style of coaster was only 5 years old when Alpengeist came out, those two years could have made a big difference in making a smoother ride.
I think I like alpengeist better because it is at my home park and us intense. I dont think it is rough at all but afterburn is good too. Nice coaster fight
What do you mean Alpengiest doesn't have intense themeing are you kidding me? Busch Gardens dedicated it's own skii themed land separated from the 7 countries. I enjoy your videos but post facts not fiction.
@@CaptainXno Have you even rode (*ridden) Alpengeist? I guess not because if you did (*,) then you would know it has way better theming then (*than) Afterburn. And After Burn is spelled like Afterburn.
There's one category that I'd like to see height requirement category because it matters on how many people can and cannot ride the coaster. So the winner would be the one that more people can ride ex.(apollos chariot vs magnum, AP54inches, magnum 48inches a Magnum wins a that category).
the afterburn is way better than that other ride I get on this thing like 8 times and I like the way it sounds like a jet and u can hear it picking up speed when ur on it
Oh give me a break. Alpengeist had much better theming than Afterburner and you know it. You just don't want to admit it because you knew that if you have the points for theming to Alpengeist, than Alpengeist would win, and you wanted Afterburn to win instead.
Even though I haven't been on it i'm going to say this. Alpengeist is under rated. Here's why I grew up riding Arrows and Schwarzkopf coasters so I bet to me Alpengeist would be nothing. Go ride Revolution, Viper, Demon, and Desperado (some of my favorites) and maybe some of my Boxing classes just throw in some fun then tell me Alpengeist is rough..
I just went on Alpengeist for the first time and I don't understand why people say it's rough. My head did not move at all. It stayed in one place the whole time with me trying. I thought the ride was kind of boring because it didn't have any roughness. It felt like very little was happening. I am tall so I don't know if that could have contributed to the ride not having any head banging. I thought the ride was much smoother than any batman clones I've ridden or the old dragon challenge.
The roar in afterburn is sooooo satisfying!!
Great Coaster Fight
I agree
Afterburn is so forceful that my feet cramp from the inversions lol INTENSE FOR SURE
I really think you underrate alpengiest
The Mikey G Show This one was really biased. I mean, come on. I just KNEW you were going to give it to Alpengeist.
But Alpengiest Is faster...
I havn't ridden Alpengeist yet but I think once I ride it I'll think it's underrated...
thunderbird vs gatekeeper
yes
Dinosaurs Love looking at afterburn
lol
I have riden both and I like alpengiest more I think because it is in my Citi and Busch gardens has a lot of great quality other that the bathroom
Do your top ten roller coasters
Maybe he'll do it after summer.
I just rode afterburn and I must say, I thought that it was BETTER than intimidator. That's just me but YEAH. its amazing
4:27 that jet is sooooo dank
I love afterburn and it is my 3rd favorite coaster that I have ridden at Carowinds. I just love it. The batwing is my favorite element.
Julio Hernandez It would be my 3rd favorite ride at Carowinds too! chevy_2001 Six Flags Great America fangirl
Theme should have gone to alpengeist
Montu vs Afterburn
Montu vs. Afterburn
The cobra rolls are gonna haunt you Taylor!
lol
Alpengeist is my favorite inverted coaster💓
Alpengeist has like snow on the creater and it is beside a lov flume
yes
You need to do Montu vs alpiensgeist
I worked at Busch Gardens back in high school and got to ride Alpengeist several times. Never had an issue with it being a rough ride back in late 90s early 2000s.
This was uploaded on my birthday!!! I also live near Carowinds!!!
Cobra Roll on Alpengeist is the best part for me lol.
I've only been on the 3 b&m inverts in Cali
THERES THEMEING EVERYWHERE ON ALPENGIEST
Do you think we could possibly see a Banshee vs. Alpengeist battle?
Not currently planning one, since IMO Banshee is the clear winner. Don't need a coaster fight to determine the better ride! :)
Coaster Studios true very true!
yes
Georgia scorcher vs cheetah hunt
Do alpengeist vs banshee
yes
Montu VS Afterburn! Canada's Wonderland 5 year plan! ideas!
What is a Batwing?
It is a roller coaster element. Think of it like an upside down cobra roll, if that makes sense.
In the future do a battle between afterburner vs banshee
OMG DO MONTU VS AFTERBURN
six flags over Georgia vs six flags new england please!
should do some more busch gardens tampa coasters
YAY!
Great coaster fight Taylor. I might do my own coaster fights on my channel in the future. For one of them I'm thinking about putting Banshee against either Montu or Raptor (CP).
tkovack1 sup tommy
tkovack1 your are annoying and biast
MoreItsDavid i thwink he needs to leawn how to spweak engwish
HAHAHAHHAHA yefh i thwink he does,,?>1!
Jacob clarke MoreItsDavid Yes I doow, as a mattew of fact.
Intimadator (carowinds)
VS.
Intimadator 305 (kings dominion)
Andrew Yates I pick I305 because of its intensity and how high and fast it is.
No contest...
Andrew Yates Fury 325 (Carowinds) Vs. Intimidator 305 (Kings Dominion)
I think Fury 325!
Cody Haynes I think he did I305 vs Fury 325.
Cody Haynes Have you seen the coaster fight video of Fury and I305?
Afterburner is awesome it is one of my favorite rides at carowinds
Afterburn sounds awesome. I'd also love to ride Nemesis.
Ben Platz it's so fun!!
Ben Platz Nemesis is overrated, I have ridden it more than any other B&M invert and it isn't that good. I don't find it that intense, and it seems too short.
whats a batwing
Yeah what's a batwing?
It’s a dive loop that heads straight into an Immelmann loop( reverse dive loop).
Great video
I've noticed a lot of his favorite rides win
Alpengeist has way better theming
How?
It goes through broken houses and snow!! Exactly...
It has a whole area of the park dedicated to the the Swiss alps just for this coaster. Plus the snow, diving toward the water from the log flume, through houses, and over snow topped ski "jumps"
Relaxing so afterburn is best
Parker Wood yeah it better
the hyper coasters! Intimidator vs. Apollos Charriot!
Yay for Afterburn/Tob Gun it's gots the need....NEED FOR SPEED!!! =D
But it's slower so no.
Have you heard about The Smiler crash today?!
What do you mean no themening on alpenghiest? WHY IS THERE SNOW THEN TAYLOR. TELL ME WHY.
it's frustrating isn't it
Alpengeist has got really weird trains. It looks like 1 row of seats is missing.
That's 0 car. It's suppose to be there.
+Coaster Studios Exactly. Like Manta at Seaworld. I think it has to do with stabilizing the train and reducing more possible stress on riders
Alpengiest is WAYYY better
You should have done Great Bear vs. Alpengeist.
rollercoasterfan2000 Afterburn vs. Great Bear would've been better.
Afterburn is love Afterburn is life
Tbh i don't see what's so bad about Alpengeist's Cobra roll foreal. I have no problems and the Cobra roll isn't rough to me
Donovan Mullen Alpengeist was much smoother except in the mid-course brake run. It was much more fun and smooth. Afterburn was ROUGH when I rode it last year. 100% agree with you!
Theme Parks and Travels! Thanks you!! :D

Just wait for Banshee! ;)
Coaster studios you should do a park review of carowinds
Afterburn is really good but to short
yay go afterburn well i haven'e rode either of them but my sister rode afterburn and said she really liked it. i can't wait to be 54in. so i can ride it
That's one nasty cobra roll sums up very cobra roll out there expect bizzaro
My favorite b&m inverts
1 banshee
2 montu
3 after burn
4 silver bullet
5 raptor
Alpengeist has the mountain things above the final zero g rolls
Do u get that dropping feeling on alpengeist?
Awesome coaster fight!!!! I truly pick Afterburn over Alpengeist because it looks so intense, very fun, has good jet theming, and has great elements also. :)
I have a bad feeling a fight will go down under your comment......eventually.
Shadow Mario Yeah. Maybe...
BryceFourn 2001 I predict it will involve Chevy, Supercarfan, TheClawBros, fatmike, and maybe that I-305 mamba dude.
BryceFourn 2001 There will... * evil chuckle *
Shadow Mario and yugioh guy
Don't both coasters have white track but different yet similar color supports?
I rode Afterburn last weekend, and the only way I can describe it, is once you figure out where you are, what you are doing, and where you're going, you're already gone
you need to do el toro vs the voyage
ratpoor roars lol cuz it remind of an raptor brid so +1 pont pls.
have you been to six flags magic mountain.
Really Afterburn has better theming than Alpengeist?
Yeah I know
Alpiengiest has ski theming
Yeah there's a dinosaur right outside after burn
Ikr XD
Only snow. If you go too Carowinds, you will see afterburns OWN FREAKING GIFT SHOP (Unless they tore it down BUT STILL)
you would like kumali at flamingo land as the cobra roll is slow when it goes through it and the transition between the 2 parts of the inversion are well banked so its basicly more like a half loop then helix then half loop. otries not to laugho AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH! Really? Kumali, the VEKOMA, is smoother than a B&M? Yeah, right.
have you ridden nemmy or kumali? Both are great rides and living around 50 min for flamingo and 2 hour from alton i think i know what is smoother, nemesis is alot more forceful throughout but it bangs your head alot more than kumali
Do one about Diamondback and Nitro
I just went on Alpengeist the other day, came off with a huge headache... but the rain hitting my face made every ride a little painful XD
Can someone explain why the things on the side of the track on afterburn are sharks?
Sharks were a common type of nose art on military aircraft, which Afterburn is themed after.
Maybe a shark themed jet? IDK but I've seen lots of sharks on planes.
Alpengeist is better
But alpenguist has the crate you go through and the snow to make it feel like your skiing
Captain Xno I've actually been on both and Alpengeist is just nicer.
i don't think that... but it is just an opinion
Captain Xno The queue isn't themed at all on Afterburn, with the exception of the plane outside, but on Alpengeist there's fun ski/alpine theming. It's a lot better.
im rooting for alpengeist
Not biased at all. Sarcasm
After Burn was amazing! it was like you forgot everything when you ride it and just enjoy the ride!
Do Mamba vs Magnum XL pls it would be a good comparison.
did you have a different camera at carowinds? the cottage was a lot shakier then normal if that makes sense.
Me: *Knock Knock*
Guy: Who's there?
Me: Orange
Guy: Orange who?
Me: Orange you glad I didn't say 'First'?
It won by a mid course brake run...?
***** yep. MCBR suck. They often bang your head thus making it a bad coaster
No they don't make it bad thats a dunbass thing to say.
Yes they do... why the fuck would you want to slow down in the middle of the ride? It is boring and pointless
Captain Xno
Boring yes pointless ok have fun with that 7 hour wait cause there is only 1 train.
Actually there are 2 trains... and it normally has less than a 5 min wait because it has amazing ride operators... There is a thing called a "long ride" if you didn't know... one can be on the life, one can be in the station, and one could be going through the ride...

put a comma between i highly disagree and alpengeist, i thought you meant that you disagree that alpengeist is one of the best inverts
Roller coasters have mid course break runs really for 1 reason. Capacity.

What would you rate Banshee at kings island because im going there for the first time in a while and i want to ride it
I just rode Afterburner on Friday. WOW! It wins hands down on any regular inverted coaster. I love Alpengeist because of the layout and theming, but if I just want balls to the walls thrills, there is no contest!
Omg that framerate tho
Afterburn is only 44 seconds Alpengeist is 2 minutes 29 seconds
I feel like you were a little bias
Top 5 B&M inverts I have ridden:
1. Montu@BuschGardensTampa
2. Talon@DourneyPark
3. BatmanTheRide@SF
4. GreatBear@HP
5. Alpengeist@BgW
They are the only ones I have ridden. Can't wait to ride Banshee, Afterburn, and Raptor. :D
I can't help but call it Apegnist now. Lol
I think I'd put Alpengeist ahead, but only slightly. Afterburns intensity is second only to Nemesis ( at least on inverts)
I'd say Alpengeist is superior, it may be the only B&M invert I've been on, but i like it a lot, and that's really all that matters to me. It's my favorite coaster and looper at Busch Gardens, and of all time! :D

Did you get a chance to ride Afterburn in the front row? I did and I found it to be VERY intense yet very fun! :)
Front row is good, but the back row on afterburn is insane. Every inversion it whips you around and the g-forces are super intense
Alpengeist has a better theme on ride. I think he just wanted Afterburn to win, lol.
Why did they build alpengeist 5 feet away from being a hyper
Maybe B&M had a limited height. Plus it was 20 years ago when they built it.

Just because some rides are rougher doesn't mean that this one isn't rough.
Jared Andell I don't think a B&M is rougher than any Arrow.
I agree that alpengeist is underrated. It's my favorite coaster of all time!
fatmike371 TMO, Afterburn is underrated and better.
Rocky Tuck I know Alpengeist has one of the coolest layouts ever too! Also i'm a sucker for terrain Coasters.
