I was in the same situation during my first playthrough of Alpha Sapphire. Every other Pokemon but my Sceptile knocked out, and I'm facing against Mega Metagross. Sceptile lived a Tough Claws-boosted Giga Impact and proceeded to knock out Metagross. Compared to an Emerald Grass-only run I've seen, Grass-types got a major buff in the span between Gen 3 and Gen 6. Did you know the Lotad line gets no offensive Water-type moves by level up in Gen 3 until level 49 as a Lombre? Nuts.
back then as well they had hardly any offensive moves for grass and giga drain was only 60BP with 5PP like wtf. Aside from two turn solar beam or leaf blade which only sceptile can learn its pretty cooked
Always been weird to me, but Breloom has been my favorite pokemon since I played the original gen 3 games. I loved how it moved in the Type Wild fighting game too

same i love fire types more and i like tepig because it has really high hp stat and a bit high defense and plus it has two types so if a super effective pokemon is there tepig pignite or emboar can use another move to ohko it! has high attack as well btw.

Mad respect for doing a hardcore nuzlocke mono type run on one of my favourite Pokémon games with one of my favourite types! I’m sadly not good enough to be able to do hardcore nuzlocke so I have to find time to train so I can one day be good enough to do it. Don’t know how often you read the comments, but as a new subscriber it would be cool to see you do a Normal mono type run one day in any main line Pokémon game since the move pool of most normal type Pokémon are insane!
I did a mono grass on Emerald a while back, a really fun and unique run with the selection available. Might try Ground next! I always give my characters names that are gym leader appropriate too lmao
My favourite Grass type has become Cherrim, love the shiny form and Cherrim changing in sunny weather is a cool mechanic. The shiny form is very cool too!
My favorite Grass type is Turtwig, because Diamond was my first Pokémon game and I was obsessed with turtles as a kid. I'm also a big sucker for the World Turtle mythos that Torterra is inspired by.
Same, i absolutely love that turtle boi, and its also my first starter in my platinum (well i would say second because i obtained and played my first copy of platinum and pearl at the same time as a kid)
I will say, since x & y, i think the grass starters have gotten the more interesting and more impressive evolutionary forms. The fire and water ones just seem to grow little bits and get some minor aesthetic changes while the Grass ones seem to grow more and become more visually interesting/impressive......maybe with the exception of litten to incineroar
My favourite grass-type is Roserade. I used it in Pokémon X and have loved it ever since. Also it gave me more of an appreciation for the ability Poison Point.
We still need a poison only! Would love to see it, Roserade is one of my favorites (I know roserade made it into this one). Idk what game to do it on, but poison for sure please!
I think Grass Hardmode Nuzlockes are incredibly fun because even though grass has many weaknesses, grass pokémon have powerful tools to deal with them, such as Leech Seed, Powder moves and such. It makes many Nuzlocke battles very intense. It is also my favorite type, so I could be a little biased on that. Anyways, great run as always. I hope to see more Grass runs, I think Sword/Shield and X/Y could be very entertaining as well.
Roserade is my fav grass type. When roselia first came out I thought it was pretty cute, then I found out its like 1 foot tall and I was like OMG TINY ROSE LUL! Then gen 4 came out and made it even MORE powerful and I was like yeap, I love this thing.
I love that you do so many different types of nuzlockes. So many of my favourite pokemon don't get used, and it's so fun seeing some of my favourite that don't get used often

When I Nuzlocked ORAS recently with my friend, we used Mega Evolutions only in a fight if atleast one of our team members died during it. It was a pretty interesting restriction to it!

I swept through sword and shield with an own tempo Lilligant, trained in speed and special attack. Set up a quiver dance or two, and then pedal dance everything into oblivion. It's like easy mode.

I have some other then mono type Ideas for hardcore Nuzlockes: 1. Only use Pokemon with no secondary typing 2. Only use stab attacks on every Pokemon (combining these would make for a real challenge) 3. Only use signature pokemon of other Poketubers

I started a hardcore nuzlocke in Emerald with grass type Pokémon only a few days ago. Roxanne's Nosepass kill both my Treecko and Shroomish with Rock Tomb. Two crits in a row. That was a great start... At least I won on the second attempt. Lombre alone coulnd't carry it all.
Grass is my favorite type as a whole, so favorite is a list summarized as 'Yes, mostly'. In particular, Shiftry, as its just my favorite pokemon outright. Cradilly, Leafeon, Applin and its evolutions, Dhelmise, Tangrowth, Whimsicott, and Ferrothorn are all of note too. When it comes to Grass starters, Decidueye, Sceptile, Chesnaught, and Venusaur are all appreciated. More Pokemon Unbound, especially on at least difficult, if not insane mode, would be awesome; They just released a massive, definitive update finalizing just about everything, polishing and tweaking awkward spots, and just making what is already the best romhack I've ever played (and one of the best pokemon games in general) so much better.

But from ORAS, Bellossum has been my main utility Pokémon later on for utility reasons and EV training. Or Nuzleaf as my dedicated false swipe user for catching Pokémon.

Don't use rock tomb agaisnt Glalie/Froslass. Rock Tomb does 60x2=120 while Leaf Blade does 90×1.5=135. You are risking getting crit/missing your move
