Dorothy was an amazing concert artiste. I saw her perform many times. She would receive standing ovations half way through her songs. She stopped the show at Wolverhampton in1971 it was a great theatrical moment she worked herself practically to her knees. The audience wouldn't let her go. I will never forget that wonderful night
This is a great performance by any standards. On live performances Dorothy is an all time great star. The emotion she conveys is amazing.. I have met her and she is a lovely and very amusing lady. God bless your spirit Dorothy.
I wish this album could be remastered and released. It has never been released on CD. I wonder if the full tapes exist as this must have been heavily edited. Does the beautiful `live` track of ` How Deep is The Ocean` come from the same concert. ? in the 70`s there was rumours of a`live` album recorded in Glasgow
A white Shirley Bassy ha some comment It's Shirley Bassey who is a black copy cat artist Sound , delivery , dress sence all Dorethys So as a small girl Dorethy would have been the biggest singing star from Wales So flattery or down right invasion of one's unique style
Not sure what is meant by this comment. They are both great stars in there own right. And both are amazing concert performers. Dorothy was the first and she paved the way for Shirley Bassey. Shirley was obviously influenced by Dorothy.
I was there that night absolutely brilliant got the LP ,never heard anyone like dot since ,
WOW !!!!!! unreal voice!!!!!
I've just checked a list of the greatest Welsh Singers and to my disgust Dorothy Squires isn't on it. Shame on the people who compiled it.

As I understand it, nobody knows where the master tapes are!
Just fabulous. Dot makes every other singer sound insipid and anemic. How I miss her, but what a legacy of superb performances ....

One word ............. WOW !!!
The white Shirley Bassey
No other singer can generate the vocal and emotional power of Dorothy Squires in full flow.
Geat singer such a say life she had
Never heard of this singer until today and IMHO she is singing circles around Shirley Bassey who I'm a huge fan of too!
Interpolates the song "At the End of the Day".
I don't think one can compare Dot and Shirley. Different leagues.
