Only Jaisalmer area I doubt is desert.I am from odisha state and visited Rajasthan in 2013.Rajasthan has lot of other beautiful things that can never ever be shown or can be described. Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Pushkar, Azmer, Bikaner, Salasar, Khatu, jhunjhun, Chitorgarh (Padmabat movie)....Mount abu (hill station).In mount abu you even need sweater in hot season.The reason I am mentioning this here because the ad never justify its wholeness of Rajasthan.Rajasthan is best state of India calling it though myself from odisha.

Actually there is a fort near Jaipur , Bhangarh Fort which is declared haunted by Archaeological Society of India and Even observed by Discovery channel crew and many others , so after sun set its not allowed to go there moreovere many mis happening have taken place earlier you can google that.
Thats why they were scared since many young ppl try to get into some distant part of it after dawn just to explore.

Well u are wrong friends .. Its all because of the efforts of the kings of Rajasthan who took major steps to harvest rain water by making dams , canals and huge wells. Moreover Indian govt also implemented huge projects like Indira Gandhi Canal, a 445 kilometres long canal which brings the water of Satluj river from Punjab to Rajasthan . Rajasthan is green and prosperous because of the major efforts taken by the kings to save the Rain water .
Bhangarh is declared as the most haunted place by world heritage.

Thar desert is located in North Western part of Rajasthan and it is the largest desert in South Asia and most populated desert in the world for which the credit goes to Indira Gandhi government who established Indira canal which is the longest canal in India and it facilitated even agriculture in that region.
However the south eastern part of Rajasthan has very fertile soil, and historically Lothal ( Harappan civilization) is best known for wheat and rice cultivation in that area.
That fort was kumbhalgarh,& its wall are 32 km long,which is 2nd longest wall after great wall of china in world.
