I love making trans sims from childhood! As a child and teen the sim keeps their "biological" body frame, but dresses for their gender identity (for example, a trans woman sim would have the masculine body frame but prefer feminine clothing). Then I usually change their body frame when they become an adult, as if they have been taking hormones. I think it's such a fun and realistic addition to gameplay and I love that ts4 has this feature.
@@lucilecapelle9271 with testingcheats on, type in the cheat "cas.fulleditmode on" then shift+click your sim and choose "edit in CAS." Then you should be able to change anything you want in CAS!
I have been doing this recently! Though I added a rags to riches style challenge where they have to earn a certain amount of money and then they can afford a surgery (e.g. top surgery, facial reconstruction, bottom surgery, etc). Then I wipe out their money and start saving for the next surgery. (To be clear, that's not to say surgeries are mandatory or needed in real life! It's just a fun way to integrate a rags to riches style challenge in. 👍)
While in detail edit mode, if you drag the forehead left & right, it adjusts how wide/narrow your Sims' lower-face is. Outside of detail mode, dragging the forehead adjusts the forehead and head size and dragging the jaw only moves the jaw. I use this all the time, but just thought some might not know about it.

HOLD ON! I have been playing the Sims 4 since it came out and I am now only learning about the feet size slider, my mind is blown haha this explains why some of my sims feet looked so weird in the shoes...
I would absolutely love it if we had a slider for the lashes. I always use cc lashes and the only way I can get rid of those black triangles is by choosing another preset of eyes, which changes so much about their face if you just want to give a townie a make over
Not a CAS feature, but I think many simmers forget or don't even realize if you click on a sim at work you can actually change what they do on the job. I thought this got removed from Sims 3 for almost a year until I clicked my Sim's portrait in the right spot. (Upper right corner for those whom aren't aware.) I was mad for they longest time because career progression felt so darn slow until I finally learned how to change his performance to Work Hard.
Thank you for this! I’ve been trying to branch out with face shapes recently. Something I noticed with the gender settings is that the sex designates what pronouns your sim uses. I found this out accidentally when making my simself and receiving a VERY rude awakening when I went in-game.

I also noticed that sims with male frames have small bumps where their crotches are when they wear masc pants, but when I put them in fem pants the bump goes away

Yo, I use the custom gender settings more than I use the basic gender settings these days. I am nonbinary and literally all of my friends are trans, so that's probably why. At this moment I am making a nonbinary sim using the custom gender settings. I also usually get rid of masc and fem preferences. And I STILL knew and already used all of these.
The feature where you can make the entire face protrude in and out on the side profile, I don’t see many people use it! It’s usually activated near the temples!
I also use the custom gender settings to simulate menopause in older adult women! I just find it so unrealistic that a sim 3 days from becoming an elder can get pregnant.
You can hover over individual body parts (thighs for example) and change their size. This way you aren’t limited to the muscle fat scale they have; you can make your sims as thick or thin as you want. This also works with breast, hip, and shoulder size.
I love using the detail sliders. Personalizing the sims is so fun. My favorite for some reason is the possibility of giving the sim a hooked nose or like tip of the nose up or super low.
If you press Shift while moving a feature, it will keep the feature level. ie: if you wanted to move eyes only horizontally and not vertically at all, you can press Shift and they will stay at the same height with out moving up or down.
oh speaking of the corners of the mouth in detail mode- if you click on the corners while your sim is front facing, you can change how far up or down the corners go, and give your sim a little smirk or frown
The back of the neck was new to me! My general advice is, that if you can change it from the front, you can change it from the side. Always check your sims side profile, so they don't get the Vlad Syndrom

I had no idea about the eye whites slider or the neck slider! My future sims thank you 💖 Oh! And I have stye advice: When you feel one coming on carefully clean it with antibacterial soap and water on a q-tip (cotton bud - idk if different brands are more popular in the UK) or hydrogen peroxide. Be careful to not get any in your eye, but it works. I've prevented many a stye from forming like this
if you turn your sim to the side in detail edit mode you can pull the eyelids and the whole eye out also you can change the jaw shape to be more angular or more square

I used Gender Customization the last time in my game for a sim that was a monster (multiple eyes, tentacle hair, ex.) that gave his first child to a witch to become a human, but now he can’t get other people pregnant anymore.
right now I have a wlw relationship (one of them is a garden witch and one is a kitchen witch) and I have made one be able to get others pregnant so they can have a lil witch baby eekkkkk

I wish i knew about the color coded clothes tags when I was making color coded Cluedo inspired characters. Would have made making a sim wear all yellow or all blue so much easier. So many clothes to look threw.
I mostly use the randomize selective part bit for items that dont have a randomize button like voice and makeup which is great for random genetics, looking at you vixella 😂
I knew all of these except that you could change the position by grabbing the whites of the eyes🙆🏻♂️ I'm actually spending a lot of time in the CAS haha

There's a few mods that change the height of Sims, while adapting the animations (as best as possible), you should look them up.

There’s a mod that removes the default lashes for every eye shape! I think it’s called the ‘No EA Lashes Mod’
Many of the eye presets have different eyelash lengths, but yes a slider for them specifically would be useful. 🙂

The detail mode basically already in the sims3 for a long time ago, except the iris ones. We can shift how far away the sim's eyes etc in TS3
