And just like that, in a little more than six minutes, you've turned my colouring process completely around from something I always looked at with dread to something I am honestly looking forward to. These techniques have the potential to save me huge amounts of time and effort, so I genuinely thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing the knowledge! I will put it to good use in my upcoming works😊

THANK YOU!!!!! You're the only one who said that the subtool area needed to be adjusted/clicked on so I wouldn't paint over reference layers, I was wondering why it wasn't working and why it kept going over the lines. Not a lot of brushes, etc come with that automatically clicked on. Thank you very much!!

So many thanks for the video. I have been struggling with reference layers, all tutorials are so fast and short i could not understand a thing!! So happy you took time and slowed it down.

I've been using reference layers and the fill bucket and it serves me very well. I didn't know so many other tools use reference layers so I'll have to play with a few. It would be great for the shadow and highlight tools.

Great tutorial. I was aware of this function but never knew you could add colour effects with it too.

Thanks for clearing this up for me! I appreciate it!
In future tutorials, could you add more DIRECTION ARROWS or POINTERS to point out the options you are changing? I tried following along but got lost in a couple areas. Your layout is confusing. :P

A terrific tutorial! Does the fill function work if you haven't completely closed in a space? In other words, the line work leaves gaps.

even without making the layer abouve "line art layer', a reference layer, you can still fill the colours on the layer below, you just need to select " refer to other layers' on the bucket tool. So please explain me the purpose of the reference layer.
