The Barra straight six deserves so much more recognition and I’m happy to see it on this list, one of the great straight sixes. Also I said it in the part 1 comments section but I’m going to say it again, the Brabham BT62 and BT62R also deserve to be on this list.

It was a shame ford discontinued it. Same goes with Toyota with 2JZ.

One of my best mates used to own an unmodified, stock standard FPV Tornado back in day. It would eat my mildly, modified EVO for breakfast.....I needed rain and some twisties to turn the tables in my favour. The mighty Barra with some forced induction applied was an amazing bit of kit straight off the showroom floor. Luv your work AK & the entire ReDriven team :-)

Valiants; slant 6 high compression, 318 & 360 V8s and 265 hemi straight six (preferably with triple carbies).

I once knew someone who had a 265 straight six with three carbies, in a orange coupe body !, what a machine ! , its a shame they weren't as popular as the Fords & GM's , as they were one heck of a car & so deserved much more fame & fortune & recognition/sales than they got!.

Deliberately didn't suggest the A9X last week as I knew it'd be on this weeks list lol.
    Cars that definitely deserve a place on next week's list are;
The original sin bins Holden Sandman, Ford Sundowner and Chrysler Drifter.
The XA,XB and XC Ford Fatbirds
    Chrysler Valient Charger
    Rambler Matador
    R31 Skyline
    Nissan Bluebird/Pintara
    Humber Super Snipe
    Singer Gazelle
    Sunbeam Alpine
    VW Country Buggy
    P76 Leyland
    Studebaker Silver Hawk
Mitsubishi Scorpion especially with Rocket Bunny pack.
    AMC/Rambler Javelin
    Perentie
    Holden Jackaroo
    Holden Rodeo 2000
Good video as always guys and you're close to hitting the 3/4 way mark for the silver play button. Looking forward to Friday's video and I'm guessing it's either a Suzuki or Ford of some kind that your reviewing.

Thanks for the video; I enjoyed it.
One correction: the GT-F may have been the final FPV but it wasn't the final performance Falcon. That would be both the FG-X XR6 Sprint and XR8 Sprint which also deserve mention on a future list (the XR6 Sprint in particular).
Also, the F6 Typhoon/Tornado in the BA put out 270kW, not 266kW. The FG F6 put out 310kW. I agree that the Typhoon and Tornado monikers were awesome; it's a shame they only called later versions F6.

    Awesome channel and reviews.
A great session would be "Top 10 P-Plate vehicle's" or "Iconic 4 cylinder hoon vehicles" (aka iconic Fast Fours)
You could have price max and pre and post a certain age. Eg Ford Escorts, Holden Geminis, Toyota Celica, Nissan Sylvia , Sigma/Cordia/Starion, Nissan Pulsar SSS , Alfa GTV, Fiat 124 sport to the first WRX . Throw in an RX4/Rx7 for clicks and hate bait.
Keep up the great work. Even the bloopers are pure gold !!

I miss my 2006 BF F6 Typhoon - Loved that car, sold it for $33k as a trade against a 2009 EVO X MR - Dooh!

The HK GTS Monaro was really only a so called “Muscle” in its 4speed manual only 327 Chevrolet V8 top line Version as it could also be had in the breathless 307 under square version (283 bore 327 stroke US truck version) not forgetting the 186 S six cylinder GTS base model, I reckon you should have highlighted the best and last of the 1st generation design and that would be the HG GTS with its 300 bhp 350 Chevrolet in 4 speed Muncie manual version ( it could be had with a derated 275 bhp in front of a turbo 400 which was also used in all manual and auto next model HQ GTS Monaros) a bit more information regarding engine types for people that don’t know would be helpful other than just glossing over them generically seems to be lacking

The V2 Holden Monaro from 2001.
HSV versions include the GTO and GTS models. The 427 version winning the inaugural Bathurst 24 hour. She was sold in the States as the Pontiac GTO. With only 1600 cars built in the last version CV8-Z in 2005. It's a great car and got to be a great investment.
There is a interesting back story to the cars arrival and first showing at the 1998 Car Show. It was developed under the name 'Monica' in secret. VL had a Nissan engine with a radiator fitted to low and thus cracked heads. It was scary upon turn in, into corners like the trailing arms or bushes or both flexed. I was an apprentice mechanic and for had 4 valve 250s back in the late seventies and the barra was simply an evolution of the old 4.1 there is no connection between Ford developing the the turbo barra because of the VL. None! I was going garret t3 my XA 250 in 1978 because even those old clunkers would put down a HO Ford was very aware of what 4.1 turbo could do they experimented with them. Dick Johnson developed his own with the intention of racing them. He would change car culture in Australia except CAMS changed the rules and that was that for turbo falcons until the BA

Actually how bout reviewing some Aussie odd balls like the 4.1 litre mk3 cortina, the P76 (always wanted one of those just to be different).
Aussie re engineered some dreadful foreign cars over the years, some successful (commodore), some not (Marina and a 2.6 engine). Good look back of Aussie automotive history, not just the typical Ford/Holden battle that’s ragged since before dawn. Oh, on that note…with a Holden vamoosing, what brand have the followers gone too?

    Holden VC Starfire 4
    Holden Camiras
    Leyland P76
    Hartnett Tasman
    Gemini Deisel
What a bunch of beauties these are.
