    Girl that’s why your light bill is so high- you should keep your ac on 72 all the time and try using a fan at night. When you put the ac on 76 then turn it down to 68 the ac has to use more power to cool the house if you keep it at a set temp it uses less power. I used to do what you do and my bill was always over $300 but once i started leaving it at 72 it went down tremendously

    • @AbbyAsselin
      @AbbyAsselin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that makes sense!! we started doing this (and tbh it’s what we used to do in apartments but it’s been so weird navigating our ac system bc it’s 2 thermostats/1 unit and it can get confusing). thank you!

  • @mozmakeup07
    @mozmakeup07 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Check your a/c filter and coils. Dirty filters can make it harder for your a/c to run properly and can cause your bills to go up. Setting your a/c below 72 can cause issues for your a/c and could also be a culprit for the high bill. You could also run into issues with frozen coils. Texas heat and trying to keep your house that cold is going to run up your bills quickly. For a bill that high you might want to call an a/c professional to see if anything is going wrong.

    • @AbbyAsselin
      @AbbyAsselin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      we may have to look into that if it isn’t better this month! we have 2 thermostats and 1 unit (pancake system) & we find it so much harder to heat/cool compared to when we were in an apartment lol. thank you!

    Congrats on your promotion! And super glad you haven’t gotten carpal tunnel yet. I got a nerve test done and was diagnosed last year w it and it’s rough but non-inflammatory diets and physical therapy based exercises along w wearing a brace as needed definitely have helped!

    Congratulations on the promotion! You really do deserve it, and I am sure you will do a great job!
    Could you do an updated what's in my bag video for your in-office workbag? I am starting my first corporate job in a highrise downtown position. I would love to see what you bring in with you and if you could talk about getting over being nervous about going in-office for this kind of job it would be super helpful. I feel like you have a lot of good insight for the new grads starting jobs and internships after the summer.
    Also, I have loved watching you grow as a person over the years. I enjoyed your college content a lot, but I also really love getting to watch another person in their 20s grow into themselves and start a family. Thank you for always being so honest and vulnerable with us. It really helps to see that other people who look like they have it all together from the outside don't feel that way every day. Every time I try to express these feelings to people they all tell me I'm crazy or that I am doing amazing and will succeed at whatever I put my mind to, and while it can be nice to hear, it also can be overwhelming. I feel heard and seen when I watch your videos because you show us your real life. So thank you.

    I would try keeping your house at a set temperature rather than one for the day and the night to lower your bill. At nighttime your AC will have to work harder to drop the temperature quickly, versus keeping it at a steady temp all day.

    • @AbbyAsselin
      @AbbyAsselin  ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m a chiropractic student and It could be cubital tunnel that you are dealing with. Same idea as carpal tunnel but located in the elbow. An occupational therapist may be able to help!

    • @janavisathappan8929
      @janavisathappan8929 ปีที่แล้ว

      OT student here! Yes it sounds like cubital tunnel syndrome since it's affecting you from elbow down and on the particular side of the hand you were describing (it's a compression of your ulnar nerve). Might wanna consider splinting or using a cushion under your elbow!

    • @raeram2008
      @raeram2008 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had cubital tunnel syndrome from catching a patient in the hospital, I’m a nurse. Definitely see an OT.

    • @AbbyAsselin
      @AbbyAsselin  ปีที่แล้ว

  • @maddypitchford
    @maddypitchford ปีที่แล้ว

    can totally relate with the carpal tunnel feelings lol, mine also used to be every now and then and now it’s pretty constant too. what has helped me is ice, KT tape (there’s videos on youtube of the right way to tape it), and an ergonomic mousepad. let’s hope it gets better for both of us 😅

    Hey I’m an occupational therapist, look into cubital tunnel syndrome! The area you pointed at and your symptoms lead me more to cubital tunnel vs carpal tunnel, carpal tunnel typically just occurs at the wrist and hand.

    you should check out some ulnar nerve glides! they may help with the symptoms you're experiencing with cubital tunnel syndrome. It may be worth looking into your office set up too and making sure your elbows are always at a 90 degree angle!

    What you may be experiencing with your arm and hand tingling is cubical tunnel syndrome. I’ve struggled with it for 2 years. It’s characterized by tingling down from elbow to your hands (kinda feels like you’ve hit your funny bone) It is very triggered by repetitive bending of your elbow. I saw a hand doctor and got a sleeping brace and exercises. I would see sooner than later. Sorry you’re dealing with this!
