Thank you! I'm grateful to be getting closer and closer to due date, feeling better that baby is getting bigger and stronger.

Those are great cards! I will probably pick up a set, even though we have some boring ones.
It's always more fun with pretty flash cards!

Sometimes "pretty" is just plain motivating. I also love that these give little clues about things that are important to the state itself.

Having a handful of games to go back to again and again can be very useful!

We use timers for almost everything in our house. For some reason my boys thrive when there’s a timer going. I was the kid that got anxiety from timers haha!
Love the guessing game idea. My guy loves guessing.

The timer thing can really depend on personality! My oldest loves to have activities timed. Guessing is a fun one, and great as kids get older and develop the ability to describe something using different clues!

Thank you! These will help add some variety.
We mostly use the speed game for our phonogram cards.
We are doing the 50 states and capitals this year! I've got 3 cards for each state (capital, state, both) and the kids have to play memory match to get all three pieces of the puzzle.

Memory matching with different parts is a great one! And it's nice to have a small handful of activities to pull from for variety. I don't like to do TOO many different games, because then it can take too much time for kids to just learn the game, but having a few different options keeps the brain working in slightly different ways.

My 2nd grader says her daily math drills are her favorite part of math because she likes to go fast.

My oldest also really loves any 'speed' based game!

Yes!! I’m so glad Christian Light schedules flash card practice for letters and numbers in kinder and math facts in 1st and 2nd.

It can be very effective to just spend a little bit of time practicing with flashcards regularly!

Love your ideas!! How do keep track of them??

    • @SevenInAll
      @SevenInAll  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Keep track of the flashcards or the ideas? For flashcards: I am very conscientious about putting away all school supplies in the same place when we're done with school for the day. I know that if they aren't put away properly, it could take me forever to find them, so consistently keeping everything in the same locations makes it easy to find resources and not lose things.
Keeping track of what games we're playing? I just jot down what we play in my planner. I do seek to rotate through different types of games, but often my boys will get a "favorite" game and I'm happy to repeat that one over and over for a few weeks until they're ready to switch things up, then I'll do something different.

My older kids could have more flascards but they don’t want them!!! They only have a few!m, apart from sequence one for morning time as they join us!!! They read older books tho!!! My youngest has letter flascards with both cases and so do my older kids for reading cursive!!! My older kids play drops so I could get them to find words they learn from drops!!! I need to be near them as I don’t understand the languages they are learning!!! With dyslexic kids we can’t do speed drills!!! With math I’ve not stressed time and my older kids are fast with math facts!!! These games might mean I print out my older kids flash cards and I’m ok with that!!!
