Long distance is a beast! It's also hard when your relationship has been more long distance than in person because you are still trying to figure each other out, develop the relationship and maintain it with the long distance. I do agree that you need to find the right person to go through it with but when you are building a relationship and trying to find out if it's the one for you, you are finding out if the person is the right one to go through it with. I trust that God has a plan for all of us even when we find ourselves in situations we never thought we would be in or never thought we could go through. I send you all my love and courage!

Okay, I am a 70-year old boring white woman but I have never stopped learning and growing. Seeking to find the balance between “selfish” and “humble” is an ongoing process that will be with you for life. Being beautiful and influential go hand in hand with kindness and caring for others. I commend you on your journey to find what is right for you!

1st off, I never realize how "old" I am til ppl say their still in their 20s and I'm like, lawd, I'm 5 yrs away from 40 🥲 lol... but, anywayzzz, great video! My husband and I did long distance for 2 yrs, and it was the hardest journey of my life (felt like, lol). Your tips are right on pt! Especially the "date nights" and "constant communication". Those 2 right there really helped. Fortunately, I work for an airline, so we got to see each other every wkend (for free) so that helped as well, but also hurt because it was always quick trips and I just wanted to hold him daily 😔 Long distance isn't for the weak lol. But stay strong, and just keep the future in mind, that'll help too 😉 You got it girl

one thing I’ve definitely learned with my adult friendships & maintaining them is attachment styles & compromise. I have some friends that are “needy” as you said & maintaining them requires more quality time/time spent together but i don’t find it overbearing always. I’ve learned to just develop boundaries with them while respecting that that’s how they communicate. There are some friends i wanna talk with more frequently but their communication style doesn’t match that. Ahhh such a learning process

My entire relationship was long distance with my now husband! Thankfully we were both in the USA but he was in his first year of medical school in CA, while I was a teacher in SC! So opposite sides of the country! We dated 4 months before he proposed. We’re engaged 6 months, all long distance. I planned our wedding with his Mom, Sister, Aunt, & Best Friend and my Mom Sister. He couldn’t really help plan because medical school was his priority! & I refused to move unless we were married lol. We are Christian’s so we didn’t live together or have sex before marriage. & honestly long distance definitely helped with That! & it forced to have better communication because of the 3hr time difference, Him being a med school student, & me already being established in my career as an educator. It also helped us to have a secure relationship, & not develop codependent habits/behaviors/emotions. God is the foundation of our faith, & marriage. & our entire relationship! A chord of three strands is not easily broken! ❤
    You got this!

Long distance can definitely be hard especially in those moments when you’re feeling emotional and just long for a hug or embrace but definitely being intentional and putting in the effort to see each other as much as possible helps and working towards being together in the same place sooner than later is key! All the best and take your time with the wedding planning .. it’s definitely expensive and can be overwhelming (I’m newly married- and what helped was keeping it small and it was a beautiful wedding)
    Congratulations again!🎉

I can 100% relate to this feeling of growing into being more selfish. I’m 22 and I feel like there are so many expectations of me and I really can’t give until I am well off on my own especially being in the field of Public Health and healthcare because that’s makes me a hypocrite to give people advice on health and wellness while still not managing my own emotions, health and wellness. Great chat!

It is a journey to put yourself first as we have been raised in the Caribbean to be self-less. I'm currently in a long-distance marriage, after having a long distance relationship. We've been together for about 7 years and married for almost two but migration is a process. We usually travel every couple months to make it easier. You'll get through it

Okay that whole thriving off of productivity and never being able to rest is SO me. And you’re so right it’s so toxic and burnout approaches quickly if you’re not careful. I’m a second year med study and I experience this at least once a week. It’s so hard to just relax! Loved this video, more girl chats needed for sure!

"Adult"...yes it is an "a" but there are varying pronounciations for the letter "a". In this case, the "a" makes the schwa sound which is reduced, neutral vowel sound. It's phonetic symbol is ə. At the same time, language constantly evolves...
